McKinley's Marina & RV Park Introduce
Looking for "RV parks near me" in the scenic Waldport, Oregon area? McKinley's Marina & RV Park, located at 850 OR-34, offers a fantastic waterfront experience that consistently earns high praise from its visitors. With a strong 4 & 1/2 star rating, this park is a popular choice for those seeking not just a place to park their RV, but a destination that combines natural beauty with a range of recreational activities and excellent service.
One of the standout features of McKinley's Marina & RV Park is its prime location on Alsea Bay. Reviewers rave about the "waterfront, back in sites" which provide breathtaking views of the bay. Guests can enjoy watching the mesmerizing ebb and flow of the tides and observe local crabbers returning with their daily catch. This direct access to the waterfront creates a unique and immersive coastal experience, allowing guests to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the area. The abundance of water also attracts a rich variety of birds and wildlife, making it a haven for nature lovers.
While the park does have some full-time RV sites, many reviewers who stayed for shorter periods, such as for an annual bike race in May, did not find this to be an issue. This suggests a harmonious blend of long-term residents and temporary visitors, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. In addition to RV sites, McKinley's Marina & RV Park also offers waterfront tent camping, providing an option for those who prefer a more traditional outdoor experience with stunning bay views right from their campsite.
For those looking to engage in local activities, McKinley's Marina & RV Park truly shines. They offer convenient boat and equipment rentals specifically for crabbing. This is a significant advantage for visitors wanting to try their hand at catching the local Dungeness crab. One delighted guest recounted an "excellent day of crabbing" after renting a boat at the marina. Furthermore, the park provides a "perfect crab cleaning station," a thoughtful amenity that simplifies the process of preparing your catch. The staff even go the extra mile, with one reviewer বিশেষভাবে mentioning the helpful individual who demonstrated the best way to split and clean the crab – a valuable service for both novice and experienced crabbers.
Beyond the water-based activities, McKinley's Marina & RV Park offers a range of recreational facilities on land. On the east side of the property, there is a large field available for dry camping, providing a more rustic option for those who prefer it. In the grassy area, guests can enjoy a beach volleyball court, a tetherball pole, and a basketball hoop, offering opportunities for friendly competition and outdoor fun for all ages. This variety of amenities ensures that there's something to keep everyone entertained during their stay.
The service at McKinley's Marina & RV Park is consistently praised in the reviews. One guest described the woman who checked them in as "knowledgeable, friendly, and humorous," setting a positive tone for their entire stay. The park itself is noted to be clean with "GREAT facilities," indicating a commitment to maintaining a comfortable and enjoyable environment for all visitors. The positive interactions with staff members, particularly those involved with the boat rentals and crab cleaning, highlight the park's dedication to customer satisfaction.
While the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, one guest offered a minor suggestion for the gift area: to consider selling items like shampoo and conditioner for those who might forget essential toiletries. This small suggestion reflects the overall positive experience, where even minor inconveniences are seen as opportunities for improvement. It also indicates that the park does have a gift area, which might offer other useful items or souvenirs.
The location of McKinley's Marina & RV Park also offers the added benefit of being within walking distance of a "fabulous little Bakery," Pacific Sourdough. This local gem is described as "positively worth visiting," providing guests with easy access to delicious baked goods and perhaps a taste of the local culinary scene. The proximity to such a highly-regarded establishment adds to the overall appeal of the RV park.
In conclusion, McKinley's Marina & RV Park offers a compelling package for those searching for "RV parks near me" in Waldport, Oregon. Its waterfront location on Alsea Bay provides stunning views and opportunities for crabbing and boating. The park boasts clean facilities, a friendly and helpful staff, and recreational amenities for all ages. McKinley's Marina & RV Park Reviews
Strong 4 & 1/2 Stars!McKinleys RV Park and Marina is our go to park, when coming to Waldport for an annual bike race each May. The park is not too crowded during this time of year. This park does have a few full time RV sites but we did not find that to be an issue. They also offer waterfront tent camping. We’ve always booked a waterfront, back in site for our stays. The view of Alsea Bay is worth it and we can watch the tides go in and out, as well as watching crabbers coming in with their haul. There is a large field on the east side of the property for dry camping and a beach volleyball court, a tetherball and a basketball hoop in the grass area. They offer boat and equipment rentals for crabbing. I love the abundance of water, birds and wildlife in this area. There is a fabulous little Bakery within walking distance of this park; “Pacific Sourdough,” positively worth visiting.
May 05, 2025 · Dianna MThe moment we arrived set the scene for the next 4 days. The woman who checked us in was knowledgeable, friendly. and humorous!! The park was clean, and had GREAT facilities. We rented a boat and had a excellent day of crabbing!! Love that they have a perfect crab cleaning station and hats of to the guy handling the boats who demonstrated how to split and clean the crab prior to cooking in a way we had never done. One suggestion would be to the gift area to perhaps sell some shampoo and conditioner (I had forgot mine) lol. Had a fabulous time and will definitely be going back!
Jul 26, 2024 · Dellisa BelvealI'll start off with the normal review stuff. The park is beautiful and impeccably cared for. Laundry facilities are clean and up to date. We loved the fact that we could launch our kayaks right here & spend the day exploring the water. 100% recommend! Our favorite part of this park is BY FAR the camp host Randy. Our Autistic son took to him from the second we arrived. We stayed a week and there were no other kids here. Randy took it upon himself to come visit our son and take him on golf cart rides multiple times a day. They even have a handshake they do at the end of the ride when he drops him back off. Thank you so much for making this part of our adventure so fun for our guy 🖤
Sep 01, 2024 · Gary & Ashleigh ThomasWe didn't stay at the RV park but did the crab fishing on the harbor! It was a blast, and I'm so glad we did it!They have everything for you to be a successful crab fishing man for the day.The crab fishing is 3 hours, and we paid around $130 per boat. Between both boats we rented, we all caught hundreds of crabs! We ended up keeping 22 male crabs that met the size requirement to keep and eat.In the end, we had them cook the 22 crabs for convenience and paid .75 cents per crab to cook. Be aware you must kill, and clean the crabs! They have the stations to do this, but if you're not a strong stomach person, you might not enjoy that step!My suggestion to improve for staff is give better instructions! We never were given great boat instructions on how to drive the boat, and tips like putting the motor into neutral when your coming up on the crab line. If you don't, you will most likely run over the line and kill the motor and be stuck until staff can help you!Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we would go again!
Jul 01, 2024 · Cameron PewI’m giving this place a 4 star but I think as a tenter it would be a 3 star. The location of the tent spots were beautiful on the water but the sites were so close together with no privacy. The showers are coin showers which I wish it was included but the showers were nice with good pressure. The bathrooms were clean. There were a few outhouses close to the tent area which was also nice. We wish we could have tried the crab fishing but were just passing through. All in all nice place but be prepared if you are tenting that you will be right against your Neighbor.
