Desert Sands RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Henderson, Nevada, area, perhaps as a stopover while exploring the vibrant city of Las Vegas or as a comfortable base for a longer stay? Look no further than Desert Sands RV Park, located at 1940 N Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV 89011, USA. You can reach them at (702) 565-1945 or +1 702-565-1945 to inquire about availability and rates.
Desert Sands RV Park caters to a variety of travelers, from full-time RVers needing a place with full hookups to those seeking a convenient spot for a few nights while visiting the region. While it may not be advertised as a scenic or top-of-the-line resort, its practical advantages and positive customer feedback make it a noteworthy option in the "RV parks near me" category.
Based on firsthand accounts from fellow RV enthusiasts, Desert Sands RV Park prides itself on its cleanliness. Guests consistently mention the well-maintained grounds and, notably, the "super clean and spacious bathrooms with showers," which even include a sauna – a surprising and welcome amenity often not found in standard RV parks. This focus on hygiene contributes significantly to a comfortable and pleasant stay.
The park also offers a range of services designed to enhance your RV living experience. Full hookups are available at each site, ensuring you have access to essential utilities. For those on longer trips or needing to freshen up, the on-site laundry facility is a significant convenience. Furthermore, the presence of Wi-Fi and good cell service is consistently highlighted as excellent, allowing you to stay connected with ease, whether for work or leisure.
One of the standout features of Desert Sands RV Park, as mentioned by multiple reviewers, is the friendly and helpful staff. The office workers are described as gracious, particularly when it comes to receiving packages – a boon for travelers who rely on online deliveries. This welcoming atmosphere contributes to a positive overall experience.
For those looking to relax and unwind, Desert Sands RV Park offers a pleasant pool area complete with a hot tub. While some guests may not have had the opportunity to use these facilities, their presence adds to the appeal, especially during the warmer Nevada months. It provides a refreshing escape and a chance to socialize with other travelers.
In terms of location, Desert Sands RV Park offers a significant advantage. It is described as being "nearby Las Vegas," providing easy access to the world-famous entertainment, dining, and shopping that the city has to offer. At the same time, its Henderson address offers a slightly quieter environment away from the constant bustle of the Strip. Reviewers also note its proximity to essential amenities, suggesting that you'll find everything you need within a short distance.
It's important to provide a balanced perspective, and some reviewers have offered constructive feedback. One recurring point is the prevalence of cigarette smoke throughout the park, originating from staff, residents, and guests. If you are particularly sensitive to smoke, this is something to be aware of and potentially prepare for with an air purifier in your RV. Another observation is that the park is not necessarily "scenic" and does have a mix of full-time residents and some older RVs, which is common in many long-stay RV parks. However, guests generally agree that the park is clean and quiet, with good-sized spaces.
One reviewer mentioned overhearing neighbors discussing potentially illicit activities, though they also noted that no one bothered them and they felt generally safe while taking standard precautions. This highlights the importance of always being mindful of your surroundings and securing your belongings, regardless of where you are staying.
Overall, the consensus among reviewers is that Desert Sands RV Park offers a solid value proposition. It's an "affordable cost" option that doesn't compromise on essential amenities and service. While it might not be a luxury resort, it provides a clean, comfortable, and convenient base for exploring the Las Vegas area or for those needing a reliable RV park with full hookups for a shorter or potentially longer duration.
If you are searching within the "RV parks near me" category and prioritize cleanliness, friendly service, essential amenities like full hookups and laundry, and a convenient location near Henderson and Las Vegas, Desert Sands RV Park is definitely worth considering. Give them a call at (702) 565-1945 or +1 702-565-1945 to discuss your needs and book your stay. They appear to be a popular choice for those seeking a practical and comfortable RV park in the area.

Desert Sands RV Park Reviews
We are full-time RVers that usually boondock but needed a place nearby Las Vegas to stay with hookups for two weeks. RV parks aren’t usually our cup of tea but we really enjoyed our stay here. It’s clean, the staff is friendly, and the amenities are impressive especially considering the great nightly price. We especially enjoyed the super clean and spacious bathrooms with showers (it even had a sauna) and the pleasant pool area with a hot tub. On-site laundry was a bonus, as were very friendly office workers who graciously received our many Amazon packages that we had for pickup. Our only criticism is the ever-present cigarette smoke about everywhere you go here—staff, residents, and short-term guests are all constantly puffing chimneys and it will permeate into your RV, so an air purifier was helpful. Nevertheless, this was a small issue and we enjoyed our stay. We will stay here again and again. Thank you Desert Sands for offering a great place at an affordable cost! 🚐
Nov 13, 2024 · Peter BarrIs this a scenic park? No. Is this a top-of-the-line park? No. Is it free of full-timer hoarders and some run-down RVs? No. Is it clean and quiet with good size spaces, full hookups, and excellent Wifi and cell service? YES! They also have a pool but we never used it. For reference, we currently live on the road full-time in our 40' fifth wheel with large Chevy truck. We were staying at a different RV resort on Lake Mead but needed somewhere to stay for a couple weeks between when we left Lake Mead for a different area. This fit the bill for what we needed. Super nice people working the front office, close to everything you could want or need, and all guests/residents keep to themselves. We did overhear neighbors talking about engaging in some less-than-legal activities but nobody was bothering anybody else. We always kept everything locked up but in general we felt very safe. I definitely wouldn't want to live there for longer than a week or two but if we were back in the area and needed somewhere to stay, we'd be back at Desert Sands no problem.
Apr 16, 2022 · Tori BradyBeware if you need 50 amps! I don't want to badmouth this place - we only stayed one night, but it was kind of disastrous. I picked Desert Sands because it was away from the highways, not realizing that put us on the airport's landing path, but that wouldn't be a deal breaker. We arrived, got situated, everything was fine, then, early evening, our power went off. It came back on, no problem. Then it went off again, twice more, and then it wouldn't come back on. We checked outside for anything obvious - nothing. On our check-in paperwork, I found a "Camp Host Phone (After Hours) 702-387-8977". I called - it's not a working number! We eventually found a camp host to help us. He was very friendly and wished to help, but knew nothing about electrical issues, and assumed the problem was with our rig. He called somebody else. That person showed up and plugged in a tester. It showed no power on our side. Eventually he said, "You can't plug two 50 amp rigs into that tower." The tower was shared between two sites and the other rig - already plugged in when we arrived, was also a 50 amp. When we asked why they put us in that spot, he said, "They don't listen to me. You could probably put a 50 amp and a 30 amp fine, but not two 50 amps."We made it through the night - thanks to our generator - and got out of there as soon as we could the following morning. Our electrical worked perfectly at our next stop.Needless to say,we will not return to Desert Sands.
Oct 19, 2024 · Jude GilfordThey seem to be trying to modernize an older park, but it was disappointing; small sites, not close to much of anything, normal city noise. Prices are equivalent to other older LV RV parks, but I think you will find better value elsewhere.
Dec 09, 2020 · John RushingThe negative reviews of this place seem to be old before new management took over. I called to book a same-day reservation, and the person was extremely friendly. They have a 24-hour guard that was at the gate when we arrived for late check-in. He escorted us to our site to make sure we didn’t get lost since it was already dark. They have a pool and clubhouse. We didn’t get to use them because of our late arrival and early departure, but they looked like a lot of fun. We saw people enjoying the clubhouse patio and misting fans on our walk after we arrived. This was a great full hookup RV park with a lot of amenities in a good location between the airport, Hoover Dam and Vegas strip. Would definitely stay again
