Campus RV Park Introduce
Campus RV Park, situated at 500 W Pacific Ave in Independence, Missouri, offers a conveniently located option for those searching for 'RV parks near me' in the Kansas City metropolitan area. With contact numbers (816) 254-1815 and +1 816-254-1815, prospective visitors can easily inquire about availability and specific amenities.
For local users seeking 'RV parks near me' that provide easy access to urban conveniences, Campus RV Park's "perfect location" stands out. Reviews highlight its proximity to "wonderful restaurants and bars," making it an attractive base for those who enjoy dining out and local nightlife without extensive travel. This urban setting distinguishes it from more secluded or rural RV park options in the region.
In terms of site features, Campus RV Park offers "level sites" with "full hookups," a significant advantage for RV travelers. Full hookups typically include connections for water, electricity (both 30 and 50 AMP service are mentioned), and sewer, providing a comfortable and self-sufficient experience for RV stays. The presence of "cement pads with grass between sites" suggests a degree of site organization and some green space for residents.
For pet owners, the availability of a "large grass field for dogs" is a notable amenity, providing a dedicated space for exercise and recreation for furry companions. This feature can be a deciding factor for RVers traveling with pets when choosing from various 'RV parks near me'. Additionally, the "large grass field" could also serve as a general area for outdoor activities and relaxation.
Positive feedback also emphasizes the management, with one reviewer describing "the couple that run the park" as "very nice and accommodating." This suggests a welcoming and helpful on-site presence, which can significantly enhance the overall experience for visitors staying at 'RV parks near me'.
However, it is crucial to consider all aspects of the feedback to provide an objective introduction. One reviewer noted some potential drawbacks associated with the urban location, specifically mentioning that the park "looks like some people live there in their campers." While long-term residents can contribute to a sense of community in some RV parks, it's a factor that short-term visitors may perceive differently.
A significant concern raised in one review is the noise level, with the reviewer stating, "Train is very noisy all night long. Lots of sirens." This suggests that the urban location, while offering conveniences, may also come with the typical sounds of city life, which could be disruptive to some visitors seeking a quiet retreat among 'RV parks near me'.
Another area of concern highlighted in the reviews pertains to customer service. One reviewer described it as "not great," detailing an unusual check-in experience via a "Ring doorbell" despite having a reservation. Furthermore, this reviewer recounted being "confronted... about paying" the morning after arrival, even though payment had been made via credit card with a receipt. Such experiences can detract from the overall satisfaction of staying at any 'RV park near me'.
While the reviews mention the availability of "WIFI" and "bathrooms," neither reviewer reported using these facilities, so their condition and quality remain unknown based on the provided information. Similarly, "laundry" facilities are mentioned as not being used by one reviewer, leaving their status unverified.
When considering Campus RV Park as one of the 'RV parks near me', potential visitors should weigh the benefits of its location – proximity to restaurants and bars – against the potential drawbacks of urban noise (trains and sirens) and the reported issues with customer service. The availability of full hookups and a dog-friendly area are definite positives for many RV travelers.
For local users specifically searching for 'RV parks near me' for short-term stays while exploring Independence or visiting the Kansas City area, Campus RV Park offers a centrally located option with essential amenities. However, it would be advisable to inquire about measures taken to mitigate noise and to confirm the check-in and payment procedures to avoid the issues encountered by a previous guest.
In conclusion, Campus RV Park in Independence, MO, provides an urban 'RV park near me' with the advantages of a convenient location near restaurants and bars, level sites with full hookups, and a large dog park. While the management is described as nice and accommodating by one reviewer, potential visitors should be aware of reported noise issues from trains and sirens, as well as concerns raised about customer service and check-in procedures. Contacting the park directly at (816) 254-1815 or +1 816-254-1815 to address these points and inquire about current policies and any ongoing improvements is recommended before making a reservation.

Campus RV Park Reviews
Perfect location. It's a short walk to wonderful restaurants and bars. Level sites, full hookups. We did not use the WIFI or bathrooms. Large grass field for dogs and playing. The couple that run the park are very nice and accommodating.
Mar 25, 2025 · David & Tara Vick30 and 50 AMP. Cement pads with grass between sites. Easy access to water, electric, and sewer. Didn't use bathrooms or laundry. Urban location. Looks like some people live there in their campers. Train is very noisy all night long. Lots of sirens. Customer service is not great. Had to check in via Ring doorbell (had a reservation) and the next morning the other owner confronted us about paying (we had paid with CC and had the receipt).
Apr 19, 2025 · Nicole BinczikWell, reservations were messed up, booked, and paid for the trip. As we checked in, it said it was in one month. I'm glad I had the paperwork. 2 of the waterlines froze and broke, and I had to move after setting up. The management was very accommodating and nice. Older married couple very nice 😁. All my reviews this one was good because the manager did right .
Mar 16, 2025 · Kenneth HarrisonI park my RV here when I have a jury trial in the Courthouse. It is close and quiet and has excellent utilities. It’s not a “camping” location, it’s more for a place to sleep or relax when doing other things around the city and it is only a few miles from the stadiums. Chiefs and Royals.
Dec 28, 2024 · Charlie BaldwinI don’t know who is giving this RVP high marks. I am in an “electric only” site. It is an old asphalt parking lot, no trees, grass or anything else between sites, no shade. Frankly it appears to be an RV storage area. I would have been better off staying at a Walmart or Cracker Barrel. The bathrooms looks clean, but the handicap stall has no hand held shower and the shower is up high, so there is no way a person in a wheel chair, scooter, or any other mobility device would manage a shower. No grab bars in the handicap stall. Come on Mormons- there are laws that you have to accommodate people with disabilities. How much does a hand held shower head cost?To be fair, the full hook up sites were all against trees, with some grass between, and seem shaded, but still very close together. My site cost $78 for 2 nights, not sure how much the full hookup sites are.I would not stay here again.
