Aspen Basalt Mobile Home Park Introduce
For those exploring long-term housing options in the highly sought-after Roaring Fork Valley, particularly in the vicinity of Basalt, Colorado, Aspen Basalt Mobile Home Park presents itself as a key community. While a search for "RV parks near me" might yield diverse results, it's important to clarify that Aspen Basalt Mobile Home Park is primarily a manufactured home community for permanent or long-term residents, not a temporary RV campground. Located at 1900 Willits Ln #8A, Basalt, CO 81621, USA, the park can be reached by phone at (970) 618-2999 or mobile at +1 970-618-2999.
The environment of Aspen Basalt Mobile Home Park is complex, reflecting both the challenges and the unique opportunities of living in a desirable Colorado location. Geographically, it is ideally situated at the corner of Highway 82 and Willits Lane in Basalt, providing central access to the entire Roaring Fork Valley. This means residents are just minutes away from the vibrant Willits Town Center, offering a diverse mix of unique restaurants, boutique retail shops, office spaces, and residential lofts. Furthermore, it's approximately 30 minutes from the ski slopes of Aspen and the breathtaking Independence Pass, making it an attractive location for outdoor enthusiasts and those working in the ski industry. The community boasts beautiful mountain views in every direction, and residents can walk along the scenic Roaring Fork River right outside the park, connecting them directly with nature.
However, customer reviews provide a more nuanced perspective on the immediate living environment within the park itself. One review describes the "trailer park" as "horrible" with "incredibly bad" parking where "no one parked where they’re supposed to." This suggests issues with organization and adherence to parking rules, potentially leading to congestion. The presence of "huge speed bumps" is also mentioned, which could be a functional aspect but also an inconvenience. The cleanliness of the park is also brought into question, with the reviewer stating it's "not necessarily very clean." Another aspect highlighted is the prevalence of dogs, with "a lot of them are chained up," which can raise concerns about animal welfare and the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of the park for some residents.
Despite these criticisms, the mobile homes themselves within the park are noted for their design. One reviewer stated, "These Mobile homes are a great set up. Very efficient use of space." This indicates that the internal layout and functionality of the homes are generally well-regarded, even if the living room might be "a little too small." A significant point of concern for residents, however, is the park's infrastructure, specifically the roads and lots. The reviewer explicitly states, "They badly need to pave the road and lot." This suggests that the current unpaved or poorly maintained roads contribute to the perceived lack of cleanliness and potentially affect the ease of navigation within the park.
Aspen Basalt Mobile Home Park is managed by Investment Property Group (IPG Living), which acquired the 79-space park in January 2019. As an "all age manufactured home community," it caters to a diverse resident base. The community website highlights a range of amenities designed for convenience and comfort. These include a basketball court, a playground, and BBQ & picnic tables, suggesting spaces for recreation and social gatherings. The park is also explicitly "Pet Friendly," a significant feature for many residents, though the customer review about chained dogs might indicate a disconnect between policy and resident practices.
The park's role in the local housing landscape is crucial. Mobile home parks in the Roaring Fork Valley, including Aspen Basalt, are often integral to providing affordable housing in a region with notoriously high living costs. For many residents, particularly Hispanic families and blue-collar workers who are essential to the local economy (bagging groceries, cleaning homes, working in service industries), these communities are not just affordable housing options but tight-knit neighborhoods with their own culture and shared experiences. This emphasizes the social and economic importance of such parks, even when faced with infrastructural or management challenges.
Promotional information, as gleaned from the park's official website, focuses on its desirable location and community amenities. It is positioned as a place where residents can "enjoy the convenience of being centrally located" and "walk along the scenic Roaring Fork River right outside the park." This highlights the park's strong natural and locational advantages. However, the feedback from residents points to a need for more direct investment in the physical infrastructure, particularly paving the roads and lots, to match the quality of the surrounding environment and the stated goal of providing comfortable living.
The community's management maintains summer office hours from March 15 to November 15 (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, closed Saturday and Sunday) and winter office hours from November 16 to March 14 (same weekday hours, closed Saturday and Sunday). This indicates a consistent presence of management for addressing resident needs during business hours.
In summary, Aspen Basalt Mobile Home Park in Basalt, CO, serves as a significant long-term housing option in the Roaring Fork Valley. While it is not an RV park for transient stays, it offers manufactured homes in a prime location with easy access to nature, shopping, and major ski resorts. The park provides amenities such as a basketball court, playground, and picnic areas, and is pet-friendly. However, direct resident feedback highlights ongoing issues with internal infrastructure, particularly unpaved roads and parking, as well as concerns regarding community cleanliness and pet management. Despite these challenges, the park plays a vital role in providing relatively more affordable housing in an expensive region, fostering a sense of community for its residents. Prospective residents should consider both the appealing location and amenities, alongside the practical concerns raised by current residents, when evaluating Aspen Basalt Mobile Home Park as a potential long-term home.

This trailer park is horrible. The parking is incredibly bad no one no one parked where they’re supposed to most people have dogs. A lot of them are chained up. The speed bumps are huge. It’s not necessarily very clean.
