Elk Run LLC Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in the Elk City, Oklahoma area, Elk Run LLC, located at 102 Allee Dr, Elk City, OK 73644, USA, presents a mixed picture based on recent online reviews. While it boasts a convenient location with easy access to major highways and clean facilities, significant concerns have been raised regarding hookup functionality, management communication, and the overall condition of the park.
One positive review highlights the owner, Deneen, as "the definition of accommodating and hospitable." This reviewer also praises the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers, the availability of "plenty of washers and dryers," and the park's excellent location with immediate access to Historic Route 66, I-40, and State Highway 34. This positive feedback suggests that for some guests, particularly those looking for a convenient stopover or a longer-term stay with clean amenities, Elk Run LLC could be a suitable option.
However, a more recent and detailed negative review paints a starkly different picture, raising serious concerns about the park's management and operational procedures. This guest recounts a troubling experience involving non-functional hookups, a failure to receive payment instructions, and a highly unusual interaction with law enforcement. According to this review, upon arrival, none of the second-row hookups worked, necessitating a move to a different site. Despite filling out a receipt for payment, the guest did not receive the promised payment link that night. The following morning, the maintenance person who they had spoken with the previous evening was seen near their camper on the phone. Shortly thereafter, three police officers and three police cars arrived at their setup, creating a startling and distressing situation.
The reason for the police presence, as explained to the bewildered guests, was that the park management had attempted to call them for payment but had allegedly mixed up two digits in their phone number. The person who received the misdialed call reportedly responded negatively, leading the park to involve the police. The reviewer expresses disbelief and frustration that the park did not attempt to resolve the payment issue by simply speaking to them directly, especially since they had interacted with the maintenance person the night before and had even requested to stay a bit longer to finish work, offering to pay extra upon receiving the payment link. The fact that the maintenance person, who had interacted with them in person, seemingly did not recognize it wasn't their voice on the phone and didn't attempt to communicate directly is described as "mind blowing."
This incident raises significant concerns about the park's communication protocols and its approach to resolving payment issues. The decision to involve law enforcement over a minor billing discrepancy, without first attempting direct communication with the guests, appears heavy-handed and created a highly negative and potentially unsafe experience, especially for guests traveling with pets, as their dogs were frightened and barking during the police interaction. The fact that the payment link was sent just five minutes after the police left further underscores the unnecessary escalation of the situation.
Adding to these concerns, the same negative review also comments on the overall condition of the park, describing "most of the campers in the site" as "run down and decrepit," labeling it a "ratchet park." This suggests that the general upkeep and aesthetic of the park may be lacking, which could be a significant drawback for travelers seeking a pleasant and well-maintained environment.
Considering these contrasting reviews, potential guests searching for "RV parks near me" in Elk City need to weigh the reported positives (convenient location, clean bathrooms and showers, ample laundry) against the significant negatives (potential hookup issues, severely flawed management communication leading to police involvement, and a generally run-down appearance of the park). The positive review, while appreciative of the owner and facilities, does not address the serious management and park condition issues raised in the negative review.
Elk City, Oklahoma, is located along Interstate 40 and historic Route 66 in western Oklahoma. Its location makes it a potentially convenient stop for travelers along these major routes. The presence of immediate access to these highways, as mentioned in the positive review, is undoubtedly a significant advantage for those looking for an easy in-and-out option. However, the negative review highlights that even for a one-night stay, significant issues can arise.
Given the severity of the issues raised in the negative review, including the involvement of law enforcement over a billing misunderstanding, potential guests should exercise extreme caution when considering Elk Run LLC. It would be prudent to contact the park directly at (580) 303-7836 or +1 580-303-7836 to inquire about the current status of the hookups, their payment procedures, and to seek clarification on how they handle billing discrepancies and guest communication. It might also be beneficial to look for more recent reviews from other travelers to get a broader sense of the current conditions and management practices at the park.
While the clean bathrooms and showers and the availability of laundry facilities are certainly appealing, the potential for significant management issues and the reported run-down state of the park could outweigh these benefits for many travelers. The convenience of the location near major highways might be attractive for a quick overnight stop, as mentioned in the positive review, but the negative experience highlights that even short stays can be problematic. For those seeking a longer-term stay, the reported condition of the other campers in the park could also be a factor to consider regarding the overall community and environment.
In conclusion, Elk Run LLC in Elk City, OK, presents a cautionary tale for those searching for "RV parks near me." While it offers a convenient location and some clean facilities, serious concerns about management communication, billing procedures, and the overall condition of the park have been raised by recent guests. Potential visitors should proceed with extreme caution, conduct thorough due diligence, and seek more information before making a reservation. The discrepancy between the positive and negative reviews suggests that experiences may vary, but the severity of the issues reported in the negative review warrants significant consideration.

Elk Run LLC Reviews
Owner (Deneen) is the definition of accommodating and hospitable. Bathrooms and showers are super clean. Plenty of washers and dryers available. Great location with immediate access to Historic Rt. 66, I-40, and state highway 34. I highly recommend this park to anyone who is looking for an easy in-and-out or a long-term stay.
Mar 28, 2025 · Ronnie RaineyAvoid at all costs.. we stayed there for a night, my partner called prior and were told she’d receive a link to pay. Get there and none of the second row hookups worked, all good, we moved, but did not receive a link to pay at all the night we stayed, we filled out a receipt and went to bed. The next morning we see the maintenance guy who we spoke to the night before around our camper on the phone. A few minutes later we hear a man yelling to us outside our camper. I walk out to 3 cops and 3 cop cars around our setup. Quite startled I spoke with them, came to find out instead of just sending the link to us to pay they decided to call me, but mixed up a 4 and 9 in my number and reached someone else, who told them to F off, which who wouldn’t? If you got a call from a random number asking for payment for a camp site you’d probably do the same. So they called the cops for that.1. This was scummy because the guy who called the cops we got along with the night before just fine, and did he not recognize it wasn’t my voice, or the fact that he could have come to talk to us. We literally asked if we could stay a bit longer to finish work that day and would be happy to pay extra when we get the link to pay. You couldn’t come talk to us to get this addressed but called us outside our camper? If the person on the other line was yelling at you and you thought it was us don’t you think you’d hear us since you were literally 10 feet from our camper? Mind blowing2. We have dogs, had I not reacted calmly who knows what could have happened, my dogs were frightened and barking, this all could have been avoided if the owner had done what they said they would do and send us the link to pay. 5 minutes after talking to the cops I received the link to pay. What a joke…most of the campers in the site are run down and decrepit. Ratchet park
