Jim's RV Park Introduce
When searching for 'RV parks near me' in East Texas, Jim's RV Park, located at 15195 TX-43, Tatum, TX 75691, USA, presents itself as a noteworthy option. You can reach them at (903) 252-7660 or +1 903-252-7660. While it might not be a large, amenity-filled resort-style park, Jim's RV Park offers a functional and hospitable environment, particularly appreciated by those seeking a convenient overnight stop or a longer-term stay with a personal touch.
Based on recent customer feedback, Jim's RV Park has seen positive changes under new ownership and management. Previous visitors described it as "Soso," but recent reviews highlight a significant improvement in the level of service and attentiveness. The new management is commended for going "out of their way to help you and see too you have a nice day," whether your stay is brief or extended. This personal touch and dedication to guest satisfaction appear to be a defining characteristic of the park under its current operation.
The environment of Jim's RV Park, as indicated by a customer, is described as "a little small a little run down and mostly permanent residents." This suggests a more intimate setting, possibly with a higher proportion of long-term residents compared to transient travelers. While this might mean fewer resort-style amenities or a less bustling atmosphere, it can also foster a quieter, more stable community feel. For those seeking a no-frills, practical stop, this environment may be perfectly suitable.
In terms of services, Jim's RV Park likely provides the essential hookups and facilities necessary for a comfortable RV stay. These typically include:
- Full Hookups: RV sites usually offer connections for water, electricity (likely 30 and possibly 50 amp service), and sewer. This allows RVers to utilize all the onboard systems of their vehicles.
- Pull-Through Sites: One reviewer specifically mentioned that the park offered a "suitable pull through" site, which is a significant advantage for larger RVs and those who prefer not to back in. This feature simplifies the arrival and departure process.
- Waste Disposal: Proper waste management facilities are a standard offering at any RV park to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.
While specific amenities like laundry facilities, restrooms, showers, or recreational areas are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, they are common features in many RV parks. Given the description of the park as "a little small," the range of these extra amenities might be limited compared to larger RV resorts. However, the positive comments about the management suggest that they prioritize the functionality and upkeep of the existing facilities.
The features of Jim's RV Park, based on the available information, seem to emphasize practicality and convenience:
- Convenient Location: Situated on TX-43 in Tatum, the park offers accessibility for those traveling through the area. Its suitability as an "overnight" stop indicates its strategic location for travelers on longer journeys in East Texas.
- Accommodating Management: The recurring praise for the new ownership and management highlights this as a key feature. Their willingness to assist guests and ensure a pleasant stay adds significant value to the overall experience.
- Suitable for Larger Rigs: The mention of accommodating a "Phaeton with parking for my toad" indicates that the park can handle larger Class A motorhomes and towed vehicles, which is an important consideration for many RV travelers.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the positive feedback regarding the new management's dedication could be considered an indirect form of promotion. Their commitment to providing excellent service and a welcoming environment is a strong selling point for Jim's RV Park.
For those specifically searching for "RV parks near me" that offer a straightforward and hospitable experience in the Tatum, TX area, Jim's RV Park appears to be a viable option. While it might not boast extensive amenities, its strengths lie in its convenient location, functional pull-through sites, and, most notably, the positive and helpful attitude of the new ownership and management.
It's important to note the reviewer's comment that "If you are looking for a KOA Journey this is not your spot." KOA Journey parks typically offer a consistent set of amenities and standards. This suggests that Jim's RV Park might have a more independent and less standardized character. Travelers who prioritize a personal touch and a functional overnight stop over brand-specific amenities might find Jim's RV Park appealing.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of all the services and features offered at Jim's RV Park, it is advisable to contact them directly at (903) 252-7660 or +1 903-252-7660. Speaking with the management will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding site availability, specific amenities, and any current rates or policies.
In conclusion, Jim's RV Park in Tatum, TX, offers a convenient and welcoming environment for RV travelers. While described as "a little small" with a significant number of permanent residents, the park stands out due to the positive and helpful new ownership and management. Its pull-through sites and suitability for larger rigs make it a practical choice for overnight stays, and the attentive service suggests a pleasant experience for both short-term and potentially longer-term visitors exploring 'RV parks near me' in East Texas.

Apr 28, 2023 · C&J Vintage & StuffIf you are looking for a KOA Journey this is not your spot. Place is a little small a little run down and mostly permanent residents. However the managers are nice people who will do their best to make your stay pleasant. In then end it was a suitable pull through for my Phaeton with parking for my toad. If I need to overnight my rig in East Texas again I will be back.
Oct 08, 2023 · Mitch BoydIf i was passing thru and needed a spot to stay for a couple of days, then yes, but not for a long period of time. The space we got put in was really small and by the sewer overflow drain. Got promised a better spot but it was rented out before we were able to get our camper moved. Heard constant hollering and screaming. Dogs running loose. Outside breaker constantly tripping. LOTS of flies and gnats. Even with a new water filter, the water was still slimey. Always smelled a sour wet dog smell outside my camper. ***in response, only 1 electrician come to ask if I had electricity, wasn't aware of an exterminator( the manager asked us to help with spray cause she reached her limit) and was offered 1 spot after the managers 3 dogs rushed me at my truck and 1 attempted to bite me. That evening is when we decided to move to another RV Park. I believe in leaving honest reviews to help people and not to bash the business.

Apr 19, 2025 · Dion DrewI stayed for a couple of weeks as the new owner was taking over. He is a very nice guy and working on making the campground better. He is going pretty fast. I think he will have everything he wants to have there in no time.
