Catfish Camp Introduce
Located at 14200 Crows Landing Rd, Crows Landing, CA 95313, USA, Catfish Camp presents a complex and potentially concerning picture based on recent online reviews. For those searching for "RV parks near me" or mobile home parks in the Crows Landing area, it is crucial to consider the drastically different accounts provided by individuals who have visited the location.
One very recent review paints a stark and alarming image of Catfish Camp. The reviewer states that the location "is now abandoned." They describe encountering "a few rough looking guys" who appeared to be living in their cars in the parking lot. The overall condition of the place is described as "completely trashed and destroyed," with a "burned out RV in lot." This individual's experience led them to leave quickly, citing safety concerns and the derelict state of the property. They explicitly note that the pictures associated with their review are examples and not actual photos of the current condition they observed.
In stark contrast, another review, seemingly from a different time or reflecting a different aspect of the location, describes a positive family outing. This reviewer mentions taking their family out for the day to Catfish Camp, where they "fished, rode dirt bikes, and bbq!!" They noted that the weather and scenery were nice, suggesting that the location may have previously offered recreational opportunities and a pleasant natural environment.
The significant discrepancy between these two reviews raises serious questions about the current status and safety of Catfish Camp. The recent report of abandonment, trashed conditions, and the presence of individuals seemingly living in vehicles suggests a severe decline and potential safety hazards. This directly contradicts the earlier positive account of a family enjoying recreational activities like fishing and dirt biking.
Given the information, it is extremely difficult to objectively describe the current environment, services, and features of Catfish Camp. If the recent review accurately reflects the present state, then the park may no longer be operational or safe for habitation or recreational use. The mention of abandonment and the severely deteriorated condition implies a lack of management and maintenance.
Historically, based on the positive review, Catfish Camp may have offered:
- Access to fishing, potentially in a nearby body of water.
- Space for recreational activities like dirt bike riding.
- Areas for outdoor cooking, such as BBQ facilities.
- A natural setting with pleasant scenery.
However, if the park is indeed abandoned and trashed as the more recent review indicates, then none of these features would likely be currently accessible or in a usable condition. The presence of a burned-out RV further underscores the state of disrepair and potential safety risks.
The location on Crows Landing Road in Crows Landing, CA, is in a more rural area of Stanislaus County. Typically, such locations might offer a quieter, more outdoors-oriented experience. However, the reported abandonment suggests that any potential benefits of the location are currently overshadowed by the park's condition.
Considering the conflicting information, especially the serious allegations of abandonment and unsafe conditions, it would be highly inadvisable for anyone to visit or consider staying at Catfish Camp without first conducting a thorough and up-to-date investigation. This would involve contacting the listed phone number to ascertain the current operational status and, if possible, verifying the conditions on the ground through official channels or recent, reliable sources.
The recent negative review serves as a strong warning, indicating a potentially hazardous environment. The earlier positive review, while suggesting past recreational potential, does not reflect the current reported state of the property.
Therefore, any discussion of services or features would be speculative and based on a potentially outdated positive account. If the park is abandoned, essential services like water, electricity, and waste disposal would likely be non-existent. Security would also be a major concern.
Similarly, any talk of promotional information would be irrelevant if the park is not currently operating or is in the state of disrepair described in the recent review.
In conclusion, the information available online for Catfish Camp in Crows Landing, CA, presents a deeply concerning situation. While one review suggests past recreational use and a pleasant environment, a very recent review indicates that the property is now abandoned, trashed, and potentially unsafe, with evidence of people living in vehicles. Anyone considering this location for RV parking or mobile home living should be extremely cautious and seek verifiable, up-to-date information before visiting or making any decisions. The recent report of abandonment and severe disrepair overrides any potential positive aspects suggested by earlier accounts.

Catfish Camp Reviews
Is now abandoned. A few rough looking guys were hanging out in their cars. It looked like they had been living there in the parking lot. Place is completely trashed and destroyed. Burned out RV in lot. I drove in and out quickly! No time to take actual pics.(pictures are examples.)

May 07, 2022 · Dan ClaytonLove this spot just around dark on a quiet day but just be careful of your surroundings after sunset. Pick up after yourselves nobody should be cleaning up after y'all grown folks. Ya hear that one luv
Nov 23, 2021 · Sean robertsonI don't know. The guy on the phone had an accent that was kind of hard to understand. I had a lot of questions, but he was clearly not in a good mood. So his attitude raises red flags. How would I be treated if I DID rent a space there? I think I'll just keep looking and bypass this one.
