Pleasant Valley Introduce
For local residents and travelers exploring 'RV parks near me' along US-50 in western Colorado, Pleasant Valley, located at 84100 US-50 in Cimarron, presents a roadside stop offering both lodging and dining. Situated in a "nice location," according to one reviewer, Pleasant Valley appears to cater to those passing through or seeking a base to explore the surrounding area. However, recent feedback highlights a mix of positive and negative experiences, particularly concerning the condition and maintenance of the accommodations.
One detailed review expresses significant concerns regarding the upkeep of at least one of the cabins at Pleasant Valley. The guest reported several issues, including a porch with multiple boards needing replacement, creating a potential safety hazard. Inside the cabin, the toilet was described as wobbly, and the fan was noted to be "filthy." Furthermore, the presence of carpenter ants actively infesting the east side of the cabin raises concerns about structural integrity and pest control. The reviewer also experienced a lack of essential utilities on their departure day, with no water followed by a power outage. Adding to the frustration, they mentioned "several notes on the wall about what was and what wasn’t expected," which could suggest unclear or restrictive policies. Finally, despite the website stating the store was open from 8 AM to 8 PM, the guest reported waiting an hour past the opening time to pay for their cabin and noted that the store was consistently not open until the advertised closing time. The furniture in the cabin was also described as needing a good cleaning. This comprehensive negative review paints a picture of accommodations in need of significant repair, upgrading, and improved cleanliness.
In contrast, another reviewer stumbled upon Pleasant Valley during a motorcycle trip and had a much more positive experience, albeit with a different focus. This guest was drawn in by what they described as the "best Buffalo burgers we’ve ever had." Impressed by the food and the property itself, they decided to stay overnight and reported having "one of the best nights of sleep I’ve ever had camping." They also specifically mentioned the owner, Tito, as being "so nice." This reviewer concluded that Pleasant Valley is "definitely worth the stop," even if just for the "fresh home made pie," indicating that the food and hospitality were significant highlights of their visit.
Combining these two contrasting reviews provides a somewhat mixed picture of Pleasant Valley. The location itself seems to be appealing, and the food, particularly the Buffalo burgers and homemade pie, appears to be a strong positive aspect. The hospitality of at least one staff member, Tito, also receives commendation. However, the significant maintenance and cleanliness issues reported in one of the cabin stays are serious concerns that potential guests should be aware of.
In terms of the environment, the positive mention of the "property is incredible" by the motorcycle traveler suggests that the natural setting or overall ambiance of Pleasant Valley has its merits. However, the lack of specific details about the surroundings makes it difficult to provide a comprehensive description. It is located along US-50 near Cimarron, which is situated in a scenic part of western Colorado, known for its mountains and outdoor recreational opportunities. The "nice location" mentioned in the negative review likely refers to this general geographical area.
Regarding services, Pleasant Valley offers cabin rentals, as evidenced by both reviews. The presence of a store is also mentioned, although its operating hours appear to be inconsistent with the website information, according to one guest. The fact that one reviewer had a positive "camping" experience might suggest that RV sites or tent camping areas are also available, though this is not explicitly stated. The availability of food, specifically Buffalo burgers and homemade pie, is a notable service that seems to be a significant draw for some visitors.
The features of Pleasant Valley that can be gleaned from the reviews include its location along a major highway (US-50), its proximity to the natural attractions of the Cimarron area, the availability of cabin accommodations, and a store that sells food, including noteworthy Buffalo burgers and homemade pie. The potential for RV or tent camping is also hinted at but not confirmed. The hospitality of at least one staff member is a positive feature mentioned by one reviewer, while the poor maintenance and cleanliness of at least one cabin are significant negative features highlighted by another.
Currently, no specific promotional information is available based on the provided reviews. There are no mentions of discounts, special rates, or packages. The positive aspects highlighted are the food and the kindness of a staff member, which could be considered implicit reasons to stop at Pleasant Valley, particularly for those traveling through and looking for a meal.
For local users searching for 'RV parks near me' in the Cimarron area, Pleasant Valley might present itself as an option. However, the stark contrast in the recent reviews necessitates caution. While the location may be appealing and the food enjoyable, the reported issues with cabin maintenance, cleanliness, and utility reliability cannot be ignored. Potential guests should weigh the positive aspects (location, food, some staff hospitality) against the negative feedback regarding the condition of the accommodations.
Before making a decision to stay at Pleasant Valley, it would be prudent for local users to seek more recent reviews or contact the establishment directly at (970) 249-8330 or +1 970-249-8330 to inquire about the current condition of the cabins and the reliability of their services. Asking specific questions about recent upgrades or repairs, store hours, and utility maintenance would be advisable. Given the discrepancy in the provided feedback, gathering additional information is crucial to forming an informed opinion.
In conclusion, Pleasant Valley near Cimarron, Colorado, appears to be a roadside stop with a potentially appealing location and noteworthy food offerings. However, recent customer feedback reveals significant concerns about the maintenance and cleanliness of at least one of the cabins, as well as issues with utility reliability and store hours. While one traveler had a positive experience focused on the food and hospitality, another reported multiple problems with their accommodation. Local users searching for 'RV parks near me' in this area should be aware of these contrasting experiences and are strongly encouraged to seek more up-to-date information before considering a stay at Pleasant Valley.

Pleasant Valley Reviews
Nice location. but…. Needs repairs and upgrading. Porch has several boards that need replaced. Felt as if I might fall through. The toilet rocks when you get up. The fan was filthy. Carpenter ants were eating the place up on the East side of the cabin. On our last day there we got up to leave and we had no water, a short time later the electricity went out.. several notes on the wall about what was and what wasn’t expected. Web site states open from 8AM- 8PM. We waited on hour for the store to open to pay for our cabin and not once were they open till 8 PM. Furniture could use a good cleaning.
Aug 14, 2024 · Debra ArnoldWe stumbled on this place on a motorcycle trip and after having the best Buffalo burgers we’ve ever had, we decided to just stay for the night. This property is incredible and Tito was so nice! I had one of the best nights of sleep I’ve ever had camping. Definitely worth the stop, even if it’s just for the fresh home made pie.
Jul 25, 2024 · Sarah HosterWe stopped in for a break while riding the Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route. It was raining hard, and they welcomed us warmly. The pies, burger, and service were all great. We'll make it a scheduled stop on our next trip through.
Sep 18, 2024 · Jay WilsonWe had a great stay at Pleasant Valley. We came in sore, hungry, and exhausted from all of our hiking and driving in the days before so it was a very welcomed experience to rent a cabin and have a home cooked meal. The owners were very kind, accommodating, and friendly. They cooked us a delicious burger and barbecue sandwich. The cabin was quite nice. The stand up shower had good temperature and pressure. The bed was quite comfortable. I thought the price was quite good when you compare it to similar places and what they cost nowadays.I liked it enough that I booked a cabin there again for when I am going back to the area in a month. I definitely recommend this place!
