I bought a home here in 2021 for $49,900. I was so excited & happy to finally have a place to call my own. A few days after moving into the home I noticed black mold about the furnace, I called the office and was told to file a claim with my insurance, so I did and the claim was denied so nothing was doing at all. The furnace also didn’t work even though they told me it did and it was “just replaced”. So I also had to take money out of my own pocket to fix that because they sure wouldn’t. When I moved in lot rent was $582. Before I left in 2023 it was $718….. like I said originally I bought the home for $49,000, when I realized lot rent was getting outrageous I tried selling it for what I owed which was $38,000 and had no hits on it. So I asked the park how much they would buy it back for. The price I got from them was $12,000. I would’ve had to come up with $26,000 and pay them to by the trailer back. Long story short I literally had to file bankruptcy because I could no longer afford lot rent plus other bills with it going up so much every year. Water bill was ALWAYS way higher than it should’ve been for 2 people. There were months where I paid over $300 for a water bill when me and the other person that lived with me were gone 12+ hours everyday for work. There were multiple times where I had to call out of work because it flooded so bad that it was up to my front deck. And my car was on a slant/uphill but the tires were still at least 6 inches underwater, so the water in the street itself was at least 2 foot deep possibly more. Last but not least the front desk staff is HORRIBLE. The attitude that you get when you go in or call (if they even answer the phone) is absolutely ridiculous. Please just do yourself a favor and don’t make the same mistake I did and move in here. - Makel Purdy

Country Meadows Introduce

Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Flat Rock, Michigan area and considering a longer-term residential option? Country Meadows mobile home park, situated at 3211 Will Carleton Rd, Flat Rock, MI 48134, USA, presents a community living environment for those seeking a permanent or semi-permanent place to reside. You can reach them at (734) 782-7059 or +1 734-782-7059 for inquiries.

When exploring options for "RV parks near me" that might accommodate long-term stays, it's essential to consider the unique characteristics of a mobile home park. Unlike traditional RV parks catering primarily to short-term travelers, mobile home parks like Country Meadows offer a more established residential setting with long-term leases and a sense of community.

Based on available information, Country Meadows offers spaces for manufactured homes. The environment of the park can be described as a residential community. One recent piece of positive feedback indicates the arrival of new playground equipment, suggesting an effort to enhance amenities for residents, particularly those with children.

However, it's crucial to consider all available information when making a decision about long-term residency. A detailed review from a former resident who purchased a home in 2021 for $49,900 and left in 2023 raises several significant concerns. This review mentions issues such as the discovery of black mold shortly after moving in, a non-functioning furnace despite assurances of recent replacement, and difficulties in getting these issues addressed by the park management. The reviewer also highlights substantial increases in lot rent, rising from $582 to $718 within a two-year period, which ultimately led to financial strain. Attempts to sell the home proved unsuccessful, and the buyback offer from the park was significantly lower than the amount owed.

Furthermore, the review details problems with consistently high water bills, even during periods of low occupancy, and instances of severe flooding that impacted the resident's home and vehicle. Finally, the reviewer expresses strong dissatisfaction with the front desk staff, citing a negative attitude and difficulty in contacting them.

It is important to acknowledge that this is a single, albeit detailed, account and may not represent the experience of all residents. However, these are serious concerns that prospective residents should carefully consider and investigate further. Visiting the park, speaking with current residents (if possible), and thoroughly reviewing the lease agreement are highly recommended steps in the due diligence process.

While the arrival of new playground equipment suggests ongoing investment in the community's infrastructure, the issues raised in the detailed review regarding maintenance, cost increases, environmental concerns (flooding), and customer service are significant factors to weigh. When comparing mobile home parks to "RV parks near me" for a longer-term stay, the financial structure, including lot rent, utilities, and potential for increases, becomes a critical point of comparison. Unlike the often more inclusive pricing structures of short-term RV parks, mobile home parks typically involve separate lot rent and utility charges, which can fluctuate.

Prospective residents should inquire about the current lot rent, the frequency and potential amount of rent increases, how water bills are calculated and allocated, and the procedures for addressing maintenance requests and other concerns. Understanding the park's policies on reselling homes and any associated fees is also crucial.

In conclusion, Country Meadows in Flat Rock, MI, offers a residential community setting that may appeal to those seeking a more permanent living arrangement than traditional "RV parks near me." The recent addition of playground equipment indicates potential positive developments within the park. However, a detailed customer review highlights significant concerns regarding maintenance, escalating costs, environmental issues, and customer service. It is imperative for potential residents to conduct thorough research, including visiting the property, speaking with current residents, and carefully reviewing all terms and conditions before making a decision. Understanding the full scope of costs and the park's management practices is essential for a positive and stable living experience.

For those actively searching for "RV parks near me" with the intention of long-term residency, expanding your search to include mobile home parks like Country Meadows can broaden your options. However, the due diligence process for a mobile home park requires careful attention to aspects such as lot rent stability, utility costs, maintenance responsiveness, and community management, as highlighted by the varied experiences shared in online feedback.

Remember to contact Country Meadows directly at (734) 782-7059 or +1 734-782-7059 for the most up-to-date information and to schedule a visit. Inquire specifically about the concerns raised in online reviews and seek clarification on their current policies and procedures. A well-informed decision will contribute significantly to your satisfaction and peace of mind in your new living environment.
