Orange Manor West Co-Op Introduce
Welcome to Orange Manor West Co-Op, a unique manufactured home community located at 18 Kinsmen Dr in Winter Haven, Florida. While you might be searching under the category of "RV parks near me," Orange Manor West Co-Op operates as a resident-owned cooperative, offering a distinct lifestyle for those seeking long-term living in manufactured homes, particularly appealing to the snowbird population in the Winter Haven area of Polk County.
Our Environment: A Well-Maintained and Value-Oriented Community
Orange Manor West Cooperative is described by one resident as a "one of a kind manufactured home community" that offers "value for money" and is "well maintained." This suggests a community where residents feel they receive good value for their investment or fees, and that the overall upkeep of the park is a priority. The reviewer also notes that the community "looks good," indicating an aesthetically pleasing environment. This can be a significant factor for residents who appreciate a well-cared-for and attractive living space.
Furthermore, the community is recognized as being "in keeping with the snow bird lifestyle," which implies that it caters well to seasonal residents who spend their winters in Florida. This might suggest amenities and a social environment geared towards this demographic. However, another resident provides a more nuanced perspective, noting that while the community "looks nice and there are lots of nice people," there is a segment of residents who act as "park police."
This "park police" behavior reportedly involves some residents riding around on golf carts and attempting to enforce their own personal rules and regulations, even to the extent of telling residents they haven't seen before to leave, regardless of whether they live within the community and have the right to be there. This behavior is described as making residents feel unwelcome and hesitant to leave their homes. The reviewer contrasts this with the atmosphere on the "east side" (presumably of Winter Haven or another community), which is described as more laid-back with no such "unruly policing." This suggests that while the physical environment of Orange Manor West Co-Op might be appealing, the social dynamics and informal enforcement by some residents could be a point of concern for potential newcomers.

Resident Feedback: Balancing Positive Aspects with Concerns About Informal Policing
The resident feedback for Orange Manor West Co-Op presents a mixed picture. On one hand, the community is praised for its value, maintenance, and suitability for the snowbird lifestyle. This suggests a well-regarded and comfortable living environment for many residents.
However, the significant concern raised about some residents acting as "park police" and attempting to enforce their own rules is a serious issue that potential residents must consider. This behavior is described as unwelcoming and creating an atmosphere where residents feel restricted within their own community. The example given – being told to leave for walking a dog that is permitted – illustrates the arbitrary and potentially confrontational nature of this informal policing.
The recommendation to consider the "east side" for a more laid-back atmosphere without such "unruly policing" implies that these social dynamics might be specific to certain areas or the overall culture of Orange Manor West Co-Op. It underscores the importance of understanding the community's social environment in addition to its physical attributes and amenities.

Feb 29, 2024 · Kevin SIt looks nice and there are lots of nice people but some of the residents think they are the "park police" and try to make you abide by there own personal rules and regulations. They ride around on there golf carts looking for things to tell people to get out of orange manor even if you live within the residence because they said "they haven't seen you before" this should not be the case it makes you not want to leave your place. I would recommend the east side if you prefer a more layed back atmosphere and no unruly policing. I see if you are doing somthing wrong that you might say somthing but as for getting told to leave for such things as walking a dog that you have papers allowing you to have it in the residence.
