When considering an RV park or lodging facility, it's essential to gather insights from various sources to form a comprehensive understanding. We have reviewed some recent feedback from guests of Cedar Creek Lodging & RV Park to provide you with an objective overview of their experiences. Please note that these reviews reflect individual stays and perspectives, and overall experiences may vary.
One long-term guest who stayed at the RV park for three winters shared a significant shift in their perception of the facility. Initially, they appreciated the sense of community and safety, along with the kindness and accommodation of the staff. This positive experience fostered a feeling of belonging. However, their opinion changed following the acquisition of the park by venture capitalists under the name of 4 Points funding. According to this reviewer, the sense of community and kindness diminished considerably after the change in ownership. They noted a decline in the maintenance of common areas, specifically mentioning the bathrooms, and reported a significant increase in prices. This former guest expressed disappointment, stating that the focus seemed to have shifted towards profit generation rather than prioritizing guests and employees, leading them to conclude that they would not return.
In contrast, a guest who stayed for two nights reported a "top notch" experience. This visitor had initially rented a cabin but was upgraded to a tiny home with a private bathroom due to a malfunctioning refrigerator in the cabin. They specifically praised the "great" customer service, the "awesome" location, and the beauty of the cabins. Based on their experience, they offered a high recommendation of 10/10.
These two reviews present contrasting viewpoints, potentially reflecting changes in management or varying experiences depending on the type of accommodation (RV site versus lodging) and the timing of the stay. The positive review highlights aspects such as good customer service, a favorable location, and well-maintained lodging options. The upgrade to a tiny home due to an issue with the original booking also suggests a willingness to accommodate guests and resolve problems.
On the other hand, the negative review raises concerns about the impact of new ownership on the community atmosphere, maintenance standards, and pricing. The mention of deteriorating common areas and a perceived shift in focus towards profit could be important factors for potential long-term RV guests to consider. The loss of a previously valued sense of community might also be a significant drawback for those seeking a more social or supportive environment during their stay.
Given these varying accounts, it is advisable for individuals considering Cedar Creek Lodging & RV Park, whether for RV stays or lodging, to seek more current information. This could involve contacting the park directly to inquire about their current services, amenities, and management philosophy. Asking about the maintenance schedule for common areas, the availability and condition of RV sites and lodging options (cabins and tiny homes), and the current pricing structure would be beneficial.
While the positive review mentions the location being "awesome," specific details about the surrounding environment are not provided in the given text. Montrose, Colorado, is known for its proximity to outdoor recreational opportunities, including the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and the Uncompahgre National Forest. Potential guests might want to inquire about the park's proximity to these attractions and other local points of interest.
Similarly, detailed information about the services and features offered at Cedar Creek Lodging & RV Park is limited in the provided reviews. Typically, RV parks offer essential amenities such as water, electric, and sewer hookups for RV sites. Lodging options like cabins and tiny homes usually include beds, and the positive review mentioned a tiny home with its own bathroom, suggesting varying levels of amenities depending on the accommodation type. It would be helpful to inquire about additional services such as Wi-Fi access, laundry facilities, recreational areas, or any other conveniences offered to guests.
Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. To learn about any current specials, discounts for extended stays, or seasonal offers, it is recommended to contact Cedar Creek Lodging & RV Park directly via phone or their website (if available). Understanding the pricing structure for both RV sites and lodging options, as well as any applicable fees, will help potential guests in their decision-making process.
In conclusion, Cedar Creek Lodging & RV Park in Montrose, Colorado, offers both RV sites and lodging accommodations, including cabins and tiny homes. Recent guest experiences vary, with one long-term RV guest reporting a decline in community and maintenance following a change in ownership, while a short-term lodging guest praised the customer service, location, and the quality of the upgraded tiny home. Potential guests should contact the park directly to obtain current information about the environment, specific services, features, and any promotional offers to determine if it meets their needs and expectations when searching for "RV parks near me" or lodging in the Montrose area.

Cedar Creek Lodging & RV Park Reviews
I have stayed three winters at the RV park. At first I loved it here because it felt like it had a sense of community and was really safe. The staff we're kind and accommodating, and there was a sense of community. Venture capitalists under the name of 4 Points funding has taken it over and any sense of community or kindness is gone. Near the end I was working part-time as housekeeping, and when the switch happened everything fell apart. The common areas in bathrooms have really taken a hit, and they are charging a lot more than ever before. They are about making money, not about guests or employees. It's incredibly disappointing because I really did love this place. I will never be going back again.
Apr 23, 2025 · Nan AndersonWe stayed here for two nights and our experience was top notch. I rented the cabin but since the fridge was not working they upgraded us to a tiny home with its own bathroom. The customer service was great, the location is awesome and the cabins are beautiful. 10/10 recommend!
Dec 29, 2024 · Alex AlemanMy wife and I stayed in one of the small vintage campers while visiting the Black Canyon of the Gunnison N.P. We enjoyed the stay very much. The camper was just as advertised, nicely decorated and very clean. The rest of the facility was obviously well cared for. The restrooms, showers and laundry were spotless. The only thing I found odd was the office. We never saw the office open. We did meet the camp hosts when they were out working on the property. They were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.
Jun 14, 2024 · Randy & Polly CarneyThis is a hidden gem. We stayed in a RV site and arrived after hours. The confirmation email had our site number and told us to just pull in. The site was well marked, easy to find and level. There was wood in the fire ring waiting for us (we didn’t use). The bathrooms are individual rooms with its own shower and were very clean and close to any RV site. The views from the park are just as scenic as you would find in a national park.
Sep 10, 2024 · Tom OKeefeStayed in Yurt 1. Really enjoyed the set up and shared bathroom was clean. Bed was very comfortable! My only issue with this place was the communication from management/staff. Called and sent emails with no reply. Luckily they did get back to us when we called the emergency line. (After digging into my inbox, it looks like none of my emails went through. I took the email straight from their website so that is odd.)As someone who works in hospitality with a very small staff myself, very disappointed with the gross lack of communication.
