Tanglewood Campground and RV Resort Introduce
For local users in Kentucky and the surrounding areas searching for "camping near me," Tanglewood Campground and RV Resort, located at 55 K O A Ln, Hardin, KY 42048, USA, offers a camping and RV experience in close proximity to the renowned Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. You can contact them at (270) 474-2778 or +1 270-474-2778 for inquiries and reservations. Based on the available customer reviews, this resort has several positive aspects, along with some considerations for potential visitors.
One reviewer highlighted the "great location just minutes from Land Between the Lakes," which is a significant advantage for those looking to explore this vast natural and recreational area. They also noted that "the campers are nice, the bathrooms clean and they are dog friendly!" These are important factors for many campers, indicating a welcoming community atmosphere, well-maintained hygiene facilities, and the ability to bring pets along. This positive review suggests a pleasant and accommodating environment for a camping or RV stay.
However, another review presents a more nuanced perspective. This camper observed that the resort is "mostly a seniors long term park," which they felt contributed to noise issues, stating that residents were "up all night and doing this or that and then leaving early in the morning and making noise." This is a crucial point for those seeking a quiet and restful camping experience. The same reviewer also pointed out significant limitations with connectivity, mentioning "virtually NO wifi unless you are up right at the office and then it is weak" and "NO cell connection at all unless you use wifi calling at the office." For travelers who need to stay connected, this could be a major drawback.
On the positive side, this second reviewer acknowledged that the resort is "Scenic and nice" and that "the owners decorate for the season so that is nice." This suggests an aesthetically pleasing environment with attention to detail in maintaining the grounds. They also noted that it is a "well kept and clean park," echoing the sentiment of the first reviewer regarding cleanliness. However, they mentioned that the "spaces available are pull thru but not very level," which could be a concern for RVers needing a level site. Finally, they provided a price point of "$35+taxes so about $40 per night," giving potential visitors an idea of the cost.
Considering the environment, Tanglewood Campground and RV Resort benefits from its location near Land Between the Lakes, offering access to the natural beauty and recreational activities of this large area. The resort itself is described as "scenic and nice," suggesting an attractive setting. The seasonal decorations by the owners indicate an effort to enhance the visual appeal of the park. However, the potential for noise due to the long-term senior residents is a factor to consider.
In terms of services, the clean bathrooms are a definite plus. The dog-friendly policy is also a significant service for pet owners. The availability of pull-thru RV sites is convenient, although their lack of levelness might require some adjustment. The presence of wifi, albeit weak and only reliable near the office, is a service, but its limited coverage and strength are important to note. The lack of cell service (requiring wifi calling at the office) is another connectivity aspect to be aware of. The long-term senior resident demographic might also imply certain community-oriented services or a particular atmosphere within the park.
The features of Tanglewood Campground and RV Resort include its proximity to Land Between the Lakes, its dog-friendly policy, clean bathrooms, and seasonal decorations. The pull-thru RV sites, while not perfectly level, are also a feature. The presence of long-term residents, primarily seniors, shapes the community aspect and potentially the noise levels. The limited wifi and lack of cell service are also notable features (or lack thereof).
For local users searching for "camping near me," Tanglewood Campground and RV Resort in Hardin, KY, offers a location convenient for exploring Land Between the Lakes, along with the advantages of clean facilities and a pet-friendly environment. However, potential visitors should be aware of the possibility of noise from long-term residents and the significant limitations in wifi and cellular connectivity away from the office. If you prioritize access to Land Between the Lakes and don't rely heavily on internet or phone service at your campsite, this could be a suitable option. RVers should be prepared for potentially uneven pull-thru sites.
To make an informed decision, local users might want to weigh the importance of location relative to Land Between the Lakes, the cleanliness and pet-friendly aspects, against the potential for noise and the connectivity issues. Contacting the resort directly at the provided phone numbers could yield more information about site leveling, the extent of long-term residency, and any efforts to improve wifi or cell service. Ultimately, Tanglewood Campground and RV Resort offers a blend of positives and negatives that should be considered based on individual camping preferences and needs.

Nov 01, 2024 · Dan B.Would not stay or book here under any circumstance. IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM. THE PICTURES OF SITES/DESCRIPTION AND EVEN WHEN CALLING TO SPEAK WITH THE OWNER, SHE LIED ON THE SIZE OF SITES EVEN AFTER MULTIPLE QUESTIONS My husband and I explained exactly what size rig and set up we had and were looking for and would not want anything less due to 50 other campgrounds in the area. We called to speak with her twice to ask and verify the site would be large enough. She adamant that the site was one of the large ones with a huge grass area for your dog, after a 15 minute phone Call explaining our rig and what we needed she stated that we needed to go ahead and book it online and meet her at the office when we arrived in 15 minutes!!! We arrived and was given the rules and walked to our spot upon looking at the spot it was painfully clear the pictures online were distorted and this site was not even half the size shown or close to being even log enough to hold the camper itself let alone the truck or the width of the camper. THE CAMPER STAYED ATTACHED TO THE TRUCK AT THE FRONT ENTRANCE THE ENTIRE TIME. We travel full time for the last year from campground to campground and have never encountered an owner or scammer like this. We would completely understand if we had booked hours, days, or week before and we caused her to miss out on other campers but no a meer 15 minutes. We tried to reason and explain again and say we were sorry but we would have to cancel the booking that did not require or take payment before arrival or even upon arrival. She then said that's fine but it'll be 100 plus tax fee for canceling a booking that did not require nor take payment before canceled. 10 minutes after we left she then processed the full payment amount and refunded less than half of it after her so called 100 and something dollar fee while she waved and smiled as we left. If you want to give money away this is the place for you. It's all long term metal and built shelters around camper with a couple spots for actual campers.THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE AND NOTHING MORE THAN A SCAM
Jul 21, 2024 · Taylor FaulknerWe stayed in the bee cabin. Tiny. Very tiny 1 bunk bed and 1 full size bed with mini fridge, AC, microwave, coffee maker, towels, grilling utensils, small grill with charcoal and fluid. Outside.. front porch, detached back beck with picnic table, metal fire pit with 4 plastic lounging chairs with cup holders. And a hammick for 2. If you want to camp like a king, this isn't for you. But if you love tent camping, you will camp like a king. This cabin, just guessing..... Maybe 100 sqf. But who stays inside in the woods with a lake nearby. Hang out outside...
Apr 24, 2024 · Phil ClarkI highly recommend camping at Tanglewood Campground and RV Resort. The owners and the campers are very friendly and welcoming. They invited us to sit by their campfire. They told unbelievable stories about huge slimy 5lb frogs that fishermen saw near the pond (near the campsite). We camped during Memorial Day weekend and attended their dinner party. Some of the campers brought their home cooked meals and the food was delicious. The campground is only walking distance from the cool refreshing Kentucky Lake with piles of colorful seashells by the shore. On the way to the lake, we saw a red fox peaking out of the forest.
