Teton Canyon Campground Reviews
Lovely campground by trailhead - 16 sites, 13/14/15 in open, several in forest/shade. Level sites with picnic table, fire pit. Spotless pit toilets (very clean, must be new). Lovely hosts. Highly recommend. Some dispersed sites along the gravel road if CG full or you don’t want to pay.
Aug 26, 2024 · Di RogeI stayed at site #7 and the rate is $12 a night without hookup. Very reasonable, especially because of the quality of this campground. It's worth going farther down road to this one. There were many sites that can accommodate tents and RVs with hookups - all have a bear box, fire ring, picnic table, and grill that can hold charcoal or wood. There are bathrooms and trash receptacles, and $6 bundles of wood. Dogs are allowed, leash is required. This campground has access to many trails, and parking areas along the road. Also has access to running water, both natural and by spigot within the grounds. Soothing atmosphere with the sound of water and being surrounded by beautiful trees, however there are sites that are more open as well. The trees definitely provide a feeling of separation from your neighbors. The campground manager is very pleasant, and the bathrooms are some of the cleanest I've seen at any campground. A highly suggested spot to camp right behind the Grand Tetons, hence Teton Canyon name. I saw a waterfall after some rain during my stay in June, and there are so many beautiful sights. The road is manageable for most vehicles, just drive slowly and navigate around the deeper points in the dirt road. No 4x4 required. You have to drive through Alta to get to this location, and very easy to drive up into Yellowstone from this location as well as over to the other side of the Tetons. Definitely, definitely recommend!!
Jul 01, 2020 · C YasoonNice setting in the trees up the mountain. Camped at site #8, right next to the creek, which was flowing very fast and was a bit loud (June 13th). You need to drive about 4 miles on a dirt road to get to the campground. Pit toilets and running water were close to our site. Bear country, so food lockers are provided at each site. We were a bit disappointed that the view of the mountains wasn't too clear.
Jun 14, 2018 · Evan MorierClean, beautiful, and great access to trails. Picnic tables and fire pits equipped for grilling. No showers, no cell phone service (T-Mobile), and the road is rough in the way in way in, but easily manageable in a 2WD van.
Jun 20, 2018 · Travis DeMeesterVery nice host. The campground is well kept and clean. Lot's of overgrowth of grass and weeds, which is what nature is! Creek running through is so beautiful.
