This meticulous attention to detail in maintaining the grounds likely contributes to a pleasant and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for all visitors.
Anchor Down RV Resort seems to offer a variety of RV site configurations to cater to different needs. One review specifically mentioned "buddy sites 93 & 94," which are designed to accommodate two RVs in a way that facilitates shared amenities, such as a firepit in this instance. The presence of a firepit adds to the outdoor experience, providing a focal point for gatherings and relaxation. For those seeking more space, another reviewer recommended sites "on top of the hill," noting that these spots offer a bit more room without compromising the beautiful lake views. The fact that guests can park both their vehicles and a 40’ camper with "plenty of room" on some sites indicates that the lots are generally spacious and well-proportioned.
The resort boasts several notable features that contribute to a positive guest experience. The inclusion of a dog park is a significant amenity for RVers traveling with pets. This level of staff engagement and support can significantly enhance the overall guest experience and create a welcoming atmosphere.
While the vast majority of feedback is overwhelmingly positive, one reviewer expressed disappointment that the pool was not open during their stay, especially with high temperatures. This suggests that a pool is an amenity offered at the resort, although its operational status might vary depending on the season or other factors. For local users considering a stay, especially during warmer months, it would be prudent to inquire about the pool's availability.

Anchor Down RV Resort Reviews
Anchor Down RV Resort was absolutely beautiful! We stayed in buddy sites 93 & 94 and really enjoyed the setup—especially the firepit. The lake view is stunning, and the entire property is incredibly well maintained. If you prefer more spacious sites, I’d recommend staying on top of the hill—those spots offer a little more room without sacrificing the view. The dog park is one of the best we’ve seen at any RV resort, and the staff were friendly and very present throughout our stay. Highly recommend! We wished the pool was open especially being 93 degrees one day!
Apr 19, 2025 · Nicole JohnsonThis is probably the most beautiful, well maintained rv resort I have ever seen. We stayed in site 23 and had spectacular views. The lots were big enough for us to park both vehicles plus our 40’ camper and still had plenty of room. The property upkeep is perfection at its best. Staff is visible and present to offer any needs you may have. My son wrecked his bicycle and one of the sweet lady workers beat us to him and was caring for him immediately and even came to check on him the next day. Thankfully the worst was a broken arm 😞. We had such an amazing trip and this resort was the highlight. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this be your next stop!
Apr 09, 2025 · Stephen lyellThis was our second time staying at Anchor Down, and there will be more. We stayed at site 102 last year and had site 53 this trip. Both are their “premier” sites with the nice stamped concrete pads and wonderful stone fireplaces. The sites are level and have plenty of room for our coach and toad. The staff is super friendly at the office and support staff. Roger does a great job making sure your site is clean and ready for you! Firewood is available, $20 for three tubs of split, seasoned hardwood, delivered to your site. The views of Douglas lake are spectacular. During the summer the pool with water slide is super popular. They also have a huge are of water toys in their cove lakeside. Easy in and out of the campground and sites. The parking area for your vehicle trailer is convenient and secure. The dog park was a hit with our pooches. We will be back.
Mar 11, 2025 · Darren OnwilerOne of the best campgrounds in Tennessee that we've been to so far. Camp host is great and everyone is pleasant to be around and very helpful. I have been here several years and will continue to come.
Apr 19, 2025 · Bryan GurleyWhat. A. View. Anchor Down is spectacular and we were there too early in the year to utilize the pool, lake, etc. Facilities are clean and well kept. The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. Would certainly go back, only change would be to visit in the warmer months. We stayed at site 109 and the firepit was Ahhhh-Mazing!
