Possum Creek RV Park Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee area, Possum Creek RV Park, situated at 1845 Lee Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379, USA, presents a lakeside option that has garnered varied feedback from its visitors. You can contact them at (423) 332-8468 or +1 423-332-8468 for inquiries. Based on recent customer reviews, it's crucial to have a nuanced understanding of what this park offers before making a decision, especially if you are looking for a short overnight stay or have specific requirements for your RV setup.
One reviewer explicitly stated that Possum Creek RV Park "is not a place for an overnighter," suggesting that its primary appeal might lie with longer-term or seasonal residents. The reviewer indicated that the "few ideal sites" are typically occupied by these longer-term residents. This implies that availability for short-term stays might be limited, or the remaining sites might not be as desirable. If your search for "RV parks near me" is for a brief stopover, it would be wise to inquire about site availability and suitability beforehand.
A significant challenge highlighted in one review concerns the levelness of the RV sites. The reviewer noted that "none of them are level" and that "many are a tremendous challenge to get your rig situated." This resulted in damage to a jack on a 24' travel trailer after attempting to maneuver on four different sites. This feedback suggests that setting up your RV at Possum Creek RV Park might require significant effort and potentially leveling blocks or other equipment. If you have a larger rig or are not comfortable with challenging site setups, this is a crucial point to consider when looking at "RV parks near me." Additionally, some sites are oriented such that entry faces the hillside instead of the lake, which might affect the view and the ease of parking.
Another significant limitation mentioned is the absence of direct sewer hookups at the individual sites. While the park does have a dump station, accessing it with your RV might be problematic due to the park's layout and road conditions, as indicated by one reviewer's comment: "good luck getting your rig to it." For longer stays, this lack of on-site sewer can be a major inconvenience, potentially requiring the use of a portable waste tank (honey wagon) service, as suggested by a more positive reviewer who stayed for six weeks. If sewer hookups are a necessity for your RV lifestyle, Possum Creek RV Park might not be the most convenient option among "RV parks near me."
Further concerning amenities, one review pointed out that there is "no light in the restroom/shower area," and that this facility is "apparently closed all winter anyway." This suggests that the restroom and shower facilities might be basic and potentially unavailable during certain times of the year. Additionally, the park does not offer a laundry facility. For RVers who rely on these amenities for hygiene and convenience, the lack thereof at Possum Creek RV Park is a significant drawback to consider.
The infrastructure of the park also seems to be a point of concern, with one reviewer describing the roads as "very steep, rough and difficult." Navigating a large RV through such conditions can be challenging and potentially risky. This is another factor to weigh in when considering Possum Creek RV Park as one of your "RV parks near me," especially if you have a large or heavy rig.
One particularly concerning practice mentioned in a review is that "it is common practice to just allow the gray water tanks to drain at your site." The reviewer noted that while this might be somewhat acceptable with concrete pads and proper drainage to a grass filter, at Possum Creek RV Park, it drains directly onto crushed granite, leading to an ant infestation. If you are sensitive to pests or prefer a park with more stringent environmental practices, this information is important to consider.
Despite these significant drawbacks, one reviewer who stayed for six weeks while working a nuclear outage for TVA reported having a "great time" and mentioned that their lot was "spacious" and "right by the water." This positive feedback suggests that the experience at Possum Creek RV Park can be highly site-dependent. The beautiful lakeside location is indeed a significant asset, and for those who secure a favorable spot and are prepared for the limited amenities, the park might offer an enjoyable long-term stay, particularly for those working in the area.
The positive reviewer also recommended using a honey wagon service for sewer management, reinforcing the lack of on-site sewer hookups. Their experience highlights that for longer stays, adapting to the available infrastructure is necessary.
In terms of the environment, Possum Creek RV Park is described as a "beautiful property" due to its lakeside location. This suggests that despite the challenges with the sites and amenities, the natural setting can be quite appealing. If waking up to a water view is a high priority for your "RV parks near me" search, Possum Creek might still be attractive, provided you are willing to manage the other limitations.
Promotional information is not provided in the reviews. It is unknown if Possum Creek RV Park offers any discounts for longer stays, workers at the nearby facilities, or seasonal rates. To inquire about any potential promotions, contacting the park directly via phone would be necessary.
In conclusion, Possum Creek RV Park offers a potentially beautiful lakeside setting in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, which might be particularly appealing for long-term residents and those working at the nearby nuclear plant. However, based on recent reviews, prospective visitors should be prepared for potentially unlevel and challenging sites, a lack of direct sewer hookups, limited or seasonal restroom/shower facilities, no laundry, and rough roads. The practice of gray water drainage at sites might also be a concern for some. While one long-term visitor had a positive experience in a spacious waterfront lot, it appears that the quality of the stay can vary significantly depending on the site and the individual's tolerance for the limited amenities. If you are considering Possum Creek RV Park as one of your "RV parks near me," it is strongly recommended to contact the park directly to inquire about site availability, specific amenities, and to discuss any concerns based on the feedback provided.

Possum Creek RV Park Reviews
This is not a place for an overnighter. Basically these are seasonal permanent residents who have already chosen the few ideal sites. None of them are level. Many are a tremendous challenge to get your rig situated. I ruined a jack on my 24' TT after trying 4 different sites. Several of them face the wrong way so you're entry is facing the hillside instead of the lake. None of them have sewer. There is a dump station, but good luck getting your rig to it. There is no light in the restroom/shower area, which is apparently closed all winter anyway. There is no laundry facility. The roads are very steep, rough and difficult. It is common practice to just allow the gray water tanks to drain at your site. This would be somewhat acceptable if they were concrete pads and a hose was used to direct the drainage to a grass filter area, however since it drains right on the crushed granite, the place is crawling with ants so you will be fighting that all over the inside of your RV. It's a beautiful property but it's 50 years past being updated.
Oct 05, 2021 · Michael ScottWe had a great time here. Our lot was spacious and we was right by the water. We was here 6 weeks doing a nuclear outage for TVA and have zero complaints. If you stay here get a honey wagon to do your sewer. It is just easier than moving your camper every single time.
Nov 10, 2024 · FunTimesBeautiful, quiet, family oriented. We had water and electric hookupsUnfortunately, there was no sewer hookup, but they had a dump tank in a close central location. Plus, someone would come by and empty our black tank for a little money. It was worth every penny. We had a great experience.
Mar 15, 2023 · lewella manningWorse place ever. When we first went there not so great, but mgr said they were cleaning it up. Nasty and the resident area well check it out for yourself. However, it is open to the public to use the beach area any time and even just driving through. Remember if things are bad to contact TVA because they can't fix what they don't know.
Dec 15, 2018 · paula collThis place is so charming. You are right on the water. Almost every campsite has a view of the water. The managers are amazing and so easy to deal with. I read reviews that were very very negative about the type of people that live here and it's just not true. Everyone here is super nice, well established and great to be around. I feel safe and secure and absolutely love my little piece of paradise!
