Twelve Mile Flat Campground Introduce
For local residents in Utah searching for "camping near me" within the scenic Manti-La Sal National Forest, Twelve Mile Flat Campground, located in LASAL, near Manti, UT, presents a camping option characterized by its natural beauty and accessibility to recreational activities. However, based on recent customer reviews, it's crucial for potential visitors to be aware of certain aspects regarding noise levels, campsite proximity, and the challenging access road to ensure a well-prepared and suitable camping experience. If you are an ATV enthusiast or a hiker looking for a basecamp amidst beautiful scenery, Twelve Mile Flat Campground might appeal to you, provided you are prepared for its specific characteristics.
The environment of Twelve Mile Flat Campground is consistently described as "very beautiful" with "tall pines," indicating a picturesque setting within the Manti-La Sal National Forest. The campground also offers a "short drive to lakes and skyline drive high point," suggesting proximity to scenic overlooks and potentially other natural attractions within the forest. This makes it an appealing location for those who appreciate natural beauty and wish to explore the surrounding area. However, one reviewer noted that the campsites are "close together," which might impact the sense of privacy and spaciousness for some campers.
In terms of services, Twelve Mile Flat Campground offers basic amenities, including "vault toilets" that were reported to be "clean." However, a significant drawback mentioned by both reviewers is the complete lack of water ("No water here"). Therefore, it is imperative that all campers bring an ample supply of water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene. This is a critical consideration for anyone planning to stay at this campground. There is no mention of other typical campground amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, or trash disposal, so campers should be prepared for a more rustic experience and adhere strictly to Leave No Trace principles.
The features of Twelve Mile Flat Campground seem to cater particularly to ATV users and hikers. One reviewer explicitly stated, "If your a hiker or atv user great." This suggests that the campground provides access to trails suitable for these activities, making it a convenient basecamp for outdoor adventures. However, this also contributes to a potential downside for those seeking a peaceful retreat, as the same reviewer noted that the campground can be "very loud" due to "people and machines" (presumably ATVs). They also mentioned that "most don't follow the quiet hours guideline," which can further detract from a tranquil experience. For campers prioritizing peace and quiet in the woods, this campground might not be the ideal choice.
A significant challenge highlighted by both reviewers is the access road to Twelve Mile Flat Campground. It is described as a "very long ride on extreme gravel road" with a "lot of washboard last." One camper experienced a flat tire on this road and had to travel to Richland, which is mentioned as the "closest place in emergency," to get it fixed. This underscores the importance of being well-prepared for the drive, including checking tires, carrying a spare, and having a first aid kit. The long and rough nature of the road also suggests that it might not be suitable for all types of vehicles, and travel time to and from the campground should be factored into trip planning.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Twelve Mile Flat Campground based on the provided reviews. As it appears to be a more rustic campground within a National Forest, it is unlikely to have specific promotions. For local residents searching for "camping near me" in the Manti-La Sal National Forest with a focus on ATV riding or hiking, Twelve Mile Flat Campground offers a location with beautiful surroundings and access to these activities. However, it is crucial to be fully aware of the potential for noise from other campers and ATVs, the close proximity of campsites, the complete lack of water requiring you to bring your own, and the challenging and long gravel road to access the campground. Preparedness for these conditions, including vehicle maintenance and bringing ample supplies, is essential for a positive experience. If peace and quiet are your top priorities for a camping trip, you might want to consider alternative campgrounds in the area.
In conclusion, Twelve Mile Flat Campground in the Manti-La Sal National Forest offers a beautiful setting and access to outdoor activities like ATV riding and hiking. Twelve Mile Flat Campground Reviews
This Campground is very beautiful. The sites are close together. We had a tent in site 14, which i recommend for tents. The issue was most had rv/ trailers and atv's. This Campground is best for that. Very loud, people and machines. Most don't follow the quiet hours guideline. If your a hiker or atv user great. Avoid the place if your looking for peace and quiet in the woods. Vault toilets were clean. No water here. Very long ride on, extreme gravel road. We got a flat , then had to get to Richland to fix it. Which is your closest place in emergency. B prepared for this type of place. Water, first aid. Check tires, long way down the mtn.

Sep 20, 2018 · Damien PlouzekA beautiful place to get away from it all. NO CELL SERVICE, so nice! Great place to have a camp fire, ride your bike and just generally let your soul air out.
