Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park Introduce
For those actively searching for "RV parks near me" in the Sherwood, Oregon area, the Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park, located at 22770 SW Elwert Rd, Sherwood, OR 97140, USA, presents a unique camping option tied to the Elks Lodge organization. Unlike privately owned or publicly managed RV parks, this campground operates under the auspices of the Elks Lodge and, as indicated by customer reviews, has specific requirements and limitations that prospective visitors must be aware of. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the park based on the available information, highlighting its environment, services (and potential lack thereof), features, and any indications of promotional information or restrictions.
The environment of the Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park is alluded to in a positive review where a visitor mentions being treated "like Elk family," suggesting a welcoming and friendly atmosphere among those affiliated with the Elks. The fact that this visitor returns annually implies a level of comfort and enjoyment associated with the campground. While specific details about the physical environment, such as the layout of campsites, the presence of natural features like trees or greenery, or the overall ambiance of the park, are not extensively described, the positive sentiment from a recurring visitor suggests a pleasant setting for those who are part of the Elks community. However, it is important to note that this positive perception is tied to the visitor's Elks membership.
Information regarding the services and features of the Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park is somewhat limited and includes a significant point of concern raised in a negative review. This review states that the park offers "no water services," which is a crucial consideration for RV travelers, especially those planning more than a very short stay. The lack of water hookups at the campsites would necessitate that RVers be entirely self-contained in terms of their water supply and waste management. This is a significant limitation compared to many other RV parks that typically offer water, sewer, and electrical hookups. The positive review does not elaborate on the specific amenities available, focusing instead on the welcoming nature of the host. Therefore, based on the available information, it appears that essential services like water hookups may be absent, which could significantly impact the suitability of this park for many RVers seeking the conveniences usually associated with "RV parks near me."
A key feature of the Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park, and a significant point of restriction, is its apparent affiliation with the Elks Lodge. The negative review explicitly mentions a "membership permit" as a requirement, suggesting that this RV park is primarily intended for members of the Elks organization and possibly their guests. This drastically limits its accessibility to the general public searching for RV camping options. Furthermore, the same review mentions a "background check" as part of the requirements, indicating a level of vetting for those wishing to stay at the park. These membership and procedural hurdles distinguish this RV park from standard commercial campgrounds. Additionally, the review notes a "2 weeks only" limitation on the duration of stay, which further restricts the park's suitability for travelers seeking longer-term accommodations. The combination of membership requirements, background checks, and a short stay limit makes this RV park a very specific option within the broader category of "RV parks near me."
The negative review also provides insight into the potential cost, stating "all for around $500." While the duration of this $500 charge is not explicitly stated (it's associated with the "2 weeks only" stay), it suggests a potentially high cost relative to the limited services (no water) and the restrictive conditions (membership, background check, short stay). This pricing information, coupled with the limitations, might deter those who are not Elks members or who are looking for more conventional RV park amenities and longer stays. The reviewer's overall impression is that it is "not a friendly place for an outdoor adventure," primarily due to the restrictive requirements and the perceived rudeness of the person answering the phone.
The contrasting experiences reported in the customer reviews are crucial for understanding the Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park. The positive review, highlighting the friendly and helpful host and the welcoming treatment of returning Elks members, suggests a strong sense of community and hospitality for those within the Elks fraternity. This positive experience, however, seems contingent on being part of the "Elk family." On the other hand, the negative review paints a starkly different picture, emphasizing the unwelcoming nature of the phone interaction, the restrictive membership and background check requirements, the limited stay duration, the lack of water services, and a potentially high cost. This suggests a significant disparity in experience based on whether one is an Elks member and the nature of their interaction with the park's representatives.
Promotional information for the Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park is not explicitly provided in the reviews. Given the membership-based nature of the park, it is likely that any promotional efforts would be directed towards Elks members through their internal communication channels rather than the general public. Individuals who are members of the Elks Lodge and are interested in staying at this RV park should likely contact the provided phone number, (971) 409-5477 or +1 971-409-5477, to inquire about availability, specific requirements for booking, and any relevant information for members. Non-members should be aware of the reported membership prerequisites and restrictions, which may make this RV park an unsuitable option for their needs.
In conclusion, the Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park in Sherwood, Oregon, appears to be an RV camping facility primarily catering to members of the Elks Lodge. While one review highlights the friendly and helpful nature of the host and the welcoming atmosphere for returning members, another review points out significant restrictions including a membership requirement, a background check, a two-week maximum stay, and a lack of water services, potentially at a relatively high cost. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Sherwood area, it is crucial to understand these specific conditions. If you are not an Elks member, this park may not be an option for you. Even for members, the limited services and short stay duration might not meet everyone's needs. Prospective visitors should contact the park directly using the provided phone number to clarify the current requirements, availability, and any other relevant information before planning a stay. The experience at this RV park seems to be heavily influenced by one's affiliation with the Elks organization.

Sherwood, OR Elks Lodge RV Park Reviews
RV Campground host always friendly and helpful. Even though we only get there once a year we are treated like Elk family.
Apr 23, 2024 · Jim CookThe lady on the phone is very rude. She just wanted to scare people away with their membership permit, background check, 2 weeks only and no water services all for around $500 not a friendly place for an outdoor adventure.
Jun 08, 2024 · Stelstry MvAlways like this lodge. However on a friday night one chef waited for over an hour for food. Small menu 5 pr 6 items. Way to long to wait! Get some support for the kitchen and get better ticket numbers. People came in after us and got served before us due to the number system that is used. So unhappy.
Sep 03, 2022 · Richard TellingThey have only members policy! I arrived to the park midnight because had no battery power left in the RV. Explained the situation to the lady who was the host but she said I needed to be a member to park. More than half of the spots were available but they refused to make money just because I’m not a member. Will surely not be a member of such a weak judgmental community!
Mar 25, 2022 · Jay OzRated low because we could not stay there because they cater to Elks Members only…Sad
