Deerwood Estates Mobile Home Community Introduce
If you are looking for “RV Parks Near Me” in the Springfield, Illinois area, Deerwood Estates Mobile Home Community, located at 3401 Ridge Ave, Springfield, IL 62702, is a mobile home park that might offer options for RV accommodations, either for short-term or long-term stays. However, it is crucial to approach this community with significant caution due to overwhelmingly negative feedback from individuals claiming to be current or former residents.
Deerwood Estates Mobile Home Community can be contacted via phone at (319) 321-1550 or mobile phone at +1 319-321-1550. These contact numbers can be used to inquire about the availability of RV spaces, rental rates, and any specific policies or amenities offered to RV travelers. However, given the serious nature of the reviews, it is strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution and to seek substantial clarification and assurances before considering a stay here.
The environment and overall upkeep of Deerwood Estates Mobile Home Community are described in extremely negative terms in the available customer reviews. One reviewer, claiming to have lived there for some time, states that "the owner couldn't care less about the state of the places he rents out" and that "most of the trailers are falling apart and show signs that maintenance has been neglected for quite some time." This paints a picture of a potentially dilapidated and poorly maintained community. Another reviewer echoes these concerns, mentioning issues such as loose ductwork leading to exorbitant electricity bills, a malfunctioning furnace, floors falling through, uneven leveling of trailers, and an electrical system prone to blowing breakers. These descriptions suggest a potentially unsafe and uncomfortable living environment.
The management of Deerwood Estates Mobile Home Community also comes under severe criticism in the reviews. One reviewer notes that the owner has a history of firing managers, and that a previous manager was the only reason any repairs were occasionally made, albeit poorly due to the owner's alleged cost-cutting measures. This reviewer claims to have had to contact public health to get issues addressed and alleges an attempted bribe to retract a negative review. Another reviewer describes the owner as a "scam artist" who was "constantly harassing us begging for money." These accounts raise serious concerns about the integrity and professionalism of the management.
For those searching for "RV Parks Near Me," the expected services and features typically include essential utility hookups such as electricity, water, and sewage. However, given the reported infrastructure issues at Deerwood Estates, the reliability and safety of these basic services must be questioned. The reviews detail problems with the electrical system being overloaded and ductwork causing significant energy inefficiencies. There is no information provided about the availability or condition of water and sewage hookups for RVs. Therefore, it is absolutely critical to inquire specifically about the condition and reliability of all essential utilities for RVs before considering a stay.
Beyond basic hookups, typical RV parks may offer amenities like laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, Wi-Fi access, and recreational areas. There is no mention of any such amenities in the provided reviews for Deerwood Estates. Given the focus on significant maintenance and management issues, it is highly unlikely that additional features for RV travelers are a priority. Any expectations of standard RV park amenities should be tempered, and direct inquiries should be made to ascertain what, if anything, is available.
Promotional information is entirely absent in the provided customer reviews. The overwhelmingly negative nature of the feedback suggests that the community may not be actively promoting itself, or if it is, the reality experienced by some residents appears to contradict any potential marketing claims. Therefore, any promotional information found elsewhere should be viewed with extreme skepticism and thoroughly verified through direct contact and ideally, a personal visit and interaction with current residents (if they are willing to speak candidly).
As a local user searching for "RV Parks Near Me" in Springfield, the location of Deerwood Estates at 3401 Ridge Ave places it within the city. However, the severely negative descriptions of the living conditions and management practices should far outweigh the convenience of location. Springfield offers other potential RV parks and campgrounds, and it would be prudent to prioritize those with more positive or at least less alarming feedback.
The recurring themes in the reviews are neglect, disrepair, and problematic management. One reviewer explicitly advises, "If you can help it, do not come here. Worst mistake I ever made." Another states they are leaving as soon as their lease ends because "the place is trashed" and recounts a personal experience of being robbed and allegedly harassed by the owner for money. These are not mere complaints; they are serious allegations that should give any prospective resident or visitor significant pause.
Given the gravity of the issues raised in the reviews, any potential for "cheap rent" mentioned by one reviewer as the only redeeming factor should be carefully weighed against the potential costs of living in a poorly maintained and potentially unsafe environment, dealing with allegedly unprofessional management, and the risk of property damage or even theft. The sentiment expressed is that the low rent is the only reason for a single star rating, with the reviewer wishing they could give a zero. This strongly suggests that the drawbacks far outweigh any perceived financial benefits.
In conclusion, while Deerwood Estates Mobile Home Community at 3401 Ridge Ave in Springfield, IL, is located within the area for those searching for "RV Parks Near Me," the available customer feedback paints an extremely concerning picture of neglect, disrepair, and problematic management. Potential RV visitors or long-term residents should proceed with extreme caution. It is strongly recommended to thoroughly investigate other options in the Springfield area and to seek detailed information and assurances from the management of Deerwood Estates regarding the serious issues raised in the reviews before considering a stay. A personal visit and attempts to speak with current residents are highly advised, and even then, the risks appear to be substantial based on the information available.

Deerwood Estates Mobile Home Community Reviews
Having lived here a while I can say that the owner couldn't care less about the state of the places he rents out. Most of the trailers are falling apart and show signs that maintenance has been neglected for quite some time.Update Jan 2024: Going to kick it back down to a single star now since he fired the manager again. That manager was the only reason anything was kind of getting fixed occasionally even though CM (the owner) cheaped out on any fixes so they were always poorly done and often half finished. Literally had to call public health at one point to get anything done. He tried to bribe us to retract it but I didn't because the place ran our electricity bill to over $1000 trying to heat it because all the duct work was loose and hanging under the trailer. He never even offered to pay it even though it was his neglect that caused it.The current place has the same problem to a lesser degree which he opted not to fix when we had to get a new furnace because the old one never stopped running but at least the new one keeps the bedroom and bathroom warm though not the kitchen or living room. Literally have the floor falling through in several spots and a gap between the wall and the floor near the front door. Plus the whole trailer needs leveled and the electrical system blows breakers constantly because all the outlets are on 2 circuits and can't handle running a vacuum while anything else is on. He did finally decide maybe he should check on smoke detectors and furnace filters this year since he neglected to for the last few years and wants to check our (non-existent and never provided) fire extinguisher but we just do it ourselves.I do hear that he is absolutely spitting mad about my review though, so here's to another year in this junk heap since we can't afford to move with rent being so high everywhere else. Honestly the kinda cheap rent is the only thing that would earn the single star, otherwise I'd love to mark it a big 0 if Google would let me.
Jan 12, 2024 · Sara Ann MaxsonLease ends in 5 days and we are leaving. The place is trashed. My house was robbed, and the owner c.m is a scam artist. Constantly harassing us begging for money. If you can help it, do not come here. Worst mistake I ever made.
Nov 15, 2023 · Ben LittleThey have a new manager and he has really cleaned up the place and is still cleaning it up even more. He has also gotten rid of most of the trashy people, druggies, and problem people out of the park. Awesome manager!!
Jul 13, 2019 · Marilyn BorreroIt's just not big enough for today's campers.
May 22, 2024 · Vernale RhoneNeeds to be cleaned up the place and put better people in there. People that's going to keep the place picked up. I mean all the trash that's around the place.
