Lathrom's Landing RV Park South - former Crystal Lake RV Park Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" and considering the Mims, Florida area, Lathrom's Landing RV Park South, formerly known as Crystal Lake RV Park, located at 4240 Deering Pkwy, Mims, FL 32754, USA, is one option you might encounter. To provide you with an objective introduction to this RV park, we have compiled information based on recent customer reviews available online. It's important to note that reviews can offer valuable insights into the experiences of others, but individual experiences may vary.
One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their year-long stay at Lathrom's Landing RV Park South. Their feedback raises several concerns that potential visitors should be aware of. These concerns include allegations of unfriendly people and unpleasant environmental factors. Specifically, the reviewer mentioned that the water smelled like sewage, a serious issue affecting basic comfort and potentially health. They also reported that the bathhouse frequently lacked paper towels, indicating a potential issue with the maintenance of essential facilities. Furthermore, they described an overwhelming gnat problem originating from the sewer hookup for campers, which could significantly impact the outdoor experience.
In addition to these environmental and amenity-related complaints, the same reviewer claimed to have been overcharged for electricity for three to four months, highlighting a potential issue with billing accuracy. They stated that they had to personally calculate the correct charges, suggesting a lack of transparency or errors in the billing process. The only positive aspect mentioned by this reviewer was the presence of a nice pool, which could be an appealing amenity for those considering a stay.
Another point of concern raised by this reviewer was the issue of mail being put into the wrong slots. This can be a significant inconvenience for residents, potentially leading to delays or loss of important correspondence. This suggests a lack of organization in mail handling within the park.
In contrast to the strongly negative review, another customer shared a more positive experience. They described the park as "nice" with a "clean pool." While they noted some initial disorganization upon arrival, they credited the owner with making things right and being "very nice and helpful" in assisting with parking. This reviewer also highlighted the availability of two paddle boats for free use on a pond within the park, suggesting a recreational amenity that could enhance the stay for some visitors.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it appears that Lathrom's Landing RV Park South might offer a mixed experience. The presence of a clean pool and paddle boats are potential positives. The helpfulness of the owner in resolving initial issues is also a good sign. However, the serious allegations made by another reviewer regarding the water quality, pest issues, bathhouse maintenance, billing inaccuracies, and mail handling cannot be ignored.
When searching for "RV parks near me," it is essential to weigh both the positive and negative feedback to form a balanced perspective. The negative review raises significant red flags concerning basic utilities, environmental comfort, and administrative processes. These are crucial aspects of any living or temporary stay, and issues in these areas can severely impact the overall experience.
The positive review, while highlighting some appealing aspects, also mentions initial disorganization, which could be a point of concern for some travelers who prefer a seamless check-in process. The free use of paddle boats is a nice perk, but it might not outweigh fundamental issues like water quality and pest control for many RVers.
Given the limited number of reviews available in the provided information, it is challenging to draw a definitive conclusion about the overall quality and experience at Lathrom's Landing RV Park South. The stark contrast between the two reviews suggests that experiences may vary significantly, or that there might be inconsistencies in the park's upkeep and management.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Mims, FL, Lathrom's Landing RV Park South presents a location with a pool and potentially helpful ownership. However, the serious concerns raised about water quality, pests, bathhouse maintenance, billing, and mail handling should prompt potential visitors to seek more information and potentially look for more recent reviews or consider alternative options. It would be advisable to contact the park directly using the provided phone numbers, (386) 210-4370 or +1 386-210-4370, to inquire about the issues raised in the negative review and to get a sense of the current conditions and management practices.
It is also recommended to explore other "RV parks near me" in the Mims area to compare amenities, services, and reviews. Platforms dedicated to RV parks and camping often provide a wider range of feedback from various travelers, which can offer a more comprehensive understanding of what to expect at different locations. Considering factors such as the length of your intended stay, your tolerance for potential inconveniences, and the importance of specific amenities will help you make an informed decision when choosing an RV park.
In conclusion, while Lathrom's Landing RV Park South (formerly Crystal Lake RV Park) in Mims, FL, has received both positive and negative feedback, the serious concerns raised in one of the reviews regarding environmental issues and management practices warrant careful consideration. Potential visitors should conduct further research and direct inquiries to the park management to assess whether this RV park meets their standards and expectations for a comfortable and hassle-free stay when searching for "RV parks near me."

Lathrom's Landing RV Park South - former Crystal Lake RV Park Reviews
Not the nicest people. Water smells like poop, bath house never has paper towels. Oh and gnats that come from the sewer where you hook your camper to, to dump is overwhelming. I don’t recommend. I was there a year and it was not the best. Oh and I was over charged 3-4 months for electricity. I literally had to do the math myself. Only nice thing was the pool. Mail gets put into wrong slots.
Apr 08, 2025 · Kimberly Keesler (Wifey)Park was nice, clean pool, a little unorganized upon arrival but the owner made it right, she was very nice and helpful helping us back in. There were two paddle boats to use to paddle around the pond free of charge.
Feb 10, 2025 · Elizabeth EbertI lived here for almost two years. It’s very affordable. It’s close to I95. So that makes it easy to go just about anywhere. Space view park is only around nineteen minutes away. The closest beach is around twenty two minutes away. The nearest grocery story is a bit far, but the lot rent is very affordable. Everyone is so nice and they keep the park clean and maintained.

Jul 28, 2024 · Jai JaiWe were traveling through Florida and stayed at Crystal Lake for an overnight stay. We woke up next morning not being able to get our slide out in. We were not able to get a Rv technician out to see us for 4 days (4th of July weekend)! I spoke to Wendy!! She is just wonderful!! I can not say enough about her. Not only did she make room for us, but gave a discount and food while we were there. Her hospitality was amazing!!
