Council Road RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Oklahoma City area? Council Road RV Park, located at 8108 SW 8th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73128, USA, offers a potential option for RV travelers and those seeking longer-term RV sites. To provide local users with a detailed and objective introduction, especially those utilizing the "RV parks near me" platform category, it's essential to consider the available customer reviews to understand the environment, services, and features of this RV park.
The customer reviews for Council Road RV Park present a stark contrast in experiences, which is crucial for potential visitors and residents to consider. One former long-term resident, who lived at the park for almost three years, shares a deeply negative experience. This reviewer details a situation where, despite having paid a significant amount for three months due to medical issues requiring nightly payments at a higher rate ($1200/month compared to the regular lot rent of $650/month), they faced severe consequences for being five days late on payment. The actions taken by the park management allegedly included having their dogs taken to animal welfare (resulting in the death of one pet), their vehicle towed, and an attempt to have their camper towed (which was refused by the city). This reviewer strongly advises others to "go elsewhere" if they are looking for a place to feel at peace, even for a single night, based on their negative experience with the park's management and handling of their situation.
In contrast, another reviewer offers a more positive perspective, describing the folks running the park as "nice." This reviewer found the price to be reasonable, particularly highlighting the weekly rate as a good value, equating to the cost of five regular days rather than the six charged by most parks. They noted that the sites are basic but functional, with everything working, including Wi-Fi. Acknowledging the park's location across the street from a truck stop, this reviewer mentions that there is some associated noise but still plans to stay there again, suggesting that the positive aspects outweighed this environmental factor for them.
Considering these opposing viewpoints is essential for anyone searching for "RV parks near me" in Oklahoma City. The negative review paints a picture of potentially harsh and unforgiving management, especially concerning payment issues, and raises serious concerns about the well-being of residents and their property. The positive review, on the other hand, highlights reasonable pricing, functional amenities, and a positive interaction with the park staff, albeit with a noted environmental drawback (truck stop noise).
When evaluating Council Road RV Park as one of the "RV parks near me," potential users should consider their priorities. If a quiet and peaceful environment is paramount, the proximity to a truck stop, as mentioned in the positive review, might be a significant drawback. Additionally, the severe consequences described in the negative review regarding late payments could be a major concern for those who anticipate any potential financial challenges or prefer a more understanding management approach.
The positive review mentions basic but functional sites and working Wi-Fi, which are important amenities for many RVers. The reasonable weekly rate could be attractive for short-term travelers. However, long-term residents might be more concerned about the monthly rate and the management policies.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of Council Road RV Park, potential users should contact them directly at (405) 789-2103 or +1 405-789-2103. Inquiring about the following would be beneficial:
- The specific amenities offered, such as hookups (electricity amperage, water pressure, sewer connections), laundry facilities, restrooms, and showers.
- The layout and size of the RV sites.
- The park's policies on pets and late payments.
- The level of security provided at the park.
- The typical noise levels due to the proximity to the truck stop.
- Any additional services or features offered.
- Current rates for daily, weekly, and monthly stays, and any potential discounts or special offers.
The location at 8108 SW 8th St in Oklahoma City places Council Road RV Park within the city limits, likely offering convenient access to urban amenities, services, and attractions. However, the trade-off, as indicated by the truck stop proximity, might be a less tranquil environment. Potential residents and visitors should weigh the convenience of the location against the potential for noise and other impacts from the nearby commercial activity.
In conclusion, Council Road RV Park presents a complex picture for those searching for "RV parks near me" in Oklahoma City. While one reviewer found the price reasonable and the staff nice, another experienced severe and distressing consequences related to a late payment. The proximity to a truck stop is also an environmental factor to consider. Potential users are strongly advised to contact the park directly to inquire about their policies, amenities, and the typical environment. It would be prudent to seek clarification on their payment policies and to assess whether the potential benefits (like reasonable weekly rates and functional amenities) outweigh the potential drawbacks (like truck stop noise and the strict management approach described in one review). A personal visit to the park, if possible, could also provide valuable insights before making a decision.

Council Road RV Park Reviews
I paid $1200 a month for 3 months due to medical issues and having to pay nightly . Lot rent is $650 a month. The second I became late they had my dogs taken to animal welfare (my boy got sick while in there and he passed two nights ago). They had my vehicle towed. And asked to have my camper towed as well but the city refused. I was 5days late when they startedharassing me. I had paid well over his monthly lot rent and was very open with the office about my situation. I lived there for almost 3 years. If you're looking for a place to feel at peace even for a night, go elsewhere.
Oct 16, 2024 · Keri HutchisonNice folks running this park. Price is reasonable and especially the weekly rate, which is roughly the equivalent of 5 regular days rather than 6 (which most parks charge). Sites are basic, but everything works including wifi. The park is located across the street from a truck stop, so there is some of that type of noise to deal with. I plan to stay here again.

Sep 14, 2024 · Shari FarnsworthLove this RV Park! We were looking for something accessible to the city as we are big bike riders. This park is right on the bike trail to the city. Sites are really close to each other but not a big deal to us. They have a good weekly rate, laundry, WI-FI, cable and easy W/S/E hookups. And best of all SUPER NICE STAFF! Would absolutely return!
