Camp Renfro Introduce
Welcome to Camp Renfro, an RV park located at 227 Lovers Ln in Elizabethton, Tennessee. For local users searching under the category "RV Parks Near Me" for a place to park their recreational vehicles, whether for a short getaway or a more extended stay, Camp Renfro offers a unique setting with direct access to the river and a generally quiet atmosphere. Based on the available customer reviews, the park presents a mix of positive attributes, such as its scenic location and friendly owner, alongside areas that may need improvement, particularly concerning management and overall development as a full-fledged RV park.
One reviewer, who appears to be a first-time visitor, notes that Camp Renfro "needs work to be a real RV Park." This suggests that while the location may have its merits, the facilities and infrastructure might be in the process of development or may not yet meet the standards of a fully established RV park. However, the same reviewer also mentions that the park is "quiet for the most part as long as you keep to yourself," indicating a potentially peaceful environment for those who value privacy and tranquility during their stay.
A significant positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the owner, who is described as "a very nice person." A friendly and approachable owner can greatly enhance the overall experience at an RV park, fostering a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere. However, this positive feedback about the owner is contrasted with a concern regarding the management, which "could stand to be taught how to run things." This suggests potential inefficiencies or areas where the management practices might not be optimal, which could impact the guest experience in terms of organization, responsiveness, or service delivery.
An unusual and somewhat concerning point raised in one of the reviews is a warning to "watch out for the Barney Fife (Charlie) who thinks he's the cop..." This cryptic comment could imply the presence of an individual within the park who may be overstepping boundaries in terms of enforcing rules or interacting with guests, potentially creating an uncomfortable or unwelcome atmosphere for some visitors. It's important to note that this is based on a single, brief comment, but it is a point of feedback that potential guests might want to be aware of.
On a more overwhelmingly positive note, another reviewer describes Camp Renfro as "Bee U T Full !!" This enthusiastic exclamation underscores the potential for a visually appealing and enjoyable setting. The reviewer recounts a positive experience of securing a "temporary long term place" for their camper while moving from South Carolina to East Tennessee. This suggests that Camp Renfro may cater to both short-term and extended stays. The reviewer specifically mentions getting a spot "right on the river," highlighting a prime location with direct river access, which is a significant draw for many RV enthusiasts who enjoy waterfront views and activities.
Further positive feedback from the same reviewer includes "Good neighbors, Good location and GREAT view!" This paints a picture of a friendly community atmosphere among the RVers staying at the park, a desirable location that likely offers convenience and access to local attractions (though not specified), and stunning scenic views, presumably due to its riverside setting. The fact that the reviewer felt "really lucky" that Courtney answered their call when they were contacting numerous other RV/campgrounds suggests that Camp Renfro might be a sought-after or particularly accommodating option in the area.
Considering the environment of Camp Renfro, the direct mention of being "right on the river" indicates a significant natural amenity. Riverfront camping often provides beautiful views, opportunities for fishing, and a generally tranquil and picturesque setting. The "GREAT view" further supports this. While one reviewer noted that the park "needs work to be a real RV Park," the positive comments about the beauty of the location suggest that the natural environment is a strong asset. The quiet atmosphere, as long as one keeps to themselves, implies a level of peace and privacy that can be appealing to many RV travelers.
In terms of services, the reviews provide limited specific details. The mention of needing work to be a "real RV Park" could imply that the range of services and amenities might be more basic compared to more established parks. However, the fact that one reviewer was able to secure a long-term stay suggests that essential services such as hookups for water, electricity, and sewer are likely available, although the quality or reliability of these services is not detailed. The reference to management needing improvement suggests that aspects like check-in, maintenance requests, or general park operations might not be as smooth or efficient as in more professionally run establishments. The friendly owner could potentially offset some of these management concerns with their personal interaction and helpfulness.
The features of Camp Renfro appear to be primarily centered around its natural location, particularly its riverfront access and scenic views. The quiet atmosphere is another feature that could attract those seeking a peaceful getaway. While the park might be undergoing development or lack some of the amenities of a more established RV park, its core features of a beautiful riverside setting and a quiet environment seem to be significant draws for visitors. The ability to accommodate long-term stays is also a notable feature for those needing a temporary residence while relocating or working in the area.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the given text. However, the enthusiastic review highlighting the "Bee U T Full" location, "Good neighbors," "Good location," and "GREAT view" serves as a strong implicit promotion for the park's natural and community aspects. The fact that the reviewer felt lucky to have found Camp Renfro suggests that it might offer something special or unique compared to other options in the area. To learn about any specific promotions, such as discounts for longer stays or seasonal offers, interested individuals would need to contact Camp Renfro directly using the provided phone numbers.
For local users searching for "RV Parks Near Me," Camp Renfro presents an option with a potentially beautiful riverside setting and a quiet atmosphere. The friendly owner is another positive aspect. However, potential guests should be aware of the feedback suggesting that the park "needs work to be a real RV Park" and that management could be improved. The cryptic comment about an overzealous individual acting like "the cop" is also something to keep in mind. If a scenic and peaceful location with river access is a high priority, and one is willing to potentially overlook some shortcomings in facilities or management, Camp Renfro could be a worthwhile consideration. Contacting the park directly to inquire about the current state of facilities and management practices is advisable.
In conclusion, Camp Renfro in Elizabethton, TN, offers a potentially beautiful and quiet riverside RV park experience with a friendly owner. The "GREAT view" and good neighbors contribute to its appeal. However, feedback indicates that the park may still be under development or have management that needs improvement. The comment about an overbearing individual within the park is also a point of caution. For those prioritizing a scenic, riverfront location and a generally peaceful stay, Camp Renfro could be a good fit, but it would be wise to gather more current information about the park's facilities and management by contacting them directly.
