Skyline Introduce
For those seeking "RV parks near me" in Fort Collins, Colorado, Skyline, located at 2211 W Mulberry St, Fort Collins, CO 80521, USA, is a mobile home park that warrants consideration. With a contact number available at (970) 482-4231 or +1 970-482-4231, prospective residents and visitors can inquire about the park's current offerings. However, the available customer reviews present a mixed picture, highlighting both potential drawbacks related to management changes and positive aspects concerning the community and environment.
Fort Collins, a city known for its blend of outdoor recreation and urban amenities, is a popular location for both long-term residents and travelers. When searching for "RV parks near me" in this area, factors such as management stability, amenities, community atmosphere, and cost are typically key considerations. The reviews for Skyline offer insights into these aspects, though they present contrasting experiences.
One detailed review from a former long-term resident who lived at Skyline since 2016 expresses significant concerns regarding the management following its acquisition by SunCommunities, a large international corporation. The reviewer initially had a positive impression of the park, describing it as "nice, quiet, nice pool." However, their experience under the new ownership led to a negative assessment. Key issues raised include consistent increases in the monthly lot rent fee, the addition of more rules, and a perceived reduction in the value for the high lot rent. Notably, the reviewer mentions being charged monthly for indoor cats, despite them not using any communal facilities. Furthermore, water is no longer included in the lot rent, and residents are expected to maintain their lawns and clear snow without any financial assistance for water usage, even within a community described as "55 and older."
A significant point of concern highlighted in this review is the instability of the park management. The reviewer recounts the frequent turnover of park managers, which directly impacted their ability to sell their home within the park. The lack of a consistent manager for an extended period resulted in a loss of potential sale opportunities and a frustrating experience with the SunCommunities headquarters, which allegedly ignored their communications. The reviewer's overall sentiment upon leaving was one of liberation from what they perceived as negative management practices.
Adding to the management concerns, the review mentions issues with the pool maintenance following the departure of the previous maintenance person. The replacement's lack of experience led to chemical imbalances, resulting in the pool being closed for safety reasons. This raises questions about the reliability of amenities under the current management.
In contrast, another reviewer offers a more positive perspective, describing the people as "very friendly and helpful" and the neighborhood as "quiet" with regular activities. This reviewer also appreciates the on-site swimming pool and the snow plowing services that clear the road in front of driveways. They mention a "no street parking after 10 p.m. for security reasons" rule, which they perceive positively, contributing to a "quiet, calm neighborhood" where they feel safe and happy.
This stark contrast in reviews suggests that while there may be positive aspects to the Skyline community, particularly concerning the residents and the physical environment (quiet neighborhood, pool, snow plowing), there are significant concerns regarding the management policies and practices under SunCommunities ownership. These concerns include rising costs, added rules, potential reduction in services, and instability in park management.
For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" for a short-term stay, the information about friendly residents and a quiet environment might be appealing. However, the potential issues with pool maintenance and the overall management approach could be deterrents. It would be crucial for RV travelers to inquire specifically about the amenities available to short-term guests, the costs involved (including utilities), and the park's rules and regulations for RV stays.
For those considering a longer-term living situation and viewing mobile home parks as a potential type of "RV park near me" (for living in their RV), the concerns about rising lot rent, additional fees (like water and potential pet fees), strict rules, and management instability are significant factors to weigh. While a friendly community is a definite plus, the potential for increasing costs and a lack of responsiveness from the management could outweigh this benefit for many.
Given the information available, it is difficult to offer any promotional information for Skyline without also acknowledging the serious concerns raised by at least one long-term resident. Objectively, Skyline appears to be a community with friendly residents and a generally quiet atmosphere, located in a desirable area of Fort Collins. However, potential residents and visitors should be aware of the reported issues related to the management under SunCommunities, including rising costs, added rules, potential instability, and concerns about amenity maintenance.
Therefore, anyone considering Skyline as one of their "RV parks near me" or as a potential long-term living option should conduct thorough due diligence. This would involve contacting the park directly at (970) 482-4231 or +1 970-482-4231 to inquire about current rates, rules, amenities available to RV guests (if applicable), and management policies. It would also be wise to seek out more recent reviews from a variety of sources to get a broader understanding of the current conditions within the park. While the friendly residents and quiet environment are positive aspects, the potential management issues and rising costs are significant factors that should not be overlooked.

Skyline Reviews
When I first bought my home there the fall of 2016, I would've said what others said. Nice, quiet, nice pool. However, they have serious management issues. No longer owned by a nice person, it is now owned by SunCommunities and they are a huge Int'l corporation who could care less about the residents. They keep raising the monthly lot rent fee, keep adding more "rules", and keep taking away the reasons for high lot rent, and even charged me monthly for my 2 cats, even though they're indoor cats living in the home I owned, not using the dog park or anything outside MY home. They no longer include water and you pay your own water; they want your lawn watered regularly by you, without any help on the cost of water for that, they want your leaves raked, your sidewalks and driveway shoveled of snow (and this is a 55 and older community), and the worst part is they can't keep a manager. I had enough of the place and the raising of the lot rent and decided to sell. I went to the manager to broker my house sale and she quit (happens frequently there) right after I signed the contract. After the previous manager quit after 2 months to work nearby at another place similar, it took SunCommunities 3 months to find a replacement manager for this one who quit, and for 3 months there was nobody handling the sale of my home and I lost out on those 3 months of possibly selling it. After numerous calls and emails to the SunCommunities headquarters, they wouldn't even reply or respond. I was totally ignored, with them as my broker. It doesn't get much worse than that. Now even the pool can't be trusted. The previous maintenance person quit, and the replacement had never been around a pool or trained, so he messed up on the chemicals and they had to close the pool with a sign "closed for safety reasons". Thank God I hired a new real estate agent, sold my place and I'm free. That truly is how it feels to get away from SunCommunities. Free!!!!
Sep 04, 2018 · Louise BrownePeople are very friendly and helpful. It is a quiet neighborhood with activities to participate in all the time. There is a swimming pool onsite, and they plow the road right in front of our driveways to make it easier to get out of the park. There is no street parking after 10 p.m. for security reasons. It's a quiet, calm neighborhood and I don't ever feel nervous or worry about my safety. I love it here!
Feb 28, 2018 · Amy PereaTHEY INCREASED THE LOT RENT IN MAY, DURING A PANDEMIC! They say they increase the lot rent according to the local market value. I wonder if they will lower the lot rent this year since the market is heading downwards? When they bought the park they took away free water. The people that can't afford the extra expense (a lot of people living on a fixed income here), don't water. There are a lot of dry, pitiful yards. They also added a pet fee—$10 per cat or dog. They can't explain to me why I get charged when my cats never touch their property. This is the most expensive park in Norther Colorado. It is quiet, has beautiful trees and the people that live are wonderful. It is the best park in town, just do not expect financial compassion.
Jul 02, 2020 · Deanna EstesStaff is nice when it's convenient and you don't need anything, amenities stated are not always available and overpriced for what you receive.Rent goes up every year sometimes you are notified sometimes not.The huge fantastic trees are getting cut down more and more, gets a little less nice everytime. Most of the residents are great.
Nov 16, 2018 · BRENDA MCGOVERNGreat retirement place. Friendly place to be with everyone being extremely nice. Definitely if you have a problem in the park call ABA mobile home parts and service. He is friendly and does the job right the first time.
