Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments Introduce
For local users in the Payson area, specifically Star Valley, Arizona, searching for "RV parks near me," Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments, located at 3655 AZ-260, Star Valley, AZ 85541, USA, presents itself as a potential option for both short-term and extended stays. This facility appears to offer RV sites alongside apartments, creating a mixed residential and transient community. To provide a detailed and objective introduction, we will analyze the available customer reviews to understand the environment, services, and features of this property.
One reviewer describes Lazy D Ranch RV Park as a "Quiet, laid-back RV park nestled in a draw between a couple of small hills." This suggests a relatively peaceful and scenic environment, with the surrounding hills potentially offering some natural shelter from the wind. The reviewer also notes that the "Weather is pretty moderate most of the time," which could be appealing for those seeking a comfortable climate for an extended stay in the Payson area. Overall, this review suggests that Lazy D Ranch RV Park could be a "nice place to stay if you're looking to be in the Payson area for an extended stay," highlighting its suitability for longer-term visitors seeking a tranquil setting.
However, a second, significantly more detailed review presents a starkly contrasting and deeply concerning perspective on the management and living conditions at Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments. This reviewer uses the term "SLUMLORDS!" to describe the management and recounts a distressing situation involving their 88-year-old grandmother, who was allegedly left without power for 48 hours on multiple occasions. This resulted in the grandmother suffering a heat stroke and requiring ambulance assistance, with her trailer reaching temperatures over 90 degrees. The reviewer further claims that a refrigerator full of food spoiled due to the power outages.
Adding to the severity of the situation, the reviewer alleges that the management showed "zero compassion" and attempted to intimidate the grandmother, suggesting she would be charged for repairs due to over-amp draw if she continued to blame the park's electrical system. This was despite the power going out at 1 am while she was sleeping with no appliances running. The reviewer states that the complex never conducted a load test on the trailer, which had been occupied by a tenant for 15 years prior to the grandmother's less than five-year residency. The reviewer suggests that the management made assumptions without proper investigation.
The review includes descriptions of an "over 20 years old outdated power supply" that was not weather-sealed and contained insects, spiderwebs, leaves, dirt, and melted contact points, along with a melted meter. The reviewer claims that other spaces in the park had brand new power supplies. They challenge the management to provide direct proof that their grandmother was the cause of the electrical issues, given the age and condition of the equipment and the previous long-term tenant who reportedly did not experience these problems.
The reviewer, who has 10-15 years of experience in commercial and residential electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, spent over 16 hours diagnosing the electrical issues after the management allegedly refused to have an electrician investigate, initially claiming the problem solely resided with the trailer. According to the reviewer, it was only after they discovered the external power supply issues that the management contacted an electrician. The reviewer also notes that the grandmother's trailer worked fine when plugged into a different power supply and that her panel had been upgraded with a 30-amp main supply, new breakers, and outlets since she moved in.
The reviewer concludes by stating that their grandmother has never been late on rent and that the complex allegedly chose to ignore the real issue and instead intimidate an elderly resident who was afraid to report further problems due to fear of retaliation from management. This detailed and highly critical review raises serious concerns about the safety and management practices at Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments, particularly regarding the electrical infrastructure and the treatment of residents.
Considering these two vastly different accounts, local users searching for "RV parks near me" should approach Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments with extreme caution. While one reviewer highlights a quiet and laid-back environment suitable for extended stays, the other details a concerning situation involving negligence, potential endangerment of a resident, and alleged intimidation by management.
The reviews provide limited information about the specific services and features offered to RV guests. The mention of an "RV park" suggests that RV sites with some level of hookups (water, electricity, and possibly sewer) are available. However, the quality and reliability of these services, particularly the electrical supply, are called into question by the negative review. There is no information provided about amenities such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, or recreational areas.
To obtain a clearer and more current understanding of Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments, local users should contact them directly at (928) 474-2442 or +1 928-474-2442. When calling, it would be essential to ask detailed questions about:
- RV Site Availability and Hookups: What types of hookups are available at the RV sites (e.g., 30/50 amp electric, water, sewer)? What is the condition and reliability of the electrical system?
- Pricing for RVs: What are the daily, weekly, or monthly rates for RV sites? Are there any additional fees?
- Amenities for RV Guests: Are restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, or recreational areas available? What is the condition of these amenities?
- Management and Maintenance: Inquire about the current management practices and their responsiveness to maintenance issues, particularly regarding essential utilities like electricity.
- Long-Term RV Options: Are long-term RV stays permitted, and what are the terms and conditions? What are the policies regarding utility outages and compensation?
- Safety and Security: What measures are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and guests, especially regarding critical infrastructure like the electrical system?
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. The contrasting experiences highlight the importance of thorough research and direct communication before considering a stay at Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments. The potential for a quiet and laid-back environment might be appealing, but the serious allegations of mismanagement and unsafe living conditions cannot be ignored.
In conclusion, Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments in Star Valley, AZ, presents a mixed picture for local users searching for "RV parks near me." While one review suggests a peaceful extended stay option, another details severe issues with management negligence and unsafe infrastructure. Potential visitors must exercise extreme caution and conduct a thorough investigation into the current conditions and management practices before making a decision. The significant concerns raised in one of the reviews warrant careful consideration and direct questioning of the management regarding the reliability of utilities and their responsiveness to resident needs.

Lazy D Ranch RV & Apartments Reviews
Quiet, laid-back RV park nestled in a draw between a couple of small hills. The hills act as a wind brake, which is nice. Weather is pretty moderate most of the time. Overall, it is a nice place to stay if you're looking to be in the payson area for an extended stay.
Apr 23, 2025 · Shawn LowmanSLUMLORDS! They allowed my 88 year old grandmother to go 48 hours without power on more than one occasion. She ended up having a heat stroke and needing ambulance assistance. Her trailer got to 90 plus degrees. Had an entire fridge of food go bad and only to have management show zero compassion and strong arm/ put fear into her if she continued to blame the parks electrical that she would be charged for repairs do to over amp draw. Despite the power going out at 1am while she was sleeping with nothing turned on. The complex never once doing a load test on her trailer, that mind you had a tenant living there for 15 years prior to my grandmother's less than 5. They are jumping to conclusions and assumptions without actually investigating.See pictures attached of over 20 years old outdated power supply not weather sealed with insects, spiderwebs, leaves and dirt and melted contact points along with a melted meter ( all other spaces have brand new power supplies) unless you have direct proof that my 88 year grandmother is the direct cause of your outdated equipment vs the tenant who lived their for 15 years and none weather sealed installation, I hope to see it. Considering her panel has been upgraded and has a 30 amp main supply within the trailer since moving in along with new breakers and outlets. I myself have spent over 16 hours diagnosing these issues do to them refusing to have an electrician investigate and claiming the issue solely lies with the trailer. Only after I discovered the issue did they contact an electrician. Despite the trailer working fine plugged into a different power supply. I drove over 8 hours there and back. I have 10-15 years of Commercial and residential electrical, plumbing and HVAC experience. I am EPA universal certified and have managed specialized nursing facilities, valley wide apartment complexes and multi million dollar Family Entertainment Centers. My grandmother has never once been late on rent and the complex would rather ignore the real issue and scare an elderly woman into thinking she will be evicted if she continues to complain. My grandmother is terrified to report issues out of management retaliation now.

Jun 05, 2024 · Carolyn HerbisonThe application itself is ridiculously tough, I gave up after 3 days.! After showing them bank statements, letters from Soc Sec (except this years), even went as far as getting a letter stating that I was on SS . Receiving benefits, they said that I needed better proof ??? WTH ?
Jun 03, 2023 · Dennis LarsenTry to help a veteran find a spot in this RV park they don't accept any RV below the year 2012. Which I think is discrimination.
