Twilight on the Erie RV Resort Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Macedon, NY area? Twilight on the Erie RV Resort, located at 1100 Marina Pkwy, Macedon, NY 14502, USA, offers both RV sites and cabin rentals. You can contact them at (315) 986-7337 or +1 315-986-7337. Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at this resort appear to be varied, with some guests praising the amenities and comfort, while others express concerns about noise and rules.
One reviewer who stayed in a cabin described a positive "glamping" experience. The cabin they occupied included an enclosed fire ring, an outdoor picnic table, and an outdoor rocking bench, enhancing the outdoor living aspect. Inside, the cabin was equipped with a queen-sized four-poster bed, recliners, a mini fridge/freezer combo, a microwave, a TV, a table and chairs, a big box fan, an overhead ceiling light and fan, and a space heater. This guest found the cabin to be "very comfortable" despite fluctuating temperatures and noted the peaceful atmosphere and friendly neighbors. They were also impressed by the "huge and very clean" shower/laundry house with "good water pressure." This paints a picture of well-appointed cabin accommodations and clean, functional shared facilities.
However, another reviewer had a significantly different experience, expressing dissatisfaction with the campground. A major concern raised was the frequent passage of trains, with a claim of "80+ trains a day" going by and sounding their horns "the entire time." This suggests a potentially noisy environment that could detract from the peacefulness of a camping trip. This reviewer also stated that the campground is "not a place for kids," though no specific reasons were given for this assessment.
Furthermore, this negative review highlighted strict enforcement of rules by the owners, referring to a "laundry list of rules." One specific rule mentioned was the prohibition of bringing your own firewood, requiring guests to purchase what the reviewer deemed "overpriced crap" from the campground. The entrance being a "huge hill" with signs about brake lights also suggests potential challenges or strictness regarding vehicle speed within the property.
The reviewer also mentioned "seasonal Karen’s that are on cinderblocks" who reportedly monitor and complain about the speed of passing cars, contributing to an atmosphere of being "under surveillance." This paints a picture of a campground where rules are heavily enforced, potentially impacting the sense of freedom and relaxation that some campers seek. The concluding remark likened the experience to "camping while under surveillance" with the "freedom of a maximum security prison," indicating a strong feeling of being overly regulated.
Considering these contrasting reviews, the environment at Twilight on the Erie RV Resort could be perceived differently depending on individual preferences and the specific location within the resort. Some may find the cabin area peaceful and comfortable, while others might be bothered by the proximity to train lines and the perceived strictness of the rules and other campers.
Services include cabin rentals with a range of amenities as described by the positive reviewer, as well as RV sites (mentioned indirectly when the reviewer noted their parents staying in an RV). The availability of a "huge and very clean" shower/laundry house with good water pressure is a notable service appreciated by at least one guest.
Features of the resort, based on the reviews, include well-equipped cabins with enclosed fire rings, picnic tables, rocking benches, and various indoor comforts. For RVers, sites are available, though details about hook-ups and other RV-specific amenities are not provided in these reviews. The potential for noise from frequent train traffic is a significant feature to consider, as is the enforcement of campground rules.
No specific promotional information is available in the provided text. To learn about current offers, seasonal rates, or any special packages, it would be best to contact Twilight on the Erie RV Resort directly via phone or their website (if available).
For local users looking for "camping near me," Twilight on the Erie RV Resort presents a mixed picture. If you are interested in a comfortable cabin stay with good amenities and don't mind potential train noise, it could be a viable option. However, if you prioritize a more laid-back atmosphere with fewer restrictions and less noise, you might want to weigh the negative feedback regarding the train traffic and the enforcement of rules.
To make an informed decision, it would be beneficial to seek additional reviews from various sources to get a broader perspective on the typical guest experience at Twilight on the Erie RV Resort.
In summary, based on the provided reviews:
- Environment: Potentially peaceful in cabin areas, but subject to significant noise from frequent train traffic according to one review. The presence of "seasonal Karen’s" monitoring traffic was also mentioned.
- Services: Cabin rentals with good amenities, a large and clean shower/laundry house with good water pressure. Rules are reportedly strictly enforced.
- Features: Well-equipped cabins with outdoor amenities like fire rings and picnic tables. Proximity to train lines is a notable (and for some, negative) feature.

Twilight on the Erie RV Resort Reviews
We stayed in one of the cabins for a week while my parents stayed in their RV at Reds. The Cabin included an enclosed fire ring, outdoor picnic table, outdoor rocking bench. Inside had many more amenities than I expected. Queen sized 4 post bed, recliners, mini fridge/freezer combo, microwave, TV, table and chairs. There was a big box fan, overhead ceiling light and fan and a space heater. We were very comfortable despite the cool evenings and hot days. Very peaceful and friendly neighbors. The shower/laundry house is huge and very clean! Good water pressure. Can’t say enough good things about our “glamping” experience!
Sep 17, 2024 · Kate RookDid not enjoy this campground. 80+ trains a day go by and lay on their horns the entire time. Not a place for kids either. The owners patrol the campground enforcing a laundry list of rules. You can’t bring your own firewood. Have to buy their overpriced crap. The entrance is a huge hill and there’s signs that say if we can’t see your brake lights you’re going too fast. Then the seasonal Karen’s that are on cinderblocks sit in their chairs with natty lights yelling at any car they deem going too fast. So if you enjoy camping while under surveillance and have the freedom of a maximum security prison this place is for you.
Oct 07, 2024 · Brian PapeWe had 11 campers go in to Reds .. It was a great weekend of friends. Can’t thank Red and Barb enough for such a great place to camp… we’ve always have been treated fantastic.. Can’t wait till next year to go again ..
Oct 07, 2024 · Tom RadkaCampground was beautiful. Store was nice - I may have gotten a few ice creams:) rocked spots are skinny, just enough width for your camper and there is not an area in your spot that is rock or cement for you to set up and they understandably don't want mats on the grass.
Jun 11, 2024 · Colleen HicksJust had an 8 night stay at Red's. The camp ground is very nice, although relatively pricey for the campground its self. The owner himself, Red, is a wonderful person and I had the opportunity to speak with him for a little bit. I was concerned with all the 'rules' from other reviews, however it is a campground, and there are children. Be respectful, and drive slowly. That is what we did and we were not hassled once.We did not have any issues at the pool, however I did notice others have issues with children jumping in the pool.. not diving, just jumping and being kids. A seasonal camper scolded the children, that in my opinion were just being kids. I explained the rules to my kids, and they followed them and we have no issues. Just some rules such as no jumping into the pool, is slightly overboard. There are some nicer campgrounds within a half hour area, for the same price or cheaper. We tend to stay in the Rochester area for a week or two every year on our 8 week summer trip with the kids. Most likely, we will choose a different campground that provides a slightly better value.
