Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in the Anniston, Alabama region, Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground, located at 24 Cheaha State Park Drive, Anniston, AL 36207, USA, presents itself as a potential option. Situated conveniently off I-20, this park offers a mix of positive attributes and some considerations for prospective visitors. This introduction aims to provide a detailed and objective overview based on recent customer reviews.
Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground can be contacted at phone number (256) 201-8012 or mobile phone +1 256-201-8012. These contact details are essential for making reservations and inquiring about specific amenities and policies.
One reviewer highlighted the park's quiet atmosphere, noting that the primary source of noise is the nearby highway. This is a common trade-off for parks offering easy access to major routes. The same reviewer lauded the owners as "helpful and super nice," indicating a positive interaction with the park's management. The laundry area was also praised for being clean and reasonably priced, although the reviewer did mention an issue with other guests leaving their laundry in the machines for extended periods.
However, this reviewer also raised a significant concern regarding the appointed "host." They described feeling constantly watched and recounted a specific incident where the host made leaf rings around dog poop and falsely accused the reviewer of not cleaning up after their pet. The reviewer clarified that while one pile might have been theirs, they had indeed picked up after their dog, and they observed that others in the park were not as diligent. They also mentioned finding piles of cat poop around their rental camper. Additionally, the reviewer felt the host overstepped boundaries by pointing out that their water hose wasn't heated in anticipation of freezing temperatures, deeming it none of the host's business unless it posed a risk to the park's infrastructure. Ultimately, this reviewer, despite appreciating the owners, stated they would not recommend staying due to the constant surveillance by the host.
In contrast, another reviewer had an overwhelmingly positive experience. They were impressed by the reservation process, which only required a name and rig size without a credit card deposit, indicating a level of trust and ease. Upon arrival, they were greeted by a "happy smiling man" they believed to be the owner, who personally guided them to their site. They described the park as clean and convenient due to its proximity to I-20, making it easily accessible for travelers. The park was also noted to be accommodating for big rigs. This reviewer stayed on a concrete site, mentioning that most sites were packed gravel. They found the park to be very comfortable for an overnight stay and considered it a good value at $40 for the night.
Considering these reviews, the environment of Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground presents a mixed picture. While the owners are consistently described as helpful and nice, the presence and behavior of the "host" appear to be a significant point of contention for at least one guest. The noise from the nearby highway is also a factor to consider for those sensitive to such sounds. On the positive side, the park is noted for its cleanliness and convenience, particularly for those traveling along I-20.
Based on the reviews, the services and features of Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground likely include:
- Laundry facilities: Described as clean and reasonably priced.
- Helpful and nice owners: Consistent positive feedback regarding the owners' demeanor and assistance.
- Convenient location off I-20: Easy access for travelers.
- Big rig accommodating: Suitable for larger RVs.
- Variety of site types: Offering both concrete and packed gravel sites.
- Guide to site upon arrival: Personalized assistance in parking.
- Affordable pricing: One reviewer mentioned a rate of $40 per night.
To provide a more comprehensive understanding, it would be beneficial to know if the park offers amenities such as restrooms and showers, Wi-Fi, recreational areas, or specific pet policies beyond the expectation of cleaning up after pets. The negative experience with the "host" regarding pet waste suggests that pets are likely allowed, but there might be specific rules or expectations.
Promotional information for Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground, aimed at local users searching for "RV parks near me" and those traveling through the area, could emphasize the following:
- **Conveniently Located Off I-20:** Highlight the easy access for travelers.
- **Helpful and Friendly Owners:** Promote the positive interactions guests have had with the park's management.
- **Clean and Well-Maintained Facilities:** Assure prospective guests of the cleanliness of the laundry area and the overall park.

- **Affordable Rates:** Position the park as a budget-friendly option, as indicated by the $40 nightly rate mentioned in one review.

However, it would also be prudent for the owners to address the concerns raised about the "host" to ensure a consistently positive experience for all guests. Clear guidelines and expectations for the host's interactions with campers could mitigate the issues reported.
For local users and travelers considering Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground, it is recommended to:
- **Be aware of potential highway noise:** If you are sensitive to traffic sounds, this might be a consideration.
- **Anticipate a potentially involved "host":** While the owners are praised, the experience with the host seems to vary.
- **Confirm site type availability:** If you prefer concrete or gravel, inquire about availability when booking.
- **Inquire about amenities:** If specific amenities like Wi-Fi, restrooms, showers, or recreational areas are important to you, confirm their availability with the park.
- **Clarify pet policies:** While cleaning up after pets is expected, ask about any other rules or restrictions.
In conclusion, Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground offers a convenient location off I-20, helpful owners, and clean laundry facilities at an affordable price. It appears to be well-suited for overnight stays and accommodating to big rigs. However, the potential for highway noise and the reported negative experience with the "host" are factors that prospective guests should consider. While the owners seem to be a significant asset, addressing the concerns about the host's interactions with guests would likely enhance the overall appeal of the park. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Anniston area, Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground warrants consideration, but it's advisable to be aware of the nuances highlighted in the customer reviews.

Scenic Drive RV Park and Campground Reviews
Quiet other than the highway noise. Owners are helpful and super nice. Laundry area is clean and not overpriced ( only issue is folks leaving clothes in machines for over an hour after finishing, then getted upset when I put them in their basket) The only request I would have is that the owners choose someone eles to be the " host". 5 minutes after knocks on my door, she made leaf rings around dog poop and blames me for not picking up after my dog, so I follow her out and tell her one pile might be mine but the others I picked up most definitely were NOT. While outside and on daily walks, I noticed NO ONE picks up poop, and around my rental camper is piles of cat poop, then another day she knocks to inform me that it is going to freeze soon, my hose isn't heated, none of her business unless we break the camp spigot. I wouldn't recommend staying due to constantly being watched. Owners are super!
Feb 13, 2025 · Sandy WhiteI rarely write reviews. But when someone is above and beyond TODAYS “average Joe” I need to share. Reservations are made over the phone. No credit card deposit. Just name and rig size. Could not have been nicer. Arrived to a happy smiling man who I think is the owner. Had a guide to lead me into my site. Clean place. Convenient off I20. Big rig accommodating. I had a concrete site. Most are packed gravel. If I was staying a few days. I’d be very comfortable. All for $40 for the night.
Nov 05, 2024 · Jonathan PennerPerfect camping experience. Owners are super polite and accommodating. Very clean showers and bathhouse. If you’re coming to the area, I would pick this RV park over any others. Everything you need is there.
Feb 03, 2025 · Sheral UWe stopped here on our way to Red Bay, AL and so glad we did. Cute RV park and outstanding service from employees! We will definitely be back again!
Feb 08, 2025 · Nicole GregoStayed in my Dad's camper here for the Talladega race. Clean, quiet campground with ample sized lots. Bathrooms were a little older but very clean and in good working order.
