Ski Town Village Introduce
For local residents exploring housing options categorized under 'RV parks near me' on various platforms, it's important to distinguish between traditional RV parks catering to short-term recreational vehicles and mobile home parks designed for longer-term or permanent residency. Ski Town Village, located at 2388 CO-135 in Gunnison, Colorado, is identified as a mobile home park rather than a typical RV park. Therefore, while it might appear in some local searches for housing, its features, services, and overall environment cater to a different demographic and need.
Based on recent feedback from residents, it is crucial for prospective local users to be aware of significant concerns raised regarding the conditions and management of Ski Town Village. Multiple reviews paint a concerning picture of the living environment, citing issues such as substantial rent increases without corresponding improvements to the property, recurring infrastructure problems, and a lack of responsiveness from property management.
One resident, who moved into Ski Town Village in late 2019, reports that their rent has more than doubled since then, while observing no discernible improvements or upgrades within the park to justify such an increase. This significant rise in the cost of living without apparent added value is a serious concern for residents and potential future occupants. Transparency and justification for rent adjustments are vital aspects of a positive living experience, and this feedback suggests a potential disconnect in this area at Ski Town Village.
Furthermore, the physical environment of the mobile home park appears to be facing considerable challenges. The same reviewer notes that the road within the park floods every spring and fall, indicating potential drainage issues that could impact accessibility and the overall quality of life for residents during these seasons. Consistent flooding can lead to property damage, inconvenience, and safety concerns, highlighting a need for infrastructure improvements.
Perhaps the most alarming concern raised in the reviews pertains to essential utilities and the management's response to critical issues. One resident recounts experiencing a total power outage at their home that lasted for twelve hours without being addressed by the property owners. Lack of timely response to such fundamental service disruptions, especially in a region known for its severe winter weather, raises serious questions about the management's commitment to the well-being and safety of its residents.
Another detailed review echoes these concerns and provides further insight into the challenges faced by residents. This feedback highlights the existence of homes within the park without adequate electrical power (specifically mentioning the lack of 220-watt service), rendering residents unable to use essential appliances like heaters and dryers. The attempts by residents to communicate with the landlord to authorize necessary repairs by the city, described as an "outside problem," were reportedly met with a lack of response. This breakdown in communication and apparent inaction on critical infrastructure issues can have severe consequences for the comfort and safety of the residents, particularly during the cold winter months in Gunnison.
Beyond individual utility issues, the overall maintenance and upkeep of the mobile home park are also areas of concern, according to resident feedback. The driveways are described as mostly dirt and uneven, with numerous holes, potentially causing inconvenience and damage to vehicles. The presence of trees that reportedly need trimming suggests a lack of attention to basic landscaping and safety. The absence of streetlights is another significant issue, potentially impacting visibility and security within the community, especially during the long winter nights.
One particularly poignant aspect of the negative feedback is the assertion that living conditions at Ski Town Village are "inhumane," especially considering the extremely cold winters in Gunnison. The reviewer expresses deep concern for families and pets living in homes without adequate heating due to the unresolved electrical issues. This paints a distressing picture of the living conditions and underscores the urgency of addressing the infrastructure problems within the park.
The perspective offered by one reviewer suggests a potential underlying issue with the new administration's approach to the residents. The reviewer alleges that there may have been prior attempts to displace residents and that the current neglect of their needs could be a tactic to encourage them to leave voluntarily. While this is an interpretation, it highlights a significant level of distrust and dissatisfaction among at least some of the residents regarding the management's intentions and actions.
The concluding statement in one of the reviews is a direct accusation that the people in charge "don't care about the needs and comfort of their renters." This strong condemnation, coupled with the detailed accounts of unresolved issues and lack of communication, serves as a serious warning for any local individuals or families considering Ski Town Village as a potential long-term housing option.
Given the consistent and serious nature of the negative feedback available online, it is imperative for local users searching for 'RV parks near me' or considering mobile home living in Gunnison to exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence regarding Ski Town Village. While the basic contact information, including the phone number ((970) 343-7770 or +1 970-343-7770) and address (2388 CO-135, Gunnison, CO 81230, USA), is available, the experiences shared by current residents paint a concerning picture of the living conditions and management responsiveness.
It is important to reiterate that this introduction is based solely on the publicly available reviews and aims to provide an objective summary of the information found online. No additional positive information or counter-arguments were present in the provided data. Therefore, prospective residents should consider these serious concerns and seek further information and potentially visit the property and speak with current residents before making any decisions about residing at Ski Town Village. The significant issues raised regarding rent increases, infrastructure problems (such as flooding and electrical outages), lack of maintenance, and poor communication with management warrant careful consideration and investigation.
For local users specifically searching for 'RV parks near me' for recreational purposes or short-term stays, Ski Town Village, being a mobile home park, is likely not the appropriate option. Traditional RV parks typically offer amenities and services tailored to temporary visitors, such as hookups, dump stations, and recreational facilities, which may not be the primary focus of a mobile home park catering to long-term residents. Therefore, clarifying the type of accommodation and the specific needs of the user is essential when utilizing online search platforms.

Ski Town Village Reviews
I hate it here. I moved into the trailer park in late 2019 and since then the rent has more than doubled, and absolutely nothing has happened within the trailer park to justify the increase in the cost to live here. The road floods every spring and fall. I am currently 12 hours into a total power outage at my house and it has not been addressed by the property owners. The intentional neglect of this park by the management is absurd. Ski town village is a massive ripoff.
Feb 24, 2024 · logan stewartOne of of the worst places to live in. There are houses without a 220 watt electrical power and are unable to fix their houses. The communication is poor, a lot of them tried to call landlord to get their authorization so the city can fix that problem because it’s an outside problem, but they never respond. They need this fixed to use the heater and dryer but can’t do anything thanks to them. Not only that but the neighborhood needs maintenance. The driveways are mostly dirt and uneven with lots of holes. There are a lot of trees that need to be cut ,there are no street lights, and overall the neighborhood needs a lot of improvements. It’s inhumane to live there, they are living in a town that gets extremely cold in the winter and these people with their families and pets have to live in these homes without any heat. The way I see it is that this new administration has tried to take these people out of their homes before and weren’t able to, so they are ignoring their needs to see if they leave on their own.It is clear to me that these people don't care about the needs and comfort of their renters. That is why I’m sharing this to everyone in hopes others will see this and hopefully it’ll land on the right person to help these people out.
