The campground can be contacted via phone at (270) 619-5341 or mobile phone at +1 270-619-5341. While online descriptions often highlight the natural environment of campgrounds, specific details about Lost Creek's setting are limited in the provided information. Typically, campgrounds in this region of Kentucky boast access to natural beauty, potentially including wooded areas, proximity to lakes or creeks, and opportunities for outdoor activities. However, without explicit details, we encourage you to inquire directly about the specific environment and surroundings of Lost Creek Campground when you contact them.
When considering "camping near me," understanding the services and amenities offered is crucial. Standard campground services often include various types of campsites to accommodate different camping preferences, such as tent sites, RV sites with hookups (electricity, water, and sewer), and potentially primitive camping areas. It's important to confirm with Lost Creek Campground the availability and specifics of these site types, including the number of sites, their sizes, and the nature of the hookups provided. Additionally, many campgrounds offer communal facilities for the convenience of their guests. These can include restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, picnic tables, fire pits or grilling areas, and potentially recreational areas such as playgrounds or communal gathering spaces. To get a comprehensive understanding of the services available at Lost Creek Campground, direct communication is recommended.
Features that make a campground stand out can significantly enhance your local camping experience. Some campgrounds offer unique features like on-site activities (hiking trails, fishing ponds), organized events, or specific amenities tailored to certain types of campers. One review mentions that the owner, Peggy, "tauts the campground as Veteran friendly." This suggests a potential focus on welcoming veterans, although the reviewer also noted that the discount initially implied was not consistently applied. If you are a veteran seeking a local campground, it would be beneficial to discuss any specific veteran-related services or discounts directly with the owner to clarify the current policies.
Another interesting feature mentioned in the reviews is the practice of the owner designating campers as "campground helpers" in exchange for a discount on their stay. This peer-assistance model might foster a sense of community among some campers. However, as one reviewer pointed out, this could potentially lead to inconsistencies or issues. If you are considering a longer stay and are approached with such an arrangement, it's advisable to have a clear understanding of the expectations and agreed-upon terms.
It's essential for local users searching for "camping near me" to be aware of all available information, including recent customer experiences. The provided reviews offer some insights that potential local campers should consider. One reviewer expressed significant concerns about safety, stating that the sheriff's office had visited the campground multiple times during their two-week stay. This is a serious concern that warrants careful consideration and potentially further inquiry with local authorities or the campground management. The reviewer also detailed difficulties in receiving a refund, highlighting potential issues with customer service and financial transactions.
Another reviewer, who stayed at Lost Creek Campground while looking for more permanent housing, mentioned the low monthly payment as a positive factor. However, they also raised concerns about the suitability of the campground for disabled veterans, pointing out the need for upgrades to bathrooms, walking paths, and overall cleanliness. This reviewer also noted issues with freezing water during the winter months, suggesting potential challenges with infrastructure during colder periods. These observations indicate that while the campground might offer an affordable option for some, there could be areas needing improvement, particularly regarding accessibility and maintenance.
Considering these reviews, local users searching for "camping near me" should approach Lost Creek Campground with cautious awareness. While the campground might offer a convenient location and potentially a lower cost of stay, the reported safety concerns and issues with facilities and customer service are significant factors to weigh. It is strongly recommended that local campers considering Lost Creek Campground contact the owner directly to discuss these concerns, inquire about recent improvements or changes in management, and get a clear understanding of the current conditions and policies. Visiting the campground in person before making a commitment might also be a prudent step to assess the environment and facilities firsthand.
For local residents actively searching for "camping near me," exploring other campgrounds in the Murray, Kentucky area might also be beneficial. Comparing the amenities, services, prices, and, importantly, recent customer reviews of multiple campgrounds will help you make an informed decision that best suits your needs and preferences for a safe and enjoyable camping experience. While Lost Creek Campground is a local option, ensuring it meets your expectations for safety, comfort, and service is paramount. We encourage you to conduct thorough due diligence before choosing your next local camping destination.

Lost Creek Campground Reviews
Not a safe place to stay, it looked like a great place when we came to check it out. In the 2 weeks I have been here the local sheriff's office has been here 6 times. It has been scary. I have been waiting since 11am for the owner to refund the money she owes. I have this all documented. I will post if she says this post is a lie. She couldn't transfer the money she said she had to go to the bank. It's $200. She has us still sitting here with my kids an dogs since this morning to pull out. She was able to take an employee lunch but not bring or transfer the funds back to my account. I cannot pull out if I do she doesn't have to refund the money. So the next step I will now have to call the sheriff out here myself to file a formal complaint so I can get my money. So very sad. I will update my review later in the week. It could be a very nice place if the owners cared about their business.
May 29, 2024 · Traci SouthallI travel for work and had had a hard time finding a place to live. Luckily I have a camper and basically picked Lost Creek because of the low monthly payment.Peggy, owner, tauts the campground as Veteran friendly. I was told that Veterans paid a discount price but found out Everyone pays the same. Everyone but me, was a Veteran. All really nice guys. Helpful. Sociable.I did notice that as campers rotated, Peggy would designated one as her campground helper.Offering a discount for jobs completed. I know that this could be a problem in collections. In order to say the Campground is for disabled Veterans, some upgrades will be necessary. Bathrooms. Walking paths. Clean up. And should be closed until winter is over. It was a rough winter with freezing water on and off. Hopefully next winter the problem will be fixed.
Mar 07, 2025 · Diane 0122Very quiet park. No highway or train noise, some horse traffic. Only squirrels rustling in the leaves and birds. Spots are grass on top of gravel. I found it nice not tracking in sand or mud. Kind of a tight back in and narrow gravel road entrance. Several trails and nice walk to the lake "was partially drained while we were there". Spots are 30amp with sewer might need little more than normal water hose for connection. Some veterans with dated campers if you judge people based on their possessions and not their character you will not like it here. Park manager extremely accommodating. We felt very safe and secure.
Nov 29, 2020 · Murf077I had stayed about 4 months and loved it nice people but very bad service one person takeing care of all the work and dose not even own it your camper will sick in the ground and the owner is a nice person at frist but stay you in the back within a second her employees would try to fight people and the power goes out about every 2 months because she won’t pay it with the rent money that you give her and dose not take care of the trash and will blame it on you and you can’t have anything outside of your camper if she has a problem with you and LEAVE HAS FAST AS YOU CAN don’t wast your money at all
Sep 17, 2024 · Nickolas HawsHad a reservation there, drove through. Disgusting is the word I will use. The bath house looks like it's about to cave in. The horrible smell is too much. No wonder it's only 400.00 a month. Turned around and hauled butt out of there. Peggy is not as sweet as she comes across at first. Beware!!!
