Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park of Wisconsin Dells Introduce
For local users in the Wisconsin Dells area searching for "camping near me" with a family-friendly focus and a range of amenities, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park of Wisconsin Dells, located at S1915 Ishnala Rd, Baraboo, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While some guests have had "marvelous" times and praised the staff, others have reported significant concerns regarding campsite conditions, food service, and the attentiveness of certain staff members. A balanced overview is essential for local users to make an informed decision.
The environment of Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park of Wisconsin Dells is characterized by its family-oriented atmosphere and the inclusion of water-based recreational areas. The campground features a "pool and water park area," which, while described as "small," was still considered "enjoyable" by one visitor. This suggests that while not expansive, the water attractions offer a source of fun for families, particularly children. The presence of a game room provides an indoor entertainment option, although one reviewer noted that the pool table was missing some balls, indicating potential issues with the upkeep of this amenity. The campground aims to provide a variety of activities, but one visitor felt that there weren't "as many activities as I had thought" and that the craft area had limited engagement. This suggests that the level and variety of planned activities might not meet all expectations.
In terms of services, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park of Wisconsin Dells demonstrates both positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, the staff received high praise from one guest who experienced a mechanical problem with their motorhome. This reviewer described the staff as "the most understanding and accommodating," highlighting their willingness to go "above and beyond" in offering assistance and working with other guests to resolve the situation. This indicates a commendable level of customer service in certain circumstances. Additionally, the initial handling of a reservation mistake was appreciated by another guest, as the staff "quickly called back to resolve it." However, other service areas received criticism. One visitor reported a significant issue with the food service, where their daughter waited over 20 minutes for chicken tenders only to be told they had run out, followed by a long wait for a "mediocre" pizza. This suggests potential problems with food availability and preparation times. Another concerning service issue was the behavior of a lifeguard who was observed to be inattentive when multiple children were present in the water park, contrasting with their attentiveness when only one child was there.
The features of Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park of Wisconsin Dells include its water park, pool, and game room, which are intended to provide entertainment for guests. The mention of a craft area suggests planned activities, although the level of engagement appears to be inconsistent. However, the campsites themselves received significant negative feedback. One visitor who drove around to inspect the campsites described them as "horrible," noting "absolutely no space between you and your neighbors." This lack of privacy can detract significantly from the camping experience. Furthermore, "most sites, if not all, were unleveld," which can make setting up and staying in a tent or RV uncomfortable. The observation that "some sites were right by the road with no barrier for safety" raises concerns, particularly for families with young children. These campsite conditions are a major drawback reported by at least one visitor.
Promotional information is somewhat contradictory based on the reviews. The fact that the campground had been "highly recommended" to one visitor suggests a positive reputation or effective marketing. The positive experiences of guests who had a "marvelous time" and whose "grandkids loved all the things to do" serve as strong endorsements, highlighting the family-friendly appeal and the availability of activities that children enjoy. The exceptional support provided by the staff during a mechanical emergency also reflects positively on the campground's service. However, the detailed negative feedback regarding campsite conditions (lack of space, unlevel ground, proximity to the road without barriers) and issues with food service and lifeguard attentiveness present significant challenges to a purely positive promotion. Potential local users need to weigh these contrasting experiences when considering a stay.
The lack of pictures of the campsites on the website, as mentioned by one reviewer, is a significant omission that could lead to discrepancies between expectations and reality. This lack of transparency might contribute to the negative surprise experienced by the visitor who found the campsites to be "horrible." For local users considering this campground, it would be prudent to inquire specifically about campsite sizes, leveling, and proximity to amenities or roads before making a reservation to avoid potential disappointment.
In conclusion, for local users in the Wisconsin Dells area searching for "camping near me," Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park offers a family-oriented destination with a water park, pool, and game room, suggesting potential for fun and entertainment, especially for children. The staff has been praised for their helpfulness in certain situations. However, potential visitors should be aware of significant concerns raised by some guests regarding the campsites, which were described as crowded, unlevel, and sometimes dangerously close to the road. There have also been reports of issues with food service and inconsistent lifeguard attentiveness. While some families have had "marvelous" times, the lack of privacy, poor campsite conditions, and service inconsistencies are crucial factors that local users should consider carefully before choosing Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park of Wisconsin Dells for their camping getaway. It would be advisable to seek more detailed information about specific campsite locations and amenities prior to booking to ensure a satisfactory experience.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park of Wisconsin Dells Reviews
This campground had been highly recommended to us. We did day passes during Labor Day weekend because we weren't sure we were going to like the campsites as there are no pictures available on their website. When I called to make the reservation, they made a mistake but quickly called back to resolve it. That was appreciated. When we arrived, there was no line, so we were able to get through pretty quickly. The pool and water park areas were small but still enjoyable. The game room was decent, but the pool table was missing some of the balls. There weren't as many activities as I had thought. Not much was going on in the craft area, either. My kids got a bit hungry, so we decided to get some food. My daughter waited over 20 minutes at the counter after ordering her chicken tenders only to be told they had run out (at 3 p.m.). Then she had to wait again for an individual pizza that was mediocre at best. The lifeguard? Walked around the water park when my child was the only one there, but sat down (not even paying attention) when multiple other kinds showed up.When we were done, we decided to drive around to see the campsites. Frankly, they were horrible. Absolutely no space between you and your neighbors. Most sites, if not all, were unleveld. Some sites were right by the road with no barrier for safety. For us, it is definitely not a good camping spot.
Oct 14, 2024 · Maria BernalWe have a marvelous time at Jellystone. Our campsite was perfect and our grandkids loved all the things to do.We had a mechanical problem with our motorhome on the day we were to leave. The staff was the most understanding and accommodating. They offered help to find service, worked with the family that was to be in the campsite we were in and just went above and beyond my expectations!!!Thanks so much Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park -- we WILL be back.
Dec 23, 2024 · Jane GlanderVery bad management, we had a reservation for 2 nights in three cabins, the lady doing the reservation made a mistake with one of them and reserved only one night, we were not aware of that. We paid and trust them and when we got there they told us we had to leave one of the cabins and we didn’t know what was going on, I went to the management see what happened and they told us they couldn’t do anything about it and no body took responsibility of their mistake. Very upset because we went there to have a good time and these people are so he to work with and the place is not even cheap. The owner wasn’t there and they told us if he wasn’t there they couldn’t do anything about it.What kind of business is that without a manager in charge!Very disappointed and very upset the way they managed customer services. I wish I wouldn’t made reservations with them ever.Plus bathrooms are dirty all the time. Not mentioning that we had a bat inside the cabin at night.Terrible experience!Terrible experience.
Jan 30, 2025 · MiriThe location was super convenient. The road noise was very loud, which we never quite got used to. Service was mediocre at best. They offered a lot of activities, but only followed through with half. We went above and beyond to decorate, and never heard if anyone won. They have overly strict rules about the pool. My son had a mishap with his snorkel, and they kicked him out of the pool permanently. That was so unfair!! The washer died and we never got our $ back. Just a lot of annoying things. The only good is that the option to buy food made this location a will return. 3 out 5, and maybe we see next year.
Oct 04, 2024 · Star SheaHighly recommend. After seeing some comments I was worried but once we got here and saw all the positive things the staff is doing I was highly impressed. Not only are they renovating while staying open they are making it a great experience for families. The pool, mini golf, and all the extra things they plan are definitely worth every penny! We stayed for a week and loved it. I definitely appreciated the staff as we have a special needs child and the staff were so amazing with her. Sadly our issues were with other guests. Adults and children! Which is sad. Just because a child looks different doesn’t mean they have a disease or are different. Adults need to do better. There were a few language barrier issues but if you take the time and are patient you can get past that. We’ve been to many Jellystones and this is by far the best we’ve been to.
