Bear Mountain RV Resorts Introduce
Welcome to Bear Mountain RV Resorts, located at 14216 Bear Mountain Rd in Redding, California. For local users searching for 'RV parks near me' that offer a natural retreat with access to outdoor activities, Bear Mountain RV Resorts presents a location with both promising aspects and areas of concern highlighted by recent visitors.
The environment surrounding Bear Mountain RV Resorts is described as naturally appealing, offering a "very quiet" atmosphere at night, which allows for excellent stargazing with a clear view of "all the stars in the sky!" The area is also home to "lots of wild life," suggesting an immersive experience in nature. For outdoor enthusiasts, the park boasts "trails to no end to hike," providing ample opportunities for exploration and exercise. Additionally, the resort is conveniently located just "a few minutes away" from a lake and is also within reasonable proximity to town, offering a balance between natural seclusion and access to urban amenities.
One visitor, who initially highly recommended the park after two months of living there, later revised their opinion due to emerging issues. A significant concern raised was the apparent problem of theft, with the reviewer stating that "stuff gets stolen your 1st night here seems to be a thing." This is a serious security concern for potential guests and warrants careful consideration. The presence of "lots and lots of of cats running around" was also noted as a negative aspect. Furthermore, the reviewer expressed significant annoyance with "non stop dog barking," which could detract from the peaceful enjoyment of the natural surroundings. Finally, this visitor expressed nervousness about the fire season in the area, though they also mentioned a willingness to help with cleanup efforts.
More recent feedback indicates that there is "new management" in place, which is perceived as "way better than old management." This suggests a positive change in the park's administration and potential improvements in its operation. The new management is described as "very straightforward on what is expected of you," which can be beneficial in establishing clear guidelines for residents and guests. Additionally, the "maintenance crew" is commended for "really cleaning the place up a lot," addressing potential concerns about the park's upkeep.
However, the new management's office hours are noted as potentially inconvenient for working individuals. The office is reportedly open only "a few days a week" and for limited hours on those days, which could make it challenging for those with regular work schedules to access management for inquiries or assistance. Despite the limited hours, the management is described as "helpful and friendly," suggesting a positive interaction when they are available.
The new management has also been undertaking tree maintenance, with the maintenance crew "cutting a little to many trees down" according to one reviewer's personal preference. While the reviewer acknowledges that "some of them are dead and need removal," they expressed uncertainty about the necessity of removing all the trees being cut. This observation highlights a potential change in the park's landscape that may be viewed differently by various visitors.
Considering the category of 'RV parks near me,' Bear Mountain RV Resorts offers a location with natural attractions like quiet nights, stargazing, wildlife, hiking trails, and proximity to a lake. The new management appears to be making efforts to improve the park's cleanliness and has a straightforward communication style. However, potential guests should be aware of the reported issues of theft, the presence of stray cats, potential noise from dog barking, and the limited office hours. The ongoing tree removal may also impact the aesthetic environment of the park.
There is no explicit promotional information provided in the reviews. However, the initial positive impressions of the natural environment – the quiet nights, stargazing, wildlife, and hiking trails – can be seen as inherent promotional aspects of the location. The mention of new management being better than the old and the active cleanup efforts could also be considered positive developments that might attract new visitors.
In conclusion, Bear Mountain RV Resorts in Redding, CA, offers a potentially attractive natural setting with opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and enjoying the nearby lake. The new management is reportedly an improvement and is actively working on cleaning up the park. However, prospective guests should be aware of the reported security concerns regarding theft, the presence of stray cats, potential noise from dog barking, and the limited office hours. The ongoing tree removal may also be a consideration for those who value a heavily wooded environment. For local users searching for 'RV parks near me' with a focus on nature and tranquility, Bear Mountain RV Resorts presents a mixed picture with both appealing natural attributes and areas where improvements or personal tolerance might be necessary.

Bear Mountain RV Resorts Reviews
Very quiet at night. Can see all the stars in the sky! Have lots of wild life here. Trails to no end to hike.. lake isn't but a few minutes away... Town isn't far either! NOW after living here for two months I am not so highly recommending this park until they continue to clean up the park! Stuff gets stolen your 1st night here seems to be a thing. Lots and lots of of cats running around and don't get me started on the non stop dog barking! Very nervous about the fire season this year out there, but can help clean that up ourselves.
Mar 11, 2025 · Cora ShearerNew management way better than old management. Office hours not real good for working people, only a few days a week and not open very long on the days they are there however helpful and friendly just not set up for people that work for a living. Very straightforward on what is expected of you and the maintenance crew really cleaning the place up a lot. Cutting a little to many trees down for my taste but some of them are dead and need removal just not sure all being removed are necessary just my thoughts.
Apr 06, 2021 · William KelleherThis is the worst place I've ever stayed in! They lock bathrooms at 8 pm so no one can use the facilities! Management is living on site and very rude and nosey! Only one bathroom works for the whole park and when I was there if was locked the entire weekend, when I asked about it was told it's been locked for weeks! They treat there tenets like garbage I heard the manager yelling at a resident about a piece of paper bag in her yard and to be honest the lady had the best yard in the whole park. I felt bad for the old lady. Someone should definitely get a hold of B.B.B or report to someone I'll never stay there and dinner recommend anybody else stay there either
Apr 12, 2021 · Josh PowersI liked it a lot more before the new owners it was an affordable place to live and easy to get into. Now the new owners act like living there is a life of luxury. I mean come on if you don't have a Prius you can't even afford to go home after a trip to town.
Dec 28, 2020 · fast laneI go there to use the coin-op showers. They usually work well.Edit: I USED to go use their showers. That is, until the owner and a woman, I'm assuming was her daughter, very rudely told me I was not allowed to use their facilities. Haven't been back.
