Rockwell RV Park & Campground Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rockwell RV Park & Campground is located at 720 S Rockwell Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73128, USA. They can be reached at (405) 787-5992 or their mobile number, +1 405-787-5992, for inquiries. However, it is crucial for potential local users to be aware of recent feedback from customers before making a decision.
One reviewer noted that while the park "looks really nice on their website" and the hot tub was a positive amenity, the overall cleanliness of the facility was a significant concern. This guest reported that the rest of the park was "filthy," with "dog crap everywhere, including in the 'dog park'!" This raises serious questions about the park's maintenance and sanitation practices, particularly in areas designated for pets. For RVers traveling with animals, the condition of pet-friendly areas is a critical factor.
Adding to the concerns about site maintenance, the same reviewer mentioned finding "nails and glass at our site 209." Such hazards pose a risk to both people and pets and suggest a lack of thorough site preparation and upkeep between guests. Furthermore, they reported that the "50 amp plug was burned so we couldn't use it," indicating potential issues with the electrical infrastructure at some sites, which can be a significant inconvenience for RVs requiring higher power levels. The reviewer stated that these issues were reported to the office upon departure, and the response was that they are "working on it," leaving the resolution uncertain.
Another review strongly advises potential travelers to "DON'T STAY HERE," stating, "Don't say you weren't warned." This highly negative feedback suggests a significantly unsatisfactory experience. The reviewer claims that the park's website is "not accurate" and that prices are "higher" than advertised. This discrepancy between online representation and reality can be a major frustration for travelers. Additionally, they reported that "most amenities are broken or closed" and described the maintenance as "very poor." This paints a concerning picture of the park's current operational status and the quality of its facilities.
The second reviewer also noted that the park seems to have "mostly year-round residents in the campsites," suggesting that the primary focus might not be on short-term travelers. This could explain why some maintenance issues or amenity closures might not be a high priority for the park management if the majority of their clientele are long-term residents who may have adapted to or are less reliant on certain amenities. For travelers on I-40, which is likely a significant route for those passing through Oklahoma City, this reviewer recommends Rockwell RV Park as "the last option before a Walmart parking lot," a stark comparison indicating a very low opinion of the park's suitability for overnight or short-term stays.
Considering the environment, Rockwell RV Park is located on South Rockwell Avenue in Oklahoma City. This area is within the broader urban environment of the city, although the specific surroundings of the RV park are not detailed in the reviews. It could be situated near commercial areas or potentially offer some green spaces. However, the reviews do not provide any positive descriptions of the park's ambiance or natural setting. The focus is primarily on the condition of the facilities and the overall experience.
Regarding services, if the park were well-maintained and all amenities were functional, typical services for an "RV park near me" would include hookups for electricity, water, and sewer at each site. The burned 50 amp plug reported by one reviewer indicates that 50 amp service is at least intended to be available at some sites. Other common services in RV parks include restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, and potentially Wi-Fi access. The first reviewer mentioned a hot tub as a positive amenity, suggesting that recreational facilities might be part of the park's offerings, although the second reviewer indicated that "most amenities are broken or closed," casting doubt on the current availability and condition of these services.
In terms of features, the park's website might present a more appealing picture, as mentioned by one reviewer. Features could potentially include a dog park (though reported as filthy), a hot tub (reported as nice), and possibly other recreational areas or conveniences. The presence of year-round residents suggests that the park likely offers long-term site rentals. However, the discrepancy between the website's portrayal and the actual conditions reported in the reviews is a significant concern for prospective guests.
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Given the negative feedback regarding the park's current state, it is unlikely that any promotions would outweigh the reported issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and amenity functionality. Local users considering Rockwell RV Park should directly inquire about the current status of amenities, site conditions, and pricing to ascertain the accuracy of the online information and the recent negative reviews.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Rockwell RV Park & Campground in Oklahoma City present a concerning picture. While the website might depict a nice facility and a hot tub was appreciated by one guest, significant issues have been reported regarding the park's cleanliness (including the dog park), site safety (nails and glass), electrical infrastructure (burned plug), and the overall condition and functionality of amenities. The strong negative recommendation from one reviewer, suggesting it as a last resort before a Walmart parking lot, should be taken seriously. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Oklahoma City are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and seek up-to-date information directly from the park management regarding the resolution of these reported issues before considering a stay at Rockwell RV Park & Campground. It would also be prudent to look for more recent reviews on other platforms to get a broader understanding of the park's current condition and reputation.
Given the serious nature of the complaints, potential guests should prioritize parks with more consistently positive recent feedback to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable RV experience in the Oklahoma City area. The reported discrepancies between the website and the actual conditions underscore the importance of seeking current and unbiased information from multiple sources before making a reservation at Rockwell RV Park & Campground.

Rockwell RV Park & Campground Reviews
This place looks really nice on their website. The hottub was nice but the rest of the place was filthy! Dog crap everywhere, including in the "dog park"! We found nails and glass at our site 209 and the 50 amp plug was burned so we couldn't use it. I told the office when I left exactly all of this. She said they are working on it. So maybe. If it was cleaned up it wouldn't be a bad park.
Apr 02, 2025 · Kim OlearyDON'T STAY HERE. Don't say you weren't warned. The website is not accurate. Prices are higher. Most amenities are broken or closed. Very poor maintenance. Mostly year-round residents in the campsites so maybe these aren't big issues for them. For travelers on I-40, this should be the last option before a Walmart parking lot.
Jan 19, 2025 · Luke HemovichLived here for ~2 years. Best way I can sum it up is “campground experience for resort prices”. There are worse places to stay, but I wouldn’t recommend this park for long term stays. Not for the rates they’re charging. When I first moved in, it was nice-the grounds were nice and everyone was spread out. For the last year, the grounds have rarely been maintained and they’ve crammed almost everyone into one side of the park. During the summer, the lawn is always overgrown and overrun with stickers and bugs. This is my biggest complaint, I can’t even walk my dogs without stopping constantly to pick stickers or goat heads out of their feet. My legs were always chewed up and swollen from walking through their grass.Currently, they apparently have no one working to even empty the dog waste bins, which are overflowing onto the ground with poo bags. People have all but stopped picking up after their dogs.Your water WILL freeze in the winter, no matter how much winterizing you do, because they don’t want to fix their cracked spigots. But they WILL make sure you know that you’re financially responsible if their spigots burst, due to their own negligence. I avoided this by just shutting my water completely off during freezing. They also have almost no water pressure. They recently raised laundry to $2.50, however, when the machines work, they don’t work well. They’re raising rent to $800 (!) a month in January, and have yet to give anyone a written notice. My last biggest complaint is the people they employ. I’ve walked in to the women’s bathhouse one night, only to find one of their employees being grossly intimate with her huge nasty husband in the stall (should’ve pressed charges on this one). As recently as Monday, I had to “interrupt” the front desk staff who was making out with her husband/boyfriend, just so I could get my package. She then acted out out that I was interrupting her. I’ve also walked in on the owners (who didn’t know I was watching this) go through everyone’s mail, telling someone on the phone who is receiving what…ILLEGAL. Staff LOVE policing people on stupid crap, but can’t seem to uphold ethical decency themselves. If you’re considering this park for long term, PLEASE consider paying more money at a nicer park. As far as I’m concerned, the only thing you’re paying for is the connections, and spotty wifi. Skip this park entirely in freezing temps.
Dec 07, 2024 · Cait LohrenzWe pulled off the interstate to rest after a long day of weather. We get to our site and there are piles of dog poop and trash strewn everywhere. Some of the trash was even sharp items that could puncture tires. We get parked and I looked at my receipt and got charged $55. I look at the website again and it states that the price with GS is $48. So we overpaid for a dirty place to lay our head for the night. Website is very deceiving and needs updated. This park is run down and filthy.
Apr 04, 2025 · Lisa spegalTHIS PLACE IS A WASTE OF MONEY, NOTHING IS AS ADVERTISED ONLINE. Stayed here one night while passing though OKC. The park advertised work out equipment and pool area open until 9 pm on weekdays. Not only is the equipment old and pool minuscule, I was not even allowed to use the facilities. I went to use the gym equipment at 7:30 pm on a Wednesday and was promptly kicked out by a rude employee who did not even bother to stop her personal phone call when kicking me out. I have attached the posted signage that states the facilities were open when I went to use them. The staff here clearly does not care about providing the campers with the services advertised. You are better off staying in a Walmart parking lot for the night when passing through OKC than staying here.
