Sycamore Cove Introduce
If you're searching for "Camping Near Me" and dreaming of a campsite with a beautiful beach in the Malibu area, Sycamore Cove, located at 9000 W Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265, USA, offers a picturesque coastal setting. You can contact them at (310) 457-8144 or +1 310-457-8144 for any inquiries.
Sycamore Cove is lauded by visitors for its stunning natural beauty. One reviewer exclaimed, "Such a beautiful beach!" This highlights the primary draw of this location: its access to a scenic stretch of the Malibu coastline. The allure of waking up to the sound of the waves and spending days by the ocean is a significant attraction for many seeking a beach camping experience.
The campground is also described as "perfect for families," indicating that it offers amenities and an environment suitable for campers of all ages. This family-friendly aspect, combined with the beautiful beach, makes Sycamore Cove a potentially appealing destination for those traveling with children.
For those who enjoy outdoor cooking, Sycamore Cove provides "barbecues available for use." This amenity allows campers to easily prepare meals and enjoy the quintessential camping experience of grilling in a beautiful outdoor setting. Having barbecues on-site adds convenience and enhances the overall appeal for families and groups.
Accessibility is another positive feature mentioned by a visitor. The presence of "a large log to sit on for people with limited mobility" demonstrates an effort to accommodate a wider range of visitors, ensuring that more individuals can comfortably enjoy the natural beauty of Sycamore Cove. This thoughtful inclusion is a notable advantage.
However, prospective visitors should be aware of certain limitations and significant drawbacks reported by recent campers. One of the primary challenges is "limited" parking space. The reviewer strongly recommends arriving before the official opening time of 8 am to wait in line and secure a preferred spot. This suggests that parking can be a significant issue, especially during peak season or on weekends, and early arrival is crucial to guarantee a parking space.
It's also important to note the parking fees. Parking at Sycamore Cove costs $3 per hour or $12 for the entire day. Furthermore, payment is accepted by "Credit/Debit card only," so visitors should ensure they have a valid card for payment as cash is not an option.
The most significant negative feedback regarding Sycamore Cove concerns the condition of the porta potties. One reviewer described them as "the biggest downside" and stated that there were three normal-sized units and one handicap-accessible unit. Critically, they were described as "all beyond disgusting" and "NOT maintained at all." This is a serious concern for hygiene and overall comfort during a camping trip. Despite the beautiful location, the severely unmaintained restroom facilities could significantly detract from the camping experience.
Despite the major issue with the porta potties, one visitor mentioned, "Even with that, when we come back to CA, I could see visiting here once again." This suggests that the beauty of the beach and the overall location might outweigh the negative aspects for some visitors, particularly if they are prepared for the restroom situation or if improvements are made in the future.
Adding a personal touch, one reviewer mentioned taking a "5 minute video of the waves crashing" and shared their YouTube account name, "StormyDuo," for those interested in viewing it. While not directly related to the campground's services or features, this highlights the captivating natural beauty of the location that visitors might appreciate.
In summary, Sycamore Cove offers a stunning beach location that is praised for its beauty and suitability for families. The availability of barbecues and accessible seating are additional positive aspects. However, potential campers must be aware of the limited parking and the fact that parking fees are payable by credit or debit card only. The most significant concern raised by recent visitors is the severely unmaintained and "disgusting" condition of the porta potties. While the beauty of the location might still make it a worthwhile visit for some, the state of the restroom facilities is a serious factor to consider.
For those searching for "Camping Near Me" in Malibu, Sycamore Cove presents a trade-off between a beautiful beach environment and potentially unpleasant restroom conditions. It is advisable to be prepared for limited parking and to bring appropriate payment methods for parking. If clean and well-maintained restrooms are a high priority, it might be prudent to consider alternative campgrounds in the area. However, if the allure of a beautiful beach and a family-friendly atmosphere outweighs this concern, Sycamore Cove could still offer a memorable camping experience.
Prospective visitors might consider checking recent online reviews for the most up-to-date information on the condition of the facilities before making a booking. Contacting the provided phone number might also offer insights into any recent improvements or maintenance efforts at the campground.

Oct 15, 2024 · Michael MarschnerGreat little beach located across from the campground. Restrooms, picnic benches, barbecues and firepits.
Jul 31, 2022 · Jonathan P.A quiet beach to lay down in the sand and watch the waves and the magnificent sunsets. Not overly crowded, not a show-offy beach. Bathroom facility is under equipped and dirty. Park first and then go to the kiosk to buy a timed ticket from the machine and put on your dashboard..
