Wildwood RV Village Introduce
For local residents and travelers in the Wildwood, Florida area seeking a convenient "camping near me" option, particularly for RVs, Wildwood RV Village, located at 882 FL-44, Wildwood, FL 34785, USA, offers a large facility with a range of amenities. The availability of phone numbers (352) 748-2774 and +1 352-748-2774 provides easy contact for local users to inquire about availability and services. Based on recent customer reviews, Wildwood RV Village presents a mixed picture of convenience and cleanliness balanced against potential noise and a lack of certain expected amenities.
The environment of Wildwood RV Village is significantly shaped by its proximity to major transportation routes and commercial establishments. One reviewer noted that it is located "Right off the highway and you can walk to several places for food." This highlights a key advantage for those seeking an easily accessible overnight stop or a base with nearby conveniences. The proximity to "highway 75" and a "truck stop right next door" also defines the auditory environment, which may not be ideal for those seeking a completely tranquil setting. Local users prioritizing convenience and accessibility over absolute quiet when searching for "camping near me" might find this location suitable.
In terms of services and features, Wildwood RV Village offers several appreciated amenities. Multiple reviewers specifically mentioned the cleanliness of the "restrooms/showers," which is a significant factor for comfort and hygiene during travel. The presence of a "laundry facility" is also a valuable feature, particularly for those on longer trips or local residents needing access to laundry services while camping. The park also features a "pool," which was noted as "nice," providing a recreational option for guests, especially during warmer Florida weather.
However, the reviews also point out some notable omissions in terms of expected campground amenities. One visitor expressed disappointment that "no one had a picnic table or a fire ring." These are standard features at many campgrounds, and their absence could be a drawback for local users planning to enjoy outdoor meals or campfires at their sites. The lack of "other outdoor games like shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball" might also be a consideration for those seeking on-site recreational activities beyond the pool.
The sheer size of Wildwood RV Village is mentioned, with one reviewer describing it as a "Huge place" with "good dog walking" areas. This is a significant benefit for RV travelers and local campers with pets, providing ample space for exercise and walks. The park also has a distinct zoning, with the "majority seasonals but transient sites completely separate." This separation could be a positive aspect for overnight or short-term local campers, potentially offering a different atmosphere from the more permanent residents.
A recurring concern in the reviews is the noise level. The proximity to the "truck stop" and "highway 75" is explicitly mentioned as a potential source of noise. One reviewer stated, "if you are opposed to some noise from that or highway probably not the place for you." This is a critical consideration for local users sensitive to noise, especially during sleeping hours. While the convenience of the location is a plus, the trade-off appears to be a potentially noisy environment.
Safety was also a concern for one visitor, who mentioned, "I would have felt a little safer if there had been a fence or something between us and the highway and truckstop." This suggests that the lack of a physical barrier between the campground and the adjacent commercial and transportation areas might be a point of discomfort for some local campers regarding security and noise mitigation.
The office staff at Wildwood RV Village received positive feedback, with one reviewer noting they were "very friendly." This positive interaction with staff can contribute significantly to a positive overall experience, addressing inquiries and providing assistance to local campers during their stay.
In terms of promotional information, the reviews do not mention any specific discounts or special offers. The primary implicit "promotion" is the convenience of the location right off the highway and its proximity to walkable food options, making it a practical stop for travelers and potentially a convenient base for local explorations. The cleanliness of the facilities and the availability of laundry are also positive selling points.
For local users seeking a "camping near me" option primarily for RVs in the Wildwood area, Wildwood RV Village offers a large park with clean essential facilities and a convenient location near the highway and amenities. The separate transient sites are a potential benefit for short-term stays. However, potential drawbacks include the absence of picnic tables and fire rings at individual sites, a lack of outdoor games beyond the pool, and significant noise from the adjacent truck stop and highway. Safety concerns related to the lack of a barrier between the park and these areas were also raised. Local campers should weigh these pros and cons based on their individual priorities when considering Wildwood RV Village for their "camping near me" needs.

Wildwood RV Village Reviews
The restrooms/showers were very clean and we were thankful for the laundry facility. The pool looked nice but there weren't any other outdoor games like shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball. We were disappointed that no one had a picnic table or a fire ring. We were also disappointed with the noise from the truck stop and highway 75. I would have felt a little safer if there had been a fence or something between us and the highway and truckstop.

Majority seasonals but transient sites completely separate. Truck stop right next door if you are opposed to some noise from that or highway probably not the place for you. Would stop again for overnight.
Mar 19, 2025 · Mary Ellen SeveranceNot happy with these people. First place that has ever turned my rig away. We have stayed at places across the country with no issues (Disney/Keys). This place must be very fancy. From the other reviews it does not look fancy. Thanks for putting me in this situation days before arrival.
Feb 22, 2025 · Buck KimbroughOMG, we tried to book online, couldn't so we called. Online price $60 something, when you called $80 something. We arrive and they put us by they're pond... what a joke. Asked why we can't be put in the back where it's quieter and I'm told those are long term. Asked why they have camping in their parking lot.. that's our short term. Wouldn't recommend this place. We love to camp but not here. Read the reviews...long term residents sure are complaining. Wish we would have read them before we arrived, sounds like new ownership is all about the $$$
Dec 06, 2024 · Carolyn HaggardDon't waster your time coming here ..WHAT A DUMP!!! Now I know why this place went bankruped 3 times, Staff Rude, Bathrooms Very Dirty . Very Dirty campground , Internet doesn't work , campers don't pick up after ther dogs.Laundry mat very Dirty ..BEWARE when you store your camper here ...IF they decided they want to clean the yard up they will have your camper towed out of the storage area without contacting the owner ,They stole my camper.I only paid $6000 for the camper so I didn't cry to much! I paid $100 a month storage fee for 2 years who knows where that money went ..Area has nothing to offer its right next to a truck stop you here trucks backing up all night ..24/7 ..Loud !! beep ,,beep ,,beep I hope this review helped have a nice day campers !!!
