Jakes Corner Bar Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" that offer more than just a place to park your RV? Consider Jakes Corner Bar, situated at 57564 AZ-188, Payson, AZ 85541, USA. This isn't your typical RV park; it's a unique establishment that combines RV accommodations with a bar and food service, offering a distinctive experience for travelers. You can reach them at (928) 951-2067 or +1 928-951-2067 to learn more about their offerings and availability.
Based on customer reviews, Jakes Corner Bar presents itself as a "quite small" RV stop located "off the beaten path." This suggests a more secluded and intimate setting compared to larger, more conventional RV parks. For those seeking a quieter and less crowded environment away from the main tourist areas, Jakes Corner Bar might be an appealing option.
One reviewer recounts their experience of stopping at a nearby store in search of a spare part, only to discover that RV registration is handled at the park itself. This indicates that Jakes Corner Bar provides at least basic registration services for RVers. Upon arriving at the park, the reviewer was directed to space 31 or 32 by Mark, who was contacted by the "lady at the store." This suggests a collaborative and helpful approach to accommodating new arrivals, even those just passing through.
The experience of this first-time visitor highlights the friendly and welcoming community at Jakes Corner Bar. A resident even came out to assist with backing into space 32, despite having a boat trailer tongue in the driveway. This act of neighborly assistance underscores the welcoming atmosphere. Furthermore, when the visitor discovered a lack of over-the-air TV reception, a nearby resident readily shared their Wi-Fi password, demonstrating a spirit of camaraderie and helpfulness among the park's occupants. The reviewer was clearly impressed by this acceptance of newcomers, even for overnight stays, stating, "Now it doesn't get much better accepting new people even over nighters."
Adding to its unique character, Jakes Corner Bar has historical significance as an old stage stop from the early 1900s and also served as a ranch. This rich history adds a layer of intrigue and charm to the location, offering a glimpse into the past for those who appreciate historical sites. The reviewer concluded that they "would go back if in the area," further attesting to the positive experience despite its unconventional nature.
Another reviewer, a returning visitor for the "2nd year," enthusiastically praised the "atmosphere" as the best part of Jakes Corner Bar. They specifically mentioned Joseph, the bartender, as being "the best," and raved about the "chicken wings and drinks" being "awesome!" This feedback highlights the social aspect of Jakes Corner Bar, suggesting that it serves as a gathering place with a positive and enjoyable ambiance, good food, and drinks. The presence of a well-regarded bartender further emphasizes the bar's role as a central feature of this establishment.
The reviewer also described the group of people at Jakes Corner Bar as "very eccentric." While "eccentric" can have various interpretations, in this context, combined with the overall positive and welcoming tone of the reviews, it likely suggests a unique and perhaps unconventional community of individuals who contribute to the park's distinct character and atmosphere. This might appeal to RVers looking for an experience outside the norm, where they can encounter interesting and friendly people.
Considering the platform category "RV parks near me," Jakes Corner Bar offers a different kind of RV stop. It's not just about parking your RV; it's about engaging with a small, friendly community, enjoying the amenities of a bar and potentially good food, and experiencing a location with historical roots. While it might lack some of the standard amenities of a larger RV resort, its unique charm and welcoming atmosphere seem to be its primary draws.
For local users in the Payson area looking for a short-term RV stop with a social element, or perhaps even a unique long-term experience, Jakes Corner Bar presents an intriguing option. The positive feedback regarding the owners (referred to as Mark), the friendly residents, the enjoyable bar atmosphere, and the historical significance all contribute to its appeal. The fact that it's "off the beaten path" might also be a selling point for those seeking a quieter and more secluded location.
However, potential visitors should be aware that it is described as "quite small," which might imply limited space and amenities compared to larger RV parks. It would be advisable to contact Jakes Corner Bar directly at (928) 951-2067 or +1 928-951-2067 to inquire about the size of the RV spaces, the availability of hookups (water, electricity, sewer), and any other specific amenities they offer. Asking about their hours of operation for the bar and food service would also be beneficial.
In conclusion, Jakes Corner Bar offers a distinctive and welcoming experience for RVers near Payson, Arizona. Its small size, off-the-beaten-path location, friendly community, on-site bar and food, and historical significance make it a unique option among "RV parks near me." While it might not offer all the amenities of a larger resort, its charm, atmosphere, and the positive interactions with residents and staff seem to create a memorable stay. If you're looking for an RV stop with character and a social vibe, Jakes Corner Bar is definitely worth considering. Contact them directly for more details and to experience its eccentric hospitality firsthand.

Jakes Corner Bar Reviews
Quite small off the beaten path. Stopped looking for a spare at the store but RV registering is at the parkLady at the store made a call to Mark who told her space 31 or 32. I went to 32 and a resident came out to help me back in, he had a boat trailer tounge in the driveway. Everyone was friendly and a resident I was near said no over the air TV and gave me the password for their Wifi. Now it doesn't get much better accepting new people even over nighters. This was an old stage stop early 1900 and ranch. I would go back if in the area. Very eccentric group of people.

Apr 26, 2025 · the momFunny seeing some of the reviews. First of all this is not the RV park and those who ride in with large groups can’t just assume you’re privileged and that the group can be handled at a moments notice from here or any establishment. I’ve never had bad service for myself or with my groups of riders. It’s a great local bar ran by a fantastic lady who works her arse off for everyone. Great drinks, food, atmosphere and people.
Feb 26, 2025 · DanielWell this was one of our favorite places to stop for lunch on the bike. Well, not so much anymore. We told all our friends you have to stop and try the pigs wings. Now you get barely any meat. More like an appetizer not a meal. It’s like a third the size now. Cowboy beans are runny, more like a soup, and they were barely warm. Fries you get less than half now. We were all very disappointed 😞. Might stop for a drink, like the coziness of the bar. But that’s about it. Yes I understand food has gone up, but this is ridiculous.
Dec 22, 2024 · R SCould be a fun place, but completely unprepared for the crowds of bike week.
