Mountain Top RV Resort Introduce
For local RV enthusiasts and travelers searching for "RV parks near me" in the Rockwood, Tennessee area, Mountain Top RV Resort, located at 2538 Westel Rd, Rockwood, TN 37854, USA, offers a generally positive experience characterized by its serene environment, convenient location, and attentive management. Based on recent customer reviews, this resort provides a pleasant getaway, though potential guests with larger RVs or those planning late arrivals should be aware of certain considerations.
One of the standout features of Mountain Top RV Resort is its abundance of "shady and green areas." This creates a tranquil and picturesque setting, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings and providing welcome relief from the sun, especially during warmer months. The lush greenery contributes to a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, making it feel like a true escape.
Accessibility is another significant advantage of this RV park. Its convenient location near the highway ensures that getting to and from Mountain Top RV Resort is "a breeze." This ease of access is particularly beneficial for those who are passing through the area or plan to explore the surrounding region. The proximity to the highway simplifies travel logistics and makes it a convenient stopover or destination.
For those who prefer the convenience of online booking, Mountain Top RV Resort offers a "user-friendly website" with a "straightforward and hassle-free" reservation process. This efficient online system allows potential guests to easily check availability and secure their spot, catering to the preferences of modern travelers.
The management team at Mountain Top RV Resort receives high praise for their responsiveness. They are described as "very responsive to our needs and inquiries" and "accommodating for late arrivals," which was a significant benefit for one reviewer. This suggests a management team that is attentive to guest needs and willing to go the extra mile to ensure a positive experience. However, this same reviewer strongly advises against arriving when it's dark, implying potential navigation challenges within the park after nightfall.
Adding to the positive aspects, another reviewer described the campground as "very quiet" with "nice pathways to walk," a "pool area," a "small pond," and being "very clean!" These features suggest that Mountain Top RV Resort offers opportunities for relaxation and recreation within a well-maintained environment. The presence of a pool is a significant amenity, especially during warmer seasons, and the pathways and pond contribute to the park's peaceful ambiance.
The manager, Wendy, is specifically commended as being "great" and "most helpful" with any needs or questions. This reinforces the positive feedback regarding the management's commitment to guest satisfaction.
In terms of amenities, Mountain Top RV Resort offers "full services," including "laundry" facilities and "full hook ups." These are essential for a comfortable and convenient RV stay, providing the necessary utilities for modern recreational vehicles. Furthermore, the park boasts "big lots" with ample space "roomy in between lots too!" This spaciousness enhances privacy and comfort, allowing RVers to set up their sites without feeling cramped.
Despite these numerous advantages, there are a couple of points to consider. One reviewer noted "limited paved areas," which could pose a challenge for some RVers, particularly during wet weather or for those seeking a more stable and level surface. Additionally, while a 40 ft motorhome managed to navigate the park, it is noted that the resort is "not particularly big rig friendly." Maneuvering larger RVs within the park could be challenging, and it is recommended to call in advance to ensure a suitable spot is available.
The environment surrounding Mountain Top RV Resort in Rockwood, Tennessee, likely offers a blend of natural beauty and a peaceful atmosphere. Rockwood is situated in Roane County, which features scenic landscapes and is located near the Cumberland Plateau. This region is known for its outdoor recreational opportunities, including hiking, fishing, and exploring the natural terrain. The "mountain top" in the resort's name suggests a location that may offer elevated views or a setting within a mountainous or hilly area, contributing to the serene getaway experience.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" that prioritize a quiet and shady environment with good management and essential amenities, Mountain Top RV Resort is a strong contender. The availability of a pool, laundry facilities, and full hookups adds to its appeal for both short and potentially longer stays. However, owners of larger RVs should heed the advice to call ahead to confirm suitable site availability, and all visitors should plan to arrive during daylight hours to ensure easier navigation within the park.
While no specific promotional information was included in the provided reviews, the positive aspects highlighted – the beautiful setting, quiet atmosphere, responsive management, and essential amenities – can be seen as inherent benefits of choosing Mountain Top RV Resort for your RVing needs in the Rockwood, TN area.
In conclusion, Mountain Top RV Resort offers a generally positive and serene RVing experience in a shady and green setting near Rockwood, TN. Its easy highway access, user-friendly website, and responsive management are significant pluses. The availability of a pool, laundry, full hookups, and spacious lots further enhances its appeal. However, potential guests with big rigs should inquire about suitable sites in advance, and arriving during daylight hours is strongly recommended to avoid navigation difficulties. For those seeking a quiet and well-managed retreat in the mountains of East Tennessee, Mountain Top RV Resort is worth considering.

Mountain Top RV Resort Reviews
I recently stayed at this RV park with my 40 ft motorhome and had a generally positive experience. There are several great points worth mentioning:Pros:• Shady and Green Areas: The park is filled with plenty of shady spots and lush green areas, making it feel like a serene getaway.• Easy Access to the Highway: It’s conveniently located near the highway, which made getting to and from the park a breeze.• User-Friendly Website: The online reservation process was straightforward and hassle-free. It’s great for anyone who prefers booking online.• Responsive Management: The management team was very responsive to our needs and inquiries. They were also accommodating for late arrivals, which was a huge plus for us. BUT DO NOT COME WHEN ITS DARKCons:• Limited Paved Areas: The park has limited paved areas, which could be an issue for some RVers, especially when it rains or if you’re looking for a more stable ground.• Not Big Rig Friendly: Although we managed with our 40 ft motorhome, the park is not particularly big rig friendly. Maneuvering through the park can be challenging if you have a larger RV.Overall: I would consider coming back to this RV park, but I would recommend arriving during daylight hours to make navigation easier. Also, it’s a good idea to call in advance to ensure they have a suitable spot available for larger RVs. If you’re looking for a quiet, shaded place with good management and don’t mind some of the limitations, this could be a great stop for you.

Anything we needed or questioned she was most helpful! If this campground would have been full, parking may have been an issue for visitors, but for the most part it is a great get away up in the mountains!Full services, laundry, full hook ups, big lots! Roomy in between lots too!

Jan 20, 2025 · Tammy CouchWe stayed here over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful stay! Donavan is awesome, and his customer service is top-notch! Our 43-foot fifth wheel was easy to park in the pull through spot that was paved. We ended up staying an extra day because we enjoyed the quiet so much! Next time we are in the area, we will make sure to be back!
