The information provided below is based on publicly available customer reviews, which offer contrasting perspectives on the experience of living at or interacting with Midwest Manufactured Home Community. It is important to consider both positive and negative feedback to gain a balanced understanding.
Environment and Location:
Midwest Manufactured Home Community is situated in Independence, Missouri. One reviewer described the community as "peaceful" with "friendly elderly residents," suggesting a potentially quiet and neighborly atmosphere for some. The grounds are also noted as being "well-maintained and well-lit at night," which contributes to a sense of security and aesthetic appeal.
The location offers the convenience of having "everything within walking distance," although the specifics of what is within walking distance are not detailed. Additionally, downtown Independence is mentioned as being a "short 15-minute drive away," providing access to a wider range of amenities, employment opportunities, and cultural attractions.
However, another reviewer presented a significantly different perspective on the community environment. This review alleged issues with "hard drugs" and frequent police presence ("cops are there DAILY and if not multiple times a day"). The reviewer also reported witnessing drug paraphernalia and experiencing disruptive behavior from neighbors and their visitors, including blocked roadways and homeless individuals loitering on neighboring properties. Furthermore, concerns were raised about the general upkeep of some homes and the accumulation of trash.
These contrasting descriptions highlight the potential for varied experiences within the community and suggest that prospective residents should conduct thorough due diligence to assess the current environment for themselves.
Services and Features:
Customer reviews provide some insights into the services and features offered at Midwest Manufactured Home Community, though these accounts can differ significantly.
One positive aspect highlighted was "top-notch customer service" from the community manager, Tina. The reviewer recounted a helpful and proactive experience during their search for a home, with Tina going above and beyond to provide options and ensure a smooth move-in process. Any minor issues encountered upon moving in were reportedly "addressed and resolved incredibly quickly, by the very next day." Tina's responsiveness and dedication, even on her day off, were specifically commended.
In contrast, another reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of services provided after moving in. They stated that "they don't cover anything once you move in," including pest control, despite experiencing roach infestations in a new home within two months of moving in. This suggests that residents may be responsible for a range of maintenance and pest control issues.
The availability and operating hours of the community pool were also mentioned. According to one reviewer, the pool closes early at 4 pm daily, which may be inconvenient for residents who work during the day.
Regarding community amenities and activities, one reviewer noted the absence of typical community events such as "movie night, pool night, etc." This suggests a potentially less active or organized community social scene compared to some other residential communities.
Finally, concerns were raised about winter maintenance, specifically snow removal. One reviewer claimed that the snow plowing was inadequate, leaving vehicles "plowed in" and making it difficult to navigate the community after snowfall.
Promotional Information and Resident Experiences:
Currently, the provided information does not include any specific promotional offers from Midwest Manufactured Home Community. The resident experiences, however, offer a glimpse into the potential benefits and drawbacks of living in this community.
The positive review emphasizes the helpfulness of the community manager and the peaceful atmosphere with friendly residents. The quick resolution of move-in issues and the convenient location were also highlighted as significant advantages.
The negative review paints a starkly different picture, focusing on alleged drug issues, lack of post-move-in support, pest problems, restrictive pool hours, inadequate snow removal, and disruptive neighbor behavior. This account raises serious concerns about safety, community management, and the overall quality of life within the park.
The contrasting nature of these reviews underscores the importance of prospective residents seeking out the most current information and, if possible, visiting the community and speaking with current residents to form their own informed opinion.
Considerations for Potential Residents:
Based on the available customer reviews, individuals considering Midwest Manufactured Home Community as a potential residence should carefully consider the following:
- Customer Service: The positive review suggests that the community manager, Tina, provides excellent customer service and is responsive to residents' needs. However, this experience may not be universal.
- Community Environment: Be aware of the conflicting descriptions of the community environment. While one reviewer found it peaceful, another reported significant issues with drug activity and disruptive behavior. It is crucial to assess the current environment independently.
- Pest Control and Maintenance: Understand that pest control and potentially other maintenance responsibilities may fall upon the residents. Inquire about the community's policies regarding these issues.
- Amenities: Take note of the limited operating hours of the pool and the apparent lack of organized community events. Consider if these aspects align with your lifestyle.
- Winter Conditions: If moving in during winter or if winter weather is common in the area, inquire about the snow removal procedures and their effectiveness.
- Safety and Security: The allegations of drug activity and frequent police presence are serious concerns that should be investigated further. Consider contacting the local police department for any publicly available information about incidents in the area.
- Property Upkeep: Be aware of the reported issues with some residents not maintaining their properties and the potential for trash accumulation. Assess the overall condition of the community during a visit.
- Speak to Current Residents: If possible, try to speak with multiple current residents to gain a broader and more balanced understanding of their experiences living in the community.
Conclusion:
Midwest Manufactured Home Community in Independence, Missouri, presents a complex picture based on the available customer reviews. While one reviewer praised the customer service and peaceful atmosphere, another reported significant concerns regarding safety, drug activity, maintenance support, and community management. These starkly contrasting experiences highlight the need for prospective residents to conduct thorough due diligence before making any decisions.
Visiting the community, speaking with current residents, and inquiring in detail about the community's policies on safety, maintenance, pest control, and other relevant aspects are strongly recommended. While the convenient location and potentially helpful management (as reported by one reviewer) may be attractive, the serious allegations raised in the negative review warrant careful consideration and investigation to ensure a safe and satisfactory living environment. Midwest Manufactured Home Community Reviews
Absolutely top-notch customer service! Tina, the community manager, has been a complete joy to work with. When we were looking for a two-bedroom, she not only showed us a suitable option but also went above and beyond to inform us about a similarly priced three-bedroom that became available – which we happily took! Any minor issues we encountered upon moving in were addressed and resolved incredibly quickly, by the very next day. Tina even communicated with me on her day off, patiently answering all my numerous questions. The community itself is peaceful, with friendly elderly residents. The grounds are well-maintained and well-lit at night. The convenience of having everything within walking distance and downtown just a short 15-minute drive away is a huge plus. Don't let other reviews deter you! As with any location in the humid Midwest, maintaining cleanliness and using preventative measures like boric acid will help manage pests.
Apr 30, 2025 · TabosscoMoved in last weekend in June of 2024, if you want to use the pool make sure you don't work during the day cause it's closed by 4pm daily, I moved into a brand new home, with in 2 months roaches started to come out of back of frig and dishwasher (they don't cover pest control you have to). Really they don't cover anything once you move in. If you don't mind the hard drugs then this is the place for you to move in, cause the cops are there DAILY and if not multiple times a day. I came home after working 11 hours and there was a bag of drug paraffin and items to help someone that has taken something hard core, reported that to the office nothing was done about it. Then the crack head that lived next door had an ex felon girlfriend that would be on property and the office knew and nothing done until the crackhead didn't pay rent and then broke out all the windows in the home. Was told you can't work on your vehicles there and that's all they do there and most of the homes people don't take care of and then there is trash sitting outside and nothing is done about it even after calling and informing the office. Winter time don't plan on getting out for anything, all they do is have the tru k make 1 pass down the middle then your vehicle gets plowed in and it makes it hard to get out of the area when there is only 1 lane to travel in. There is nothing done for a community like other have such as movie night, pool night, etc. When people have (parties at thier place) the company they have over block road ways so you can't get through to leave or come home. Neighbors allow the homeless to hang around their property. I wouldn't waste your time looking at this community and look somewhere else.....
Feb 19, 2025 · Aaron RalphAll mobile home parks have their questionables, but I really like it here. Only been here a few months and have already met some really great people that I'm happy to call friends. Most of the people here, even if you don't know each other at all, still try to keep an eye out for everybody else.Manager Tina is a godsend. She works so hard to try to keep everything up and running as it should. And she was really helpful and understanding of our situation when we applied here. The hardships my sister and I were enduring at that time, this place was a miracle in disguise.Pay your rent on time, don't tear things up, mind the rules, and treat each other with respect. Love it.
Mar 31, 2024 · Valerie StumpIt’s nice but i didn’t know “move-in ready” meant absolutely crawling with roaches, a dishwasher that doesn’t drain, a bathtub that doesn’t drain, doors that don’t shut properly, and especially an air conditioner unit that sounds like a spaceship that was promised to be fixed before i moved in(3 months later i’m still listening to a spaceship every day.
Oct 15, 2024 · Carli McgowenIf u want a great place to live with no nonsense then this is the place. This small community has came along ways in a short period. All of the people r very friendly, the staff is always there to help in anyway they can. They have a great pool, play ground, it is very well monitored and very well maintained by the staff. The people of the community really watch out for the children while they r out playing. There has to be adult supervision with the children while at the pool or play ground. Over all u couldn't ask for a better place to live. The manager is great she is there to help in anyway she can and is always thinking of different things to do and make the community even better to live in. I ask all why not give it a shot check it out and come be a part of this community. Maintance is on the ball with anything a person needs. The roads r very well maintained in the WInter and summer. There is grass mowing if u need it. Really can't say enough about how this community really is. COME CHECK IT OUT would love to have new people come and join us and our community
