Sneads Ferry RV Introduce
For local users exploring "RV Parks Near Me" in the Sneads Ferry, North Carolina area, Sneads Ferry RV, located at 933 Old Folkstone Rd, Sneads Ferry, NC 28460, USA, presents itself as a quiet RV community with a significant number of full-time residents. They can be contacted at (910) 408-8802 or via their mobile number, +1 910-408-8802. Based on recent customer feedback, this park offers a specific type of RV living experience that may appeal to certain individuals and for particular durations of stay.
One of the key features highlighted in the reviews is the park's location. Sneads Ferry RV is situated approximately a 5-minute drive from the beach on North Topsail Island. This proximity to the coast is a significant advantage for those who enjoy beach activities and the coastal environment. Local users who appreciate easy access to North Topsail Beach might find this location particularly appealing for weekend getaways or longer stays.
It is important to note that Sneads Ferry RV is described as "an actual RV Community where the majority of persons live full time." This characteristic shapes the overall environment of the park. Visitors can expect a community atmosphere where residents have established a longer-term presence. The reviews suggest that the people within this community are generally "friendly, laid back, and welcoming," which can contribute to a positive social experience for both short-term and long-term guests.
In terms of practical amenities at the individual sites, Sneads Ferry RV offers full 30/50 amp electrical hookups, as well as water and sewer connections at each site. These are essential utilities for RV living, providing the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable stay. One reviewer found the price for a week to be "fair and reasonable" at the time of their visit, indicating that the cost is competitive for the services offered.
However, it is crucial for potential visitors to be aware that Sneads Ferry RV does not offer certain common amenities often found in other RV parks. Specifically, the reviews mention the absence of a pool, bathhouse, and laundry facilities on-site. For travelers with self-contained RV units, this may not be a significant issue. The reviews point out that a local Laundromat is conveniently located just a 2-minute drive away, providing an alternative for laundry needs. This lack of on-site amenities might make the park less suitable for those who rely on these conveniences or are traveling in less self-sufficient RVs.
One reviewer concluded that their stay was "great" and suggested that the park is "likely better for long term." This aligns with the description of it being an RV community with a majority of full-time residents. Short-term visitors seeking a quiet base near the beach with full hookups might still find it suitable, provided they are aware of the limited on-site amenities.
Another visitor who stayed for a few days offered a more nuanced perspective. They found the park "interesting" for being a long-term community and noted that the quiet hours were generally respected. However, they highlighted a significant environmental factor: the presence of a rooster and chickens wandering around the park. This reviewer specifically mentioned being woken up early (around 4:30 am) by the rooster's crowing, which had been an ongoing issue for a few months. They also reported an encounter with a chicken under their car, indicating that these animals freely roam the park.
This presence of free-ranging poultry could be a unique characteristic of Sneads Ferry RV. For some, it might add a touch of rural charm, while for others, particularly those sensitive to early morning noise or concerned about interacting with the animals, it could be a drawback. It's an important factor for potential visitors to consider, especially given the detailed account of the early morning noise.
Furthermore, the same reviewer mentioned observing "a lot of ad hoc buildings" within the park. They speculated that these structures might pose challenges for maneuvering larger RVs in and out of the sites without potentially interfering with neighbors' belongings. This observation suggests that the layout and the degree of permanent or semi-permanent structures on individual lots might be something to consider for those with larger rigs or those who value unobstructed access.
The reviewer concluded that, without the rooster issue, the park might be "fine for what it is," implying that the fundamental aspects of a quiet community with hookups are present. However, the persistent early morning noise from the rooster(s) significantly detracted from their experience.
In summary, Sneads Ferry RV offers a quiet, long-term RV community environment located conveniently close to North Topsail Beach. It provides full 30/50 amp hookups, water, and sewer at each site, and the weekly price was considered reasonable by one visitor. The community is described as friendly and laid back. However, potential visitors should be aware that the park lacks on-site amenities such as a pool, bathhouse, and laundry facilities (though a Laundromat is nearby). Additionally, the presence of free-roaming roosters and chickens, with reported early morning noise, and the existence of ad hoc buildings on some sites are factors to consider. Sneads Ferry RV might be particularly well-suited for those seeking a long-term community atmosphere near the beach and who are self-sufficient in their RVs, but those sensitive to noise or concerned about park aesthetics and maneuverability should weigh the reported observations carefully. May 28, 2024 · Blake FeaginI came here to spend a few days with a friend and for being a long term park, it's interesting. The quiet hours are for the most park respected... except for the rooster and chickens wandering around. 4:30 am the rooster starts. Maybe there are 2? Holy crap. Asked how long this has been a thing, he said a few months. Went to my car, and a chicken was under it. Not a fan. There are a lot of ad hoc buildings, too. I can only imagine they make it hard for people that have to enter or leave to do so without a neighbor tearing things down.Maybe without the rooster(s) it would be fine for what it is, but 4:30? Come on.
Nov 16, 2024 · Kimberly SkyePark is very well kept, pricing is reasonable. Internet is wonderful. We have starlink and with the wonderful amout of trees they will not let the starlink system get good service. So I am glad of the internet provider that is in the park. Great speeds/costomer service. Not like the big compines that want to keep going up on the cost year after year. So if you want to be close to the beach, close to stores, around great people and mean-while stay connected to the world & be under great trees to keep you out of the hot sun of North Carolina . This is the place to park your RV.
Oct 19, 2024 · Wild RadioPark is good, pricing is reasonable. Internet is god awful. Evidently, spectrum is unable to run lines to the park so you will be stuck with a slow and overpriced 3rd party service provider, I’m paying their provider over $100 for 125mbps, even though I barely get 50% of that, meanwhile spectrum is offering up to 1000mbps for not even $100. The initial cost for starlink is high but it’s your best bet if you want to stay/live here and have halfway decent internet. I would have given a 5 star review but I can’t look past the internet, it is very frustrating and, for me, overshadows many of the aspects I truly enjoy about this park.
Oct 02, 2024 · Ryan BehrentSneads Ferry Rv is a very quiet, well maintained RV parked tucked away in the woods. Walking distance to stores and restaurants, 10 minutes from the beach. Great owners who care about the quality of your stay. Highly recommended short or long term destination.
