Love's RV Hookup Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in the Gulfport, Mississippi area, Love's RV Hookup, located at 9240 County Farm Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503, USA, presents a straightforward option primarily geared towards overnight or very short-term stays. It's crucial to understand that Love's RV Hookup operates as part of a larger Love's Travel Stop, which includes a gas station, convenience store, and other truck stop amenities. This context significantly shapes the environment, services, and features of the RV hookup area.
The environment at Love's RV Hookup is inherently influenced by its location within a busy truck stop. As noted by a customer, it's essential to "expect traffic." This means that RVers can anticipate a significant amount of activity from large trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the premises at all hours. One reviewer specifically mentioned the "loud and busy" parking lot, advising visitors to be prepared for cars circling while backing in and to expect noise from "truck exhaust, horns and subwoofers during the night." Additionally, the smell of "greasy fried chicken" from the on-site Chester's is reported to be prevalent in the area. While convenient for a quick meal, this may impact the overall ambiance for some visitors seeking a more traditional RV park setting.
In terms of services, Love's RV Hookup provides basic utility hookups for RVs. One reviewer mentioned having hookups available, which is a fundamental requirement for an overnight stop. However, specific details about the reliability or amperage of the electrical service, water pressure, or sewer connections are not provided. One crucial point raised is regarding the water hookup at site 4, which is located "at the very back," necessitating a long water hose. This highlights the potential for variability in site layouts and the importance of being prepared with adequate supplies.
The features of Love's RV Hookup are somewhat limited compared to dedicated RV parks designed for longer stays. A significant drawback mentioned by a reviewer is the lack of pull-through sites. This required the reviewer to disconnect their tow dolly and car, adding inconvenience after a long drive. The presence of a "community dump site" is noted, but accessing it requires moving the RV and waiting for workers to unlock it, which can be less convenient than having individual sewer hookups at each site or a readily accessible dump station. A dog park is mentioned as being on the premises, which is a positive feature for travelers with pets. However, a concerning observation was "a couple people sleeping in their cars near the dog park," leading to a recommendation to not leave valuables in vehicles, suggesting potential security concerns or a transient environment.
Promotional information for Love's RV Hookup is not provided in the reviews. Typically, truck stop RV hookups are offered at a relatively basic rate, primarily catering to the convenience of overnight stays rather than a destination vacation. It is advisable to contact Love's directly at (228) 832-0199 or +1 228-832-0199 to inquire about current pricing, availability, and any specific policies or amenities offered at this location. Given its nature as part of a larger travel stop, promotions might be less common than at dedicated RV resorts.
The reviews offer a candid perspective on the experience at Love's RV Hookup. One reviewer found it "perfectly fine to stop at and rest" after a long drive, appreciating the availability of hookups for an overnight stay. This highlights its utility for travelers needing a brief respite and essential services. However, the second review presents a more critical view, citing issues such as low-hanging tree limbs at site 4 (requiring careful parking), the inconvenient location of the water hookup, the noisy and busy environment, the prevalent food odors, the inconvenient community dump site access, and potential security concerns. This reviewer explicitly stated they would "not recommend and will not be back," indicating a less than satisfactory experience overall.
A unique and somewhat unusual feature mentioned is the presence of an alligator in the front pond, accompanied by warning signs not to feed it. While this might be an interesting novelty, it also underscores the non-traditional nature of this RV stop compared to typical campgrounds. It's a reminder that the primary function is to serve travelers on the go, rather than offering a curated recreational environment.
For those searching "RV parks near me" in Gulfport, MS, Love's RV Hookup offers a no-frills option for short stays, particularly for those already planning to utilize the other services at the travel stop, such as fuel or the convenience store. However, potential visitors should be well aware of the likely noisy environment, the potential for site-specific issues like inconvenient utility hookups or tree obstructions, and the limitations in amenities compared to dedicated RV parks. If a quiet, scenic, or amenity-rich experience is desired, alternative "RV parks near me" in the Gulfport area would likely be more suitable.
In conclusion, Love's RV Hookup in Gulfport, MS, serves primarily as a convenient overnight stopping point for RV travelers due to its location within a Love's Travel Stop. While it offers basic hookups, the environment is characterized by significant truck and vehicle traffic, noise, and odors. Features are limited, with no pull-through sites and a community dump station with restricted access. Security concerns have also been noted. For a quick, functional stop, it may suffice, but for a more restful or enjoyable RV experience, exploring other "RV parks near me" in the region is strongly recommended. Contacting Love's directly at the provided phone numbers can offer the most current information on rates and availability, allowing potential visitors to make an informed decision based on their individual needs and expectations.

Love's RV Hookup Reviews
Good place to stop over night, but it is a truck stop/gas station, store, so expect traffic. I wished it had pull thru's since I had to disconnect tow dolly and car, but I knew that going into it. after driving for 7 hours, it was perfectly fine to stop at and rest, and have hook-up available. Glad we rested there
Mar 31, 2025 · Michael CunninghamSite 4 has low hanging tree limbs so you will have to park closer to site 3 to avoid them hitting the slide outs and roof. Water is at the very back, so make sure that your hose is long enough. Parking lot is loud and busy, so be prepared for cars to circle around you when backing in and expect to hear truck exhaust, horns and subwoofers during the night. The greasy fried chicken smell is prevalent from Chester’s. Community dump site, you will have to move to dump your tanks and wait for the workers to unlock it. I noticed a couple people sleeping in their cars near the dog park, so I would recommended to not leave valuables in your vehicle. Ideal for a quick stop, but I would not recommend and will not be back. Per the warning signs, do not feed the alligator in the front pond.
Dec 27, 2024 · Trey DoocyWe stayed in site 4. Convenient location to stay during our travels. Only used the electric service. Nice dog park but full of poop due to inconsiderate people. Power washing going on which flooded the corner our electric cord was located. Spots are located right at entrance so it was a very busy & LOUD location. Not a restful night’s sleep.
Feb 06, 2025 · GAIL BECKERThis is our second stay at a Love's RV Stop. The price on this location is higher than it should be because it does not have showers and a private bath. Yes, showers can be taken inside the store, but that is an additional fee. Maybe that could be included? Also, the WiFi is basically non-existent. We had one bar that would not stay on. We couldn't use it. Parking is easy, but it is not in a private, fenced area. There is a nice dog park nearby. Chester Chicken and McDonalds are on site.
Jul 03, 2024 · Patty EVery nice place to stop for the night in our motorhome. Huge flat level concrete pad, easy to back in. Feels very safe.
