- Hiking & Backpacking: The campground offers "easy access to breath taking trails." The Big Pine Creek Trail, a 1.5-mile footpath, provides access to the John Muir Wilderness, leading to stunning views of Palisades Glacier (the southernmost glacier in the US) and a series of picturesque glacial lakes (often described as turquoise and at elevations around 10,000 feet). This is ideal for both day hikes and extended backpacking trips.

Oct 16, 2023 · Nader BNice camp ground. The bathroom is super clean which is a plus. Another plus is a gallon of water placed in the bear box to put off the pit fire.
Aug 06, 2024 · JNMVery nice campground right by the river (good white noise).
Jul 06, 2024 · Yasser SeifNice area for the most part. We stayed at camp site #19. Though it is a large site and has direct access to the water, the land by the water smells like feces. I believe the compositing system for the toilet is leaking through the ground and coming out next to the water. There is no other real explanation for the saturated soil and the smell in this single location.
Aug 26, 2019 · RickySteep grade, our diesel engine got too hot so had to pull over for a bit. No hookups. Beautiful running stream. Very clean campground.
