Mosquito Lagoon RV Park Introduce
Nestled on the serene banks of the Mosquito Lagoon in Oak Hill, Florida, Mosquito Lagoon RV Park stands out as a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts, anglers, and families seeking a memorable coastal escape. Located at 403 E Halifax Ave, Oak Hill, FL 32759, USA, this RV park offers a unique blend of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and comfortable accommodations, making it a highly sought-after option within the "RV parks near me" category.
Mosquito Lagoon RV Park is more than just a place to park your RV; it’s a full-service fish camp and vacation spot that caters to a diverse range of needs. It provides both RV sites and charming cabin rentals, ensuring that whether you travel with your own rig or prefer a cozy cabin, your stay will be comfortable. The park's emphasis on its proximity to the Mosquito Lagoon is a significant draw, as the lagoon is world-renowned for its exceptional fishing and unique ecological features, including the stunning phenomenon of bioluminescence.
The environment at Mosquito Lagoon RV Park is deeply intertwined with its natural surroundings. Many of its 28 large, level RV sites, including three pull-through sites, are located directly on the water, offering spectacular sunrise views and immediate access to fishing. Customers consistently rave about the scenic beauty. One review highlights, "The cabin was next to the water and the view was awesome." Another mentions, "We swim, kayak, fish, watch the manatees and dolphins, osprey and pelicans," illustrating the rich wildlife and tranquil ambiance that defines the park's setting. While visitors acknowledge the presence of "mosquitoes and no-seeums" — a common reality in Florida's natural environments, easily managed with bug spray — the overwhelming sentiment is one of enjoyment and connection with nature. The park’s location on an ancient Timucuan Indian mound or midden adds a historical dimension to its natural charm, with the "Seminole Rest" historic site within walking distance offering a glimpse into the area's past. The park is also strategically positioned for viewing rocket launches from nearby Cape Canaveral, adding another unique environmental feature to the guest experience.
The services offered at Mosquito Lagoon RV Park are designed to enhance the comfort and convenience of all guests. All RV sites provide full hookups, including 30 and 50 AMP electric service, water, and sewer facilities. Most sites also come with picnic tables. For those without an RV, the park offers cabin rentals that, while described as "older and show the effects of the saltwater environment," are consistently noted as "always clean and comfortable." Practical amenities include clean, modern washrooms and shower houses, laundry facilities, and an ice machine. Staying connected is easy with wireless internet hotspots available throughout the park. A standout service that truly defines the park's offerings is the complimentary use of kayaks for guests, complete with life vests and paddles, allowing easy exploration of the lagoon. The park also boasts its own boat ramp and slips, making it incredibly convenient for guests who bring their own watercraft to access the world-class fishing grounds. The staff, including Shannon, Alan, and Aron, are frequently praised for their exceptional helpfulness and accommodating nature, making guests "feel like family," as one review attests. The quick return of a left-behind work computer exemplifies their dedication to guest satisfaction.
Mosquito Lagoon RV Park's features are heavily centered around its prime location and the recreational opportunities it unlocks. The "Fishing Fun!" is paramount, with the Mosquito Lagoon being celebrated as a "fisherman's paradise" and "Redfish Capital of the World." Guests can fish directly from the shore, from docks, or utilize the boat ramp for direct access to the lagoon. The park is well-connected to fishing guides who can enhance the angling experience. Beyond fishing, the park facilitates a myriad of water-based activities. Guests can enjoy kayaking, swimming, and wildlife viewing, with frequent sightings of manatees, dolphins, osprey, and pelicans. The annual tradition of families and friends staying in the cabins to "fish and enjoy the bioluminescence" highlights another unique feature. During specific months, typically June through October, the Mosquito Lagoon becomes home to glowing dinoflagellates, offering a mystical nighttime paddling experience. The park is also pet-friendly, extending its welcoming atmosphere to furry family members. Other on-site features include a Tiki Hut & Bar, a fire pit available upon request, and areas for social get-togethers, fostering a friendly community atmosphere. The proximity to Canaveral National Seashore and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge provides additional opportunities for hiking, bird watching, and exploring diverse ecosystems.

Mosquito Lagoon RV Park Reviews
My boys and I had awesome time at MLRV. The cabin was next to the water and the view was awesome. Shannon, Alan and Aron (camp staff) made sure we were comfortable from the moment of arrival until the last day. Excited from an awesome 3 days and being a bit distracted I left my work computer in the cabin. Shannon very promptly called to notify me and made sure it was returned. Awesome place, people and we will return. We even caught fish!
Sep 04, 2024 · Enrique AmadorMy family and friends stay in the cabins once a year to fish and enjoy the bioluminescence. We thoroughly enjoy our time here each year. The cabins are older and show the effects of the saltwater environment, but they are always clean and comfortable. But we spend the majority of our time out on the water. It’s perfect here. We swim, kayak, fish, watch the manatees and dolphins, osprey and pelicans. We do not enjoy the mosquitoes and no-seeums but that’s just what we have to deal with. We bring lots of bug spray. The ladies who’ve taken care of us here have always been so helpful and accommodating. They make us feel like family.
Jul 14, 2024 · Keri spradleyMy wife and I were camping with our dog over at the island's when our boat left us stranded in the Mosquito Lagoon at 2AM. I called and Shannon answered the phone. I'm so grateful she was able to provide a slip for our 21' boat to be towed to and Cabin with a beautiful view to stay the night. Thank you so much for the Excellent Service Shannon! We will definitely be coming back on a future vacation.
Aug 15, 2024 · Christian PortalatinI have been staying at the Mosquito Lagoon rv park for almost a year now and I feel like I live in paradise. The view is breathtaking. Management is awesome. Aron, the maintenance man is super accommodating and helpful as well as Shannon, the manager. Everyone at the park is super welcoming and kind. I don’t have any desire to go anywhere else.
Jun 07, 2024 · Sofia LBest deal in the area. $50 daily rate. We had a water front site, 50 amp power, sewer, water, stayed 3 nights. No problems, friendly owner. Would definitely come back if in the area.
