For local RV travelers seeking "RV parks near me" and considering options in the Tonopah, Arizona area, Saddle Mountain RV Park, located at 40902 W Osborn Rd, Tonopah, AZ 85354, USA, presents a location with a seemingly appealing exterior but mixed feedback regarding management and environmental factors based on recent customer reviews. For inquiries or further information, they can be contacted at (480) 409-8881 or their mobile number +1 480-409-8881. Direct communication with the park is recommended for the most accurate details.
Tonopah, Arizona, is situated in the western part of the state, offering a more remote and potentially quieter environment compared to the bustling Phoenix metropolitan area. The landscape is characterized by desert terrain and open spaces. Saddle Mountain RV Park, being located in Tonopah, likely offers a setting surrounded by the natural beauty of the Arizona desert. This could appeal to RVers looking for a peaceful retreat away from city noise and congestion. The remoteness might also mean fewer immediate local amenities compared to parks closer to larger urban centers.
The customer reviews for Saddle Mountain RV Park present a stark contrast in experiences. One review details a negative interaction with the office staff, specifically a woman who was unwilling to provide a small amount of water, even for a fee, to travelers in need. The reviewers, who only required enough water to flush their toilet until their next destination, were met with resistance and told they would have to wait until the office opened in ten minutes and pay $50 for a site, even though they only needed 5-10 gallons of water. This experience left the reviewers feeling unsupported by the RV community and resulted in a highly negative impression of the management, particularly the woman in the office, whom they described with strong negative language. The review does mention friendly maintenance guys who attempted to help, but their efforts were seemingly curtailed by the office staff's rules.
The second review also raises significant concerns, albeit of a different nature. While the reviewer noted that the park appeared "beautiful" and "clean" upon initial approach, they were immediately deterred by a "horrendous smell." This odor was so overpowering that they decided against staying and opted for BLM land down the road instead. The reviewer strongly suggested that the owners consider relocating the park due to this pervasive smell. Despite acknowledging the seemingly "great and quiet" exterior, the smell was an absolute "turn off," preventing them from even entering the premises.
Considering these two recent reviews, the information available about Saddle Mountain RV Park reveals the following points:
- Potentially clean and visually appealing upon initial observation (based on one review).
- Located in Tonopah, Arizona, offering a desert environment.
- Reports of unhelpful and rigid behavior from at least one member of the office staff, specifically regarding a request for a small amount of water.
- An unwelcoming attitude towards travelers in immediate need, prioritizing site rental over basic assistance.
- Friendly maintenance staff who seemed willing to help but were constrained by office policies.
- A significant issue with a "horrendous smell" that deterred at least one potential guest from staying.
- The smell was severe enough to warrant a suggestion for the owners to relocate the entire park.
Information regarding standard RV park services and amenities such as hookups (electricity, water, sewer), restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, Wi-Fi access, or recreational areas is notably absent from the provided reviews. The focus of the feedback is primarily on the negative management interaction and the severe environmental odor. Therefore, it is impossible to objectively comment on the quality or availability of these typical RV park services based solely on this information.
Similarly, there is no mention of any promotional offers or special rates for Saddle Mountain RV Park in the provided text. Potential visitors would need to contact the park directly to inquire about pricing and any available discounts.
In conclusion, Saddle Mountain RV Park in Tonopah, Arizona, is presented as a location with a seemingly pleasant exterior but significant issues based on recent customer feedback. The negative experience with the office staff's unhelpful and inflexible attitude towards a simple request for water raises concerns about the overall hospitality and management approach. Furthermore, the report of a "horrendous smell" emanating from the park is a serious environmental concern that deterred at least one potential guest. Due to these significant negative reports, local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Tonopah area should exercise caution and consider these recent experiences when evaluating Saddle Mountain RV Park. It is strongly recommended to contact the park directly to inquire about the current management policies, the nature of the reported smell, and the availability and condition of essential RV park services before making any decisions. Visiting the park in person, if feasible, to assess the environment and interact with the management might also be a prudent step.

Saddle Mountain RV Park Reviews
We needed water and were willing to pay for it but the woman in the office wouldn’t even see us. There were a couple of friendly maintenance guys who tried to help but she would get mad if we went in before the office opened in TEN minutes. All we needed was enough to flush the toilet until we got to our next stop and we hoped that the RV community would be supportive. We could have gone in and taken the water - nobody was around - but we were honest and believed that people would be cool and helpful.Ultimately, not this place or this woman! She told the maintenance guy that we could wait until 9 and come in and pay $50 for the site. All we needed was 5-10 gallons of water. That’s $10/gallon. What a B!
Feb 11, 2025 · Cindi GehrungWent to pull in it's a beautiful place clean and all .......but the smell was horrendous we pulled up and instantly pulled back out and went to BLM land down the road. Definitely suggest the owners selling the lot and buying a new one away from the smell. Other than that from the outside look great and quiet. Just couldn't handle the smell. Definitely a huge turn off
Dec 19, 2024 · Brent TurnerLarge under utilized Campground RV resort packed with amenities. Yes it's a little out of the way from Phoenix, but if you have a Passport America Membership they offer 50% discount on the daily rates. Yes, the flies may be an issue from an adjacent Poultry Farm, but again this park is trying!! Clean property 👌 ✨️ We stayed here twice this winter season and if we come back next year, this will be one we will return to!👍
Mar 07, 2025 · Basket CaseBEWARE! Flies will consume you and the smell is not the best. Laundry room was hit and miss, first time we tried, no water works...next day the gas dryers had NO GAS so all clothes were wet. We were here for 7 days and if we could have found something else, we would have. Our rv neighbors, have dogs that go crazy with barking at 4am every single day....that would get our dog barking. We have been traveling for over a year now and parks have rules, this park has rules that are ignored. We will pass on this place in the future.
