Norway Commons Introduce
Welcome to Norway Commons, a mobile home park located at 99 Town and Country Dr, Norway, ME 04268, USA. If you are a local user searching for 'RV parks near me' or considering a mobile home community in the Norway, Maine area, Norway Commons presents itself as a 55+ community with a focus on a friendly and social environment. You can contact them at (207) 743-7333 or via mobile phone at +1 207-743-7333 for inquiries.
Based on the reviews from residents, Norway Commons appears to have a strong sense of community. One reviewer describes it as "friendly, community oriented," highlighting features such as a "game room with bingo" and a generally social environment. They also mention a "Friday coffee hour," suggesting regular opportunities for residents to socialize. Another simply states "Neighborly," reinforcing this positive aspect of the community.
However, it is crucial to note that one review also points out a significant restriction: "You have to be 55 or older to live there." This age requirement would apply to anyone considering residency, whether in a mobile home or potentially in an RV, if allowed. This immediately defines the demographic of this community.
The same reviewer also details some of the maintenance responsibilities and related costs. Residents are expected to handle their own mowing and snow shoveling, with the option to hire the park to do it. Notably, residents are "not allowed to hire an outside company" for these services. The park's plowing service is mentioned with specific pricing ($15 for regular snow, $20 for heavy snow), and there's a concern raised about instances where residents were charged for plowing they did themselves. This suggests that while services are offered, it's important to have clear communication and possibly documentation regarding who is responsible for maintenance.
The review also includes a concerning statement about how management handled issues under previous ownership: "If you have any issues they tell you to move if you dont like it." However, an update to the review is significant, noting that the previous comments were about "previous owners" and that the reviewer is "unsure of new owners." In fairness to the new management, the reviewer added two stars, indicating a potential improvement or at least uncertainty about the current situation.
Considering the platform category 'RV parks near me,' we need to explore if Norway Commons might accommodate recreational vehicles, keeping in mind the 55+ age restriction. Many retirement communities or 55+ mobile home parks do not typically cater to short-term RV stays, but some might allow RVs for residents or longer-term arrangements. Given the community-oriented aspects mentioned, it's plausible that residents who own RVs might be able to keep them on their property, subject to park regulations. However, this is speculative, and direct inquiry is necessary to confirm any RV-related policies.
Based on the available information, the environment of Norway Commons seems to be geared towards active seniors who appreciate a social and community-focused setting. The features include a game room for activities like bingo and regular social events such as Friday coffee hour. However, prospective residents should be aware of the 55+ age requirement and the policies regarding property maintenance.
To get a clearer picture of Norway Commons, especially regarding its potential suitability for RVers (who meet the age requirement) and the current state under new ownership, it would be beneficial to inquire about:
- Their policies on RVs: Are they permitted for residents? Are there specific guidelines or restrictions?
- The current management's approach to resident issues and maintenance.
- The cost of lot rentals and any associated fees.
- The specific amenities offered within the community, beyond the game room and coffee hour.
- Any current promotional information or what it's like to join the community under the new owners.
In summary, Norway Commons in Norway, ME, is a 55+ mobile home park that appears to foster a friendly and community-oriented environment with social activities. However, potential residents should be aware of the age restriction and the policies regarding property maintenance. For those searching for 'RV parks near me' who are 55 or older, it would be worth contacting Norway Commons to understand if they accommodate RVs for residents and to learn about the current atmosphere and management under the new owners. The positive update to one of the reviews suggests a potential for a more favorable experience now.
For local users who are 55 or older and seeking a mobile home community with a social aspect, or who might be interested in bringing an RV as a resident, contacting Norway Commons at the provided phone number is the recommended next step to gather more detailed and current information. This will help in determining if this community aligns with your needs and preferences.

Feb 25, 2025 · Theresa FilesYou have to be 55 or older to live there. You have to mow and shovel yourself or hire them to do it and you are not allowed to hire an outside company to do it for you. Its 15$ for them to plow the snow unless it's a heavy snow then its 20$ and they will sometimes only do half your driveway. They've been know to lie and charge you for a plow when you've done it yourself. If you have any issues they tell you to move if you dont like it.Update: review was for previous owners, unsure of new owners. Added 2 stars to be fair to the new owners.
Nov 08, 2023 · Jon WrightQuiet, quiet, quiet, YET your surrounded by plenty of trees, easy access to all surrounding towns, amenities, including close, but far enough away to beaches, camping, hiking, antiquing, to have your peace and quiet... Family owned, laid-back atmosphere, group dinners, monthly park meetings, bingo, and a great grassed common for whatever!!! See you later?
