Bud's RV Park & Marina Introduce
Welcome to Bud's RV Park & Marina, a charming and evolving destination for RV travelers and boating enthusiasts located at 1700 Tiger Lake Rd, Lake Wales, FL 33898, USA. If you're searching for 'RV parks near me' in the Lake Wales area and desire a tranquil setting with direct access to a beautiful lake and marina facilities, Bud's RV Park & Marina offers a unique "old Florida" experience with exciting improvements underway. Situated in Polk County, Lake Wales is known for its natural beauty, lakes, and citrus groves, providing a serene backdrop for your stay.
Recent customer reviews paint a picture of a "great place" characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and exceptional access to Tiger Lake and its marina. One visitor who stayed in their RV and brought their boat enthusiastically shared, "Great place. Low key and having access to the marina and launching is awesome! We stayed here in our RV and brought our little boat. Tiger lake is beautiful and you can get to Lake Kissimmee too from here." This highlights a significant feature of Bud's RV Park & Marina: its direct access to Tiger Lake, a beautiful body of water that also provides a connection to the larger Lake Kissimmee, opening up vast opportunities for boating and exploration.
The natural environment surrounding Bud's RV Park & Marina is consistently praised for its peacefulness and beauty. The park is described as being "Surrounded by nature," offering a tranquil escape. One long-term camper who stayed for a month in January 2023 elaborated on the scenic qualities, noting, "The live oak trees hanging with Spanish Moss set the tone. Everywhere are Staghorn Ferns and other tropical plants growing in the trees. Tiger Lake is lovely. Our daily walks took us all over the small park when we always some new natural sight." This imagery evokes a classic Florida landscape, rich with natural charm and biodiversity.
Wildlife sightings are also a notable feature of the environment around Bud's RV Park & Marina. The reviewer mentioned encountering "Gray Herons, egrets, sandhill Cranes, baby alligators, gopher turtles, fox squirrels and owls," indicating a vibrant ecosystem that nature lovers will appreciate. Additionally, the unique experience of potentially seeing "Cape Canaveral launches off in the distance on a clear day or night" adds an intriguing element to the location.
Under new ownership by Bess and Will Hicks, Bud's RV Park & Marina is undergoing significant positive changes. The reviewer who stayed for a month reported that the new owners "are updating the sandy roads to asphalt and generally refurbishing and updating this old fish camp." This commitment to improvements suggests that guests can look forward to enhanced infrastructure and facilities. The friendly and welcoming nature of the owners is also highlighted, with one guest expressing gratitude to a previous owner ("Thanks Mr.C for the hospitality!") and another wishing the new owners well ("We wish the energetic new owners Bess and Will Hicks all the best").
In terms of services and features, Bud's RV Park & Marina offers "All of the sites are full hookup," which is a significant convenience for RV travelers. Laundry facilities are also available ("They have laundry facilities were a welcome extra"), providing an essential amenity for longer stays. While one reviewer noted that "the bathroom was usable though dated," this aligns with the ongoing refurbishment efforts, suggesting potential future improvements to these facilities. Recycling bins are also provided, indicating an environmental consciousness within the park.
The marina is a major highlight, offering a fantastic resource for boaters with launching access. The excellent fishing opportunities, both "from boat or shore," further enhance the appeal for anglers. The new owners have plans for additional amenities, including "a small store and weekly activities," which will likely contribute to a more vibrant and convenient guest experience in the future.
While there is currently no dedicated website (as of January 2023, with only a Facebook link available), a website is reportedly "being created." This indicates that the new owners are working to improve their online presence and provide more information to prospective guests. The prices are described as "reasonable" but are expected to "go up a bit as improvements are completed," reflecting the added value that the renovations will bring.
For those looking for the best camping spots within the park, a seasoned visitor recommended specific sites: "The best sites as of now are 12, 13, 30, 31, 39, 40, 41, 42." This insider tip can be valuable for those planning their stay. The presence of "quite a few permanent campers" is also mentioned, and efforts are underway to clean up those sites, which should further enhance the overall appearance of the park.
From a promotional perspective, Bud's RV Park & Marina offers a unique blend of natural beauty, lake access, and ongoing improvements under enthusiastic new ownership. For those searching for 'RV parks near me' that provide a low-key, nature-oriented experience with excellent boating and fishing opportunities on Tiger Lake (and access to Lake Kissimmee), Bud's is an ideal choice. The friendly owners and the visible efforts to upgrade the park add to its appeal. The promise of a future store and weekly activities suggests a growing and more engaging community atmosphere.
The "old Florida style" charm, coupled with the modern convenience of full hookups and the natural wonders of the surrounding environment, makes Bud's RV Park & Marina a compelling destination for those seeking a genuine Florida experience away from the crowded tourist areas. The positive reviews from repeat visitors and the clear dedication of the new owners to enhancing the park speak volumes about its potential and the welcoming atmosphere it offers.
In conclusion, Bud's RV Park & Marina in Lake Wales, Florida, is a hidden gem undergoing a positive transformation. Its key features include direct marina and launch access to the beautiful Tiger Lake (connecting to Lake Kissimmee), a peaceful natural environment teeming with wildlife, friendly and dedicated new owners who are actively making improvements, and the availability of full hookup RV sites and laundry facilities. Will let y'all know later about that.January 2023- After a months long stay, I can honestly recommend this quaint little park. The live oak trees hanging with Spanish Moss set the tone. Everywhere are Staghorn Ferns and other tropical plants growing in the trees. Tiger Lake is lovely. Our daily walks took us all over the small park when we always some new natural sight. Gray Herons, egrets, sandhill Cranes, baby alligators, gopher turtles, fox squirrels and owls. You can see Cape Canaveral launches off in the distance on a clear day or night. Aug 22, 2024 · Tanna Parks (Brookey Bee)If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. My father brought me here way back in the late 70's, early 80's. Sure cleaned a bunch of fish around this place. My Dad has been gone for some time now as has Mr. Bud as I called him. He'd let me ride in the old jeep he used to launch boats move campers around campground. It's still a beautiful place to be.
