While the name itself, "This is my home next to my campground," might offer a unique glimpse into the owner's perspective, it's important to consider all aspects when planning your camping trip. You can reach them at (540) 660-9722 or +1 540-660-9722.
Based on recent customer feedback, the experience at This is my home next to my campground appears to be somewhat unconventional. Several reviewers have described the campground as "sparse" and situated in a remote location. The overall aesthetic and upkeep of the campground seem to be areas where improvements could be made, with one reviewer noting a perceived lack of effort in these aspects. The atmosphere has been described as having a "weird vibe," and the central structure, a prefab metal warehouse serving as the owner's residence, reportedly lacks a welcoming ambiance or consistent human presence.
While some campers reported positive interactions with fellow visitors, there doesn't seem to be a strong sense of community fostered within the campground itself. This might be a consideration for those seeking a more socially interactive camping experience.
Practical amenities at This is my home next to my campground have also received critical feedback. The single bathroom facility is described as "makeshift and funky," offering hot water but lacking ventilation and consistent cleanliness. The outdoor dishwashing sink is reportedly in disrepair, with broken plumbing, no hot water, and an accumulation of leaves and debris. For laundry needs, the available washer and dryer operate on coin-metered timers that some users found confusing compared to typical laundromat machines. Notably, there is no ice machine available for campers, which could be an inconvenience, especially during warmer months.
Concerns have also been raised regarding the welfare of a dog on the property, reportedly kept in a cage outdoors for extended periods, sometimes without adequate water or a clean environment. This is something potential campers who are animal lovers might want to consider.
The surrounding area, including nearby Keaton Beach, has faced significant challenges. Once considered a popular destination, the region was severely impacted by Hurricane Helene on September 26, 2024. While efforts have been made to clear hurricane debris, the overall atmosphere of the area is described as "depressed." This information is crucial for campers planning to explore attractions beyond the campground itself.
For local users searching for "camping near me," it's essential to weigh these firsthand accounts when considering This is my home next to my campground. While the basic need for a campsite might be met, the reviews suggest a more rustic and potentially less comfortable experience compared to other campgrounds in the vicinity. Factors such as the limited and reportedly subpar amenities, the lack of a welcoming atmosphere, and the condition of the surrounding area should be taken into account.
When exploring camping options in the "camping near me" category, it's always advisable to research multiple locations and compare their offerings, reviews, and amenities. Platforms dedicated to camping often provide detailed information and user ratings to help you make an informed decision. Consider what is most important for your camping experience, whether it's well-maintained facilities, a strong sense of community, proximity to attractions, or a peaceful and well-kept environment.
This objective overview, based on available customer reviews, aims to provide local users with a comprehensive understanding of what to expect at This is my home next to my campground. While it may offer a basic camping spot, potential visitors should be aware of the reported limitations and consider alternative options within the "camping near me" category to ensure a more satisfactory outdoor experience in the Perry, Florida region.

This is my home next to my campground Reviews
Very sparse camp in the middle of nowhere. Owned by trumpies who have difficulty communicating and seem to put almost no effort into the campground appearance or camper experience. Very weird vibe. Their house is a big prefab metal warehouse building in the center of the tiny compound but exudes zero sense of welcome, or often, even human presence. You can get a sense of this in her GoogleMap tag for the property...."my house in my campground". There's zero welcome or even acknowledgement of campers even in the tag name!I met some very good other campers here but there's no real community vibe between themselves. There's an abundance of "NO..." and "DON'T..." signs, and no signs of camping or happiness....or happy campers. The one tiny bathroom is makeshift and funky with oddly functional hot water, no ventilation and not exactly cleaned regularly. The outdoor sink for washing dishes is haphazardly placed, has no hot water, broken plumbing and is filled with leaves and debris. The washer and dryer run on meters which are timed by quarters and much more difficult to figure out than normal laundrymat machines. There's not even an ice machine for campers. Their cute dog is left outside in a little cage all day, sometimes without adequate water or a clean cage floor.Nearby Keaton Beach was supposed to be popular until recently, but the whole area, although largely cleaned of hurricane detritus, is wholly depressed and was devastated by Helene on September 26 2024.
