Springville / Provo KOA Holiday

1550 N 1750 W, Springville, UT 84663, USA

3.0
We stayed at the Springville KOA for an extended period (120 days), and will not be back. The property was poorly maintained throughout our stay. Grass in most areas was extremely overgrown, making it difficult to walk through even around our site. The dog park—a key amenity advertised on the website—was locked for the entire duration of our stay, only being opened during the final week of our stay.Several water spigots around the campground were leaking or spewing water for weeks without repair. The laundry facilities and bathrooms were consistently unclean, full of hair and machines were never working properly. Sites were not maintained at all—leaves, branches, and debris were left untouched for months. Sites are very small and extremely close together. Zero privacy between campers. You can fit a medium sized camper and one vehicle if you’re lucky. The pool was still filled from last season, it had not been cleaned or even drained and was filled with filthy, black water and debris— a huge eyesore entering the park. I chose to rate 2 stars instead of 1 because the clubhouse is a nice amenity to hangout and gather. This was the only amenity advertised appropriately. We’ve stayed at many parks across the states and this was, by far, the most poorly maintained. Despite its potential, the lack of upkeep and responsiveness to basic maintenance made for a very disappointing experience. Management should be held to a much higher standard for this being a KOA. We absolutely do not recommend staying here until significant improvements are made. - marlee fedinec

Springville / Provo KOA Holiday Introduce

For local residents of Springville, Provo, and the surrounding areas searching for "camping near me," the Springville / Provo KOA Holiday, located at 1550 N 1750 W, Springville, UT 84663, presents itself as a recognizable option under the KOA brand. However, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of the park's current condition and management, which potential visitors should carefully consider before making a reservation. While the KOA brand often implies a certain standard of amenities and maintenance, feedback suggests that this particular location may be falling significantly short of those expectations.

One of the most prominent issues raised by multiple reviewers is the poor maintenance of the property. Extended-stay visitors reported that "the property was poorly maintained throughout our stay," with specific mentions of "extremely overgrown" grass in most areas, making it difficult to navigate even around individual campsites. This lack of basic landscaping suggests a broader neglect of the grounds, potentially impacting the overall aesthetic and usability of the park.

A key amenity advertised by the Springville / Provo KOA Holiday, the dog park, also appears to have been a significant disappointment for pet owners. One reviewer who stayed for an extended period (120 days) noted that the dog park—a crucial feature for many RV travelers—was "locked for the entire duration of our stay," only being opened in the final week. This prolonged unavailability of a promised amenity raises serious questions about the park's responsiveness to the needs of its guests.

Further maintenance issues were highlighted with the park's water infrastructure. Several water spigots around the campground were reportedly "leaking or spewing water for weeks without repair." This not only indicates a lack of attention to necessary repairs but also suggests potential water wastage and inconvenience for campers needing to access water. The condition of the communal facilities also drew considerable criticism. Reviewers described the laundry facilities and bathrooms as "consistently unclean, full of hair," and noted that the laundry machines were "never working properly." Such conditions can significantly detract from the comfort and hygiene of a stay, especially for longer durations.

The individual campsites themselves also came under scrutiny. One reviewer stated that "Sites were not maintained at all—leaves, branches, and debris were left untouched for months." This lack of upkeep contributes to a generally unkempt appearance and can make setting up and enjoying a campsite less pleasant. Moreover, the sites are described as "very small and extremely close together," offering "Zero privacy between campers." This close proximity can impact the overall camping experience, reducing the sense of personal space and tranquility that many seek in a campground.

The condition of the pool area was another major point of concern. One reviewer described the pool as being "still filled from last season" with "filthy, black water and debris," stating that it had not been cleaned or even drained. This not only renders the pool unusable but also creates a significant "eyesore" upon entering the park, contributing to a negative first impression.

Despite the numerous negative comments regarding maintenance and amenities, one reviewer did offer a slight positive note, stating that "the clubhouse is a nice amenity to hangout and gather." They conceded that this was "the only amenity advertised appropriately." While a nice clubhouse can be a valuable feature, it appears to be overshadowed by the significant shortcomings in other areas of the park's upkeep and advertised services.

The overall sentiment from the reviews is one of deep disappointment, particularly given that this is a KOA Holiday location, which typically implies a certain standard of quality and service. One long-term visitor concluded that this was "by far, the most poorly maintained" park they had stayed at across the states. They strongly advised against staying there "until significant improvements are made," holding management to a "much higher standard." Another reviewer echoed this sentiment, stating, "It doesn't feel safe. It doesn't feel nice. It seems like it is run to pack as many RVs in one place as possible, take their money offer as little as possible in return."

Specific issues were also raised regarding advertised amenities that were not consistently available. The Wi-Fi was reported to "never worked the entire stay" for one visitor, and the dog park was "closed and locked the majority of our stay" for another. Additionally, one reviewer recounted a frustrating experience with reservations, where a representative recommended a specific area of the park, only for the management to later state that long-term stays were not permitted in that section upon arrival. This suggests potential issues with communication and consistency within the management.

Finally, concerns about safety were briefly mentioned, with one reviewer stating, "It doesn't feel safe," although no specific details were provided to elaborate on this concern. The mention of "flooding issues because of their water pipes" further adds to the impression of a poorly managed and maintained infrastructure within the park.

Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the maintenance, cleanliness, and reliability of advertised amenities at the Springville / Provo KOA Holiday, local users searching for "camping near me" should approach this option with significant caution. While its location in Springville might be convenient for some, the reported lack of upkeep and potential for a disappointing experience appear to be substantial drawbacks. There is no promotional information available in the reviews to offset these concerns.

Prospective visitors are strongly advised to seek more recent reviews from multiple sources before considering a stay at this campground. It would also be prudent to contact the management directly to inquire about the current status of the mentioned issues, such as the dog park, Wi-Fi, cleanliness of facilities, and maintenance of the grounds. Asking specific questions about the upkeep of campsites and the functionality of amenities will be essential in making an informed decision.

In conclusion, based on the available recent customer reviews, the Springville / Provo KOA Holiday appears to be a campground with significant maintenance and management issues that are negatively impacting the guest experience. While its location might be appealing to those seeking "camping near me" in the Springville/Provo area, the reported overgrown grounds, locked amenities, unclean facilities, and lack of site maintenance are serious concerns. Local users should proceed with extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before booking a stay here, ensuring that the current conditions align with their expectations for a KOA Holiday campground.
