Sleepy Holler Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of Cordova, Alabama, Sleepy Holler, located at 174 Sleepy Holler, Cordova, AL 35550, USA, presents itself as a potentially suitable option. While specific details about the park's extensive amenities and environment are somewhat limited, the available customer reviews offer insights into its character and functionality for RV travelers. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on this feedback.
One of the initial pieces of feedback comes from an individual who identifies Sleepy Holler as their "home church." This reviewer highlights the welcoming and community-oriented aspect of the location, mentioning their involvement in teaching Sunday School and expressing love for their "small church family." They also note the church's efforts in organizing festivals and celebrations for the church family, children, and the wider community, inviting others to visit. While this review primarily focuses on the church aspect of Sleepy Holler, it indirectly suggests a potentially friendly and community-focused atmosphere within the broader location, which might extend to RV guests.
From an RV traveler's perspective, another review offers a more direct assessment of the campground facilities. This guest describes Sleepy Holler as an "older campground" with "gravel road and undulating sites." This indicates that the infrastructure may be somewhat dated and that RVers should be prepared for uneven terrain when setting up their rigs. However, the reviewer also notes that the "power and water worked fine," which are essential functional requirements for a comfortable RV stay. The concise summary of "Functional. Quiet" encapsulates the basic yet appreciated qualities of Sleepy Holler for this particular visitor.
A significant point raised by the RV traveler is the limited availability of alternative campgrounds in the area, stating, "Any alternative was 20 some miles away." This suggests that Sleepy Holler might be a conveniently located option when other choices are not readily accessible. The reviewer concludes with a positive note, "We were happy we stayed," indicating that despite the older infrastructure and uneven sites, the overall experience was satisfactory, likely due to the functional utilities and the quiet environment.
Based on these limited reviews, we can infer some aspects of the environment, services, and features of Sleepy Holler, keeping in mind that detailed information is lacking:
Environment: The description of "undulating sites" and a "gravel road" suggests a more rustic and perhaps less manicured environment compared to newer, more modern RV parks. The presence of a church and community events hints at a potentially welcoming and community-oriented atmosphere. The reviewer's comment about it being "quiet" indicates a peaceful setting, which can be a significant draw for those seeking a relaxing getaway.
Services: The review explicitly mentions that "power and water worked fine," indicating that these essential utility hookups are available and functional for RVs. There is no information provided about sewage hookups (full hookups), restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, Wi-Fi, or other common amenities found in RV parks. Potential guests should inquire directly about the availability of these services based on their needs.
Features: The presence of a church that hosts Sunday School and community events is a unique feature of Sleepy Holler. For some travelers, this could be a welcoming aspect, offering opportunities for local interaction and perhaps even spiritual engagement. The "undulating sites" might present a challenge for leveling RVs, and the "gravel road" could imply a more natural or less developed infrastructure. The quietness of the campground is a notable feature that appeals to those seeking a peaceful stay.
Promotional Information: No specific promotional information, such as discounts, special rates for longer stays, or unique offerings, is available in the provided text. Individuals interested in staying at Sleepy Holler should contact them directly at phone (205) 483-7947 or mobile phone +1 205-483-7947 to inquire about their rates, availability, and any current promotions.
Given the limited information, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of Sleepy Holler as one of the "RV parks near me." However, the available feedback suggests a functional and quiet campground with potentially uneven sites and gravel roads. The presence of a welcoming church community on-site is a unique aspect. For RVers prioritizing peace and essential utilities in an area with limited alternatives, Sleepy Holler appears to be a viable option, as indicated by the satisfied traveler.
To gain a more complete understanding of what Sleepy Holler offers, potential guests should consider contacting the park directly with specific questions about their RV accommodations, hookup types, on-site amenities (restrooms, showers, laundry, etc.), and any specific considerations for the older infrastructure and undulating sites. Inquiring about rates and availability, especially during peak seasons, is also recommended.
In conclusion, Sleepy Holler near Cordova, Alabama, seems to be an older, quiet, and functional campground that provides essential power and water hookups for RVs. Its location in an area with limited alternatives appears to be a benefit for some travelers. The presence of a welcoming church community adds a unique dimension to the location. However, the undulating sites and gravel roads suggest a less modern infrastructure. For those seeking a basic, peaceful stopover in the Cordova area, Sleepy Holler warrants further inquiry.

This is my home church! I teach Sunday School here! My small church family & I love it! Not many people, especially with children, know of this church, so I’d love to get the word out about it! The past 2 years, I’ve taught Sunday School & the church has been doing festivals, celebrations, etc. for the church family, children, & anyone who wants to attend! Come visit us!

Aug 07, 2022 · Tina LunaIf I could give this place less than a zero I would. We pulled in late. Since I was visiting relatives I paid for 4 days ($160 cash). We set up in a rainstorm.... Electricity did not work. Oh well we will fix it in the morning. Found out in the morning the electricity did not work at all. The bathrooms did not work and the roads to the upper part of the campground were steep and had washouts in them. No way I would take my 34' motorhome up or down those roads. I asked for my money back and the woman said she did not have a key to the lock box. I was willing to pay for the night but to not refund any of the $160 was unbelievable. She agreed to send half back but did show me NO REFUNDS on the small check in card. DO NOT GO HERE.....
May 28, 2022 · Irish Hills ResortsIt's not a bad place to live. It's also reasonably priced too. It needs the road redone all the way through. They need to hire a regular maintenance man or men full-time for up keep of place. Campers are nice, but they all need work.
