Homegrounds RV Park Introduce
Homegrounds RV Park, located at 1312 Akron Dr, Nekoosa, WI 54457, USA, is a top-tier RV park that caters to a wide range of campers, from those seeking a peaceful getaway to enthusiasts of trap shooting. Positioned as a premier option within the "RV Parks Near Me" category in central Wisconsin, Homegrounds RV Park, also known as the WTA Campground due to its ownership by the Wisconsin Trapshooters Association, offers comprehensive services and features designed to enhance the RV camping experience.
Environment: A Unique Blend of Recreation and Tranquility
Homegrounds RV Park is situated in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, within a well-established recreation area. This unique location offers a blend of natural beauty and specific recreational opportunities. The park boasts 104 spacious 45'x80' pull-through deluxe sites, which are generally level and easy to navigate, even for large rigs like 44-foot toy haulers. While many sites are surrounded by trees, offering some shade, others may have fewer trees, allowing for sun exposure. The roads within the park are paved, with sites themselves featuring a mix of gravel, grass, and weeds. One of the defining environmental aspects of Homegrounds RV Park is its direct adjacency to the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association's World-Class Shooting Facility, Learning and Training Center. This means that guests should be prepared for the sound of rifle fire during the day, especially when shooting events are taking place. However, reviews consistently note that the evenings are "very peaceful and quiet," making it possible to enjoy the tranquility after a day of activities. For those who enjoy or don't mind the sounds of a shooting range, this unique feature adds to the atmosphere. The park's overall visual appeal and environmental quality are rated highly by some, and the grounds are noted to be clean.
Services and Offerings: Comprehensive RV Convenience
Homegrounds RV Park is committed to providing a convenient and comfortable stay for RV campers. All 104 sites are full hookup, offering 50 & 30 amp electric, water, and sewer connections. This ensures that RVs of all sizes can be fully accommodated. Each site also comes with a fire ring, perfect for evening campfires, and a picnic table for outdoor dining. A crucial service highlighted by guests is the availability of clean, private bathrooms and showers, which are reportedly cleaned daily, especially during events. This attention to cleanliness is a significant positive point for campers. For added convenience, there is an on-site laundry facility and an RV sewer dump site within the park. The park is pet-friendly, accepting animals with some restrictions (it's advisable to call for specific pet policies). There is also an ATV wash station available for camping guests, which is a significant plus for those who enjoy the extensive ATV trails in the area. Firewood is also available for sale on-site, simplifying the campfire experience. While WiFi access is often a desirable service, the specific availability and cost at Homegrounds RV Park are not explicitly detailed in all public information, so it's advisable to confirm directly with the park.
Features: Beyond the Basics for RV Enthusiasts
Homegrounds RV Park stands out with several key features that enhance the camping experience. The spacious 45'x80' pull-through sites are a major highlight, accommodating even the largest toy haulers and providing ample space between lots for privacy and maneuverability. This "big rig friendly" design is highly valued by RVers. The park's direct connection to the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association facility is a unique feature, making it an ideal destination for trapshooters participating in events or those interested in the sport. The facility boasts 30 trap fields and hosts the Wisconsin State Shoot each July. Beyond shooting, the park is situated within a well-established recreation area, offering access to a variety of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. This includes direct access to ATV and snowmobile trails, making it a perfect base for exploring the region's extensive trail networks. Nearby attractions further enhance the features, with Lake Arrowhead and Sand Valley Golf Course offering golfing opportunities, and Petenwell Lake providing options for water sports and fishing. The availability of clean restrooms and showers, private and well-maintained, is consistently praised by visitors, ensuring a comfortable stay. The park also emphasizes its mission to provide a "beautiful, clean, safe and well-kept vacation place to camp and relax."

Homegrounds RV Park Reviews
We stayed at the WTA campground for 5 nights with a 44 foot toy hauler. Our site was a level, easy pull through, with full hook ups 50 & 30 amp electric available. Fire ring provided. Private bathrooms and showers available. It should be noted that there are trap shooters that use the facility so if you do not like the sound of rifle fire then this campground is not for you. It was very peaceful and quiet in the evenings. We will definitely stay again when in the area. The only negative was the water has iron ore and our shower definitely had to be scrubbed several times to remove the hard water stain.
Aug 08, 2023 · Kimberly cloughLove camping here for trap meets. Grounds are clean. Bathrooms/showers clean and cleaned daily during events. Accept animals which is another plus.
Jul 11, 2024 · Sue StenzelBasic campground with full hookups. Mix of level and very unlevel sites. Nothing nearby. Rates ok, cheaper than other campgrounds in the area. Sites are spacious. In August when we were there it was less than 10% occupancy. Very quiet. Fire pits, picnic table.
Aug 08, 2023 · Barry JensenNeeded a place to park a large rig on the weekend. Plenty of room here and very quiet. All long pull through sites. Everything is clean and new, gravel roads and sites but not much traffic. This rv park is on the Wisconsin Trapshooting Range .Update 8/18 $40 for the night, still very quiet place. About 1/2 the lots are level the others have a slight slope that may bother larger mh. The restroom showers are clean and large.
