Silver Lake Park Campground (Modern America Campgrounds) Reviews
Silver lake campground was an excellent experience. My daughter and I rented one of the smaller cabins for a week. It was cozy, clean, had everything we needed to be comfortable. I even forgot a few things and thanks to the kitchen being fully furnished it was no big deal. It's a quiet, kid friendly happy place that even offers kayaking and fishing, plus the area has so much to do. We had a great time and will absolutely be returning. Thankyou to everyone at silver lake campground!
Sep 28, 2024 · Matt BordnerI have been a seasonal camper for 4 seasons. As a stay at home mom this campground has been an amazing place for my children to learn and grow. Very family friendly. Very safe environment. Clean and tranquil.
Sep 27, 2024 · Dominique PasternakChecking in, the girl was very friendly. We were so excited. However we Quickly learned that the sites were mainly geared towards visitors in campers rather than tents & We were tent camping.I found the shower in the ladies bathroom to be rather gross, however the larger handicapped shower was decent and clean. While I can appreciate the laundry room as an option, it was creepy and dingy. I'm not sure I'd have trusted to wash laundry there. I did have to wash some cooking utensils that was my reason for being in there. Again, I appreciated being able to do so, but everything was so dirty. Also, while it's a pet friendly campground, the rules state not to leave your pets unattended. Our neighbor's left their 2 small dogs alone for the day insode their camper. At least from the time we checked in at 2pm until they returned at 630pm. To which the dogs barked pretty non stop. The same group had many many adults camping on their site and it was noisy late into the night, past 11pm. (Which again, rules state quiet time at 10pm-8am on weekdays) My kids and i were unable to get much sleep. Between the noise, the pooring rain and the forecasted thunder storms, that really put a "damper" on things, we cut our stay short.
Jul 23, 2024 · SarahAll the 4 and 5 star reviews you are reading are from previous years. Silver Lake Campground was bought out in October of 2022 by Modern America Campgrounds. It had been a Family owned campground for decades. My husband and I are seasonals and have been here for 5 years. This season was the worse. Grounds were not maintained. Bathrooms were not cleaned. Price increases and Management totally incompetent. In less than a season they have ruined our beautiful place. Modern America Campgrounds have scooped up many of the mom and pop campgrounds in NH, MA, Maine. If you read the new reviews for 2023 for their newly acquired campgrounds you will see how very unhappy everyone is and how people are leaving. Also never contact the facilitators at Modern America for any reason because they will scream at you on the phone, bully you and use the same words they have used for others in different campgrounds they own, "Sounds like you're not happy here. You'll need to find another campground." Then they will not offer you a contract for the following year. My husband and I have never brought a concern to anyone in the campground until the handicap shower was broken for over 5 weeks and out of order. We simply asked when it might be fixed. The facilitator was Derek at the corporate office. He has spoken to others this way too. We were told if we had any concerns to call them and the one time we did this is how he treated us and others. Modern America and their management and facilitator team have failed as owners and as human beings. My recommendation is to stay away from any campground that Modern America owns. Stick to family owned campground. You will be so much happier.
Sep 17, 2023 · Kathy MooreREALLY enjoyed the cabin I'd rented during Laconia. Bed was nice & comfortable for a solo traveller. I'm a fairly big dude, so it'd be too small for both my bride & me. Full kitchen, too. Nice couch/bed, table affixed to wall & screened porch. Wi-Fi & television, too. (Not my scene, but they're there.) The ONLY reason for the 3 star service rating is that the office hours are limited. I'd have liked to meet the people who run the campground. They have systems in place to accommodate "Outside of Business Hours" guests. Before my trip was even over, I was thinking about going back "next year".
