Fisherman's Roost Storage & RV Park Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Clinton, Missouri area, Fisherman's Roost Storage & RV Park, located at 5761 SE Hwy U, Clinton, MO 64735, USA, presents itself as a potentially scenic option with a lakefront setting. You can contact them at (660) 243-9832 or +1 660-243-9832 for inquiries. While the park boasts a "gorgeous atmosphere" with surrounding woods and a small pond accessible via a path, recent customer reviews provide a mixed perspective that potential guests should carefully consider.
Fisherman's Roost Storage & RV Park, as the name suggests, offers both RV parking and storage facilities. Its location "right next to the lake" is highlighted as a significant positive, suggesting potential access to water-related activities and scenic views. One reviewer also described the atmosphere as "quiet, peaceful and right next to the lake," reinforcing the appeal of its natural setting.
Another reviewer elaborated on the "gorgeous atmosphere," noting the wooded surroundings and a "small pond through a path in the woods" as particularly attractive features. This suggests that the park has the potential to offer a tranquil and aesthetically pleasing environment for those who appreciate nature.
However, the positive aspects of the environment are contrasted sharply with significant negative feedback regarding the park's management, facilities, and community atmosphere, particularly for families with children. One extensive review details experiences of alleged harassment directed at their children due to normal outdoor play. The reviewer claims that instead of mediating or addressing complaints constructively, the manager consistently relayed these complaints, creating a stressful environment that ultimately led to their departure. This individual suggests that the park might be better suited for "older people, with no kids" if the management prioritizes a very quiet atmosphere.
Beyond management issues, the same reviewer raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and maintenance of the park facilities. The laundry room is described as having frequently broken down washers and dryers, with refunds reportedly being refused for lost money. The bathroom facilities were allegedly "never once clean" during an eight-month stay, with complaints including dog hair, wet dog smells, unclean toilets and sinks (one reportedly not working properly and often disgusting), and a generally gross shower. These are significant concerns for the comfort and hygiene of potential guests.
The review also mentions issues with the laundry machines being filled with dog hair despite posted rules against washing dog items. This allegedly led to the transfer of dog hair onto guests' laundry. Furthermore, leash rules were reportedly not enforced for one neighbor's dogs, which allegedly roamed onto the reviewer's site, defecating in children's play areas and eating food. While the reviewer states they didn't complain about this initially, a complaint about dog hair in the washers was allegedly met with unhelpful responses from management, suggesting a lack of concern for guest comfort and adherence to park rules.
The reviewer concludes by stating they "would've loved to love this place" due to its potential but advises others to "beware" due to the current management, allegedly bullying neighbors, and unkept facilities, recommending looking into other parks instead. A particularly concerning point is the claim that the owner manages multiple parks in the area with the same individual, suggesting potential for similar issues at other locations.
Another significant concern raised in the review is the feeling of being "unwelcome" with children, describing the experience as "harassment and bullying until we were out." This paints a negative picture for families considering a stay at Fisherman's Roost Storage & RV Park.
Finally, the reviewer also expressed concerns about the safety of their children due to the presence of "a couple 'iffy' people" at the park, adding another layer of caution for potential guests, especially those with families.
Based on this detailed and largely negative feedback, potential local users searching for "RV parks near me" should be aware of the following potential issues at Fisherman's Roost Storage & RV Park:
- Allegations of harassment and bullying towards families with children by management and/or other residents.
- Concerns about the cleanliness and maintenance of park facilities, including restrooms and laundry.
- Frequent breakdowns of laundry equipment with alleged refusal of refunds.
- Potential issues with the enforcement of park rules, such as leash laws and the washing of pet items in laundry facilities.
- Reported feelings of being unwelcome, particularly for families.
- Concerns raised about the presence of individuals who made some guests feel unsafe for their children.
While the park's location on the lake and its wooded atmosphere are undeniably attractive, the significant negative feedback regarding management and facilities cannot be ignored. Potential guests should weigh these factors carefully against the desire for a scenic location.
As there is no positive feedback or promotional information available in the provided data, it is impossible to offer a balanced perspective based solely on this information. The strong negative sentiments expressed in the detailed review serve as a significant warning.
For local users considering Fisherman's Roost Storage & RV Park, the following steps are strongly recommended:
- Contact the park management at (660) 243-9832 or +1 660-243-9832 to inquire about their policies, especially regarding families with children and the maintenance of facilities.
- If possible, visit the park in person to assess the cleanliness of the facilities and the overall atmosphere.
- Seek out additional reviews from other sources online to get a broader range of perspectives.
- Inquire about security measures in place at the park.
Given the serious nature of the allegations in the provided review, potential guests, especially families, should exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence before deciding to stay at Fisherman's Roost Storage & RV Park. The beautiful setting may not outweigh significant issues with management, facilities, and community atmosphere for many travelers.

Fisherman's Roost Storage & RV Park Reviews
Quiet, peaceful and right next to the lake.
Apr 24, 2025 · Mandy NormanI want to start by saying this rv park is in a gorgeous atmosphere. Wooded all around it, small pond through a path in the woods. Very prettyThat’s about all the positive I haveAfter being approved to be there with multiple children, we started getting harassed almost daily because of themNot only for noise they outside, but normal play. Instead of trying to minimize the stress or drama caused by these complaints, the manager continuously sent these complaints to us making our time there extremely stressful. If they want this to be a quiet, more elderly friendly park, that’s what they should have it set for, instead of bullying those with kids until they leaveBesides these issues, the park facilities were always disgusting. The washer and dryer frequently broke down, but we would be refused refunds for our lost quarters. The bathrooms were never once clean the entire time I was there (about 8 months), including dog hair and wet dog smell on the rugs and floors, toilet not being kept clean, sink not working properly and often disgusting, and shower almost always grossThe washer (even tho signs specifically said no dog items), were constantly filled with dog hair, and transferring onto our items. They supposedly have leash rules, but those were never followed by one particular neighbor whose dogs were always at our area pooping in the area my children played at, and eating the food we had at our site. We didn’t complain about that, but the one time I did mention the dog hair inside washers, I was told to clean it out before doing my own laundry, or go to town for laundromat if I didn’t want to do that (even tho again, signs r up saying no dog items)I would’ve loved to love this place, as it has great potentialBut with the manager they currently have, the neighbors who r bullies, and the unkept facilities, u would be better off looking into another parkBeware, this particular owner owns multiple parks in the area and they’re all managed by the same personI have never felt more unwelcome in a place with my children than I felt hereIt was harassment and bullying until we were outIf you’re an older person, with no kids and don’t use their facilities, u may have no issuesAlso beware, there were a couple “iffy” people there who made us nervous for the safety of our children
