Located at 250 Winston Section Rd, Winston, OR 97496, USA, this RV park offers a unique blend of natural beauty and a strong sense of community, making it an appealing option for both those seeking a long-term residence and travelers looking for a peaceful short-term stay. You can reach them at (541) 430-0260 or +1 541-430-0260 for inquiries and reservations.
A Riverside Setting with Natural Charm
South Fork RV Park boasts a picturesque environment, with its prime location directly on the South Fork River. Residents and guests can enjoy the soothing sounds of the flowing water and the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The park has seen recent enhancements aimed at adding to its charm and character, including a welcoming main gate entrance and a rock garden with a water feature near the office, creating a pleasant first impression upon arrival. The addition of beautiful plants and a seating area in the rock garden provides a relaxing space for tenants and their guests to enjoy.
Focus on Community and Comfort
The current camp hosts, who moved into the park in 2021 and took on their role in September 2023, have actively worked to foster a strong sense of community and enhance the comfort of the park. They have introduced several improvements, such as stringed solar lights to create a warm ambiance, revamped the flower garden area, and added seating in various locations for residents and guests to enjoy the outdoors. A notable addition is a bench in the new dog park, allowing elderly tenants and guests to relax while their dogs exercise. Seating has also been added in the garden area, providing a view of the river for those who may have difficulty accessing the riverbank directly.
At the river itself, additional seating has been placed to allow tenants and their guests to sit and observe the river and its wildlife up close. This thoughtful addition enhances the experience of living alongside the river, making it easier to appreciate the natural surroundings.
Amenities for a Comfortable Stay
While South Fork RV Park does not currently offer showers or laundry facilities, it does provide very nice and clean bathroom facilities for the convenience of tenants and their guests. It's important to note that these facilities have been in place even before the current camp hosts took on their roles. The park also no longer offers cable television, a decision made by the resort owner, and Wi-Fi is not available at this location. However, the park compensates with other appealing amenities, particularly those related to its riverside location.
Being situated on the South Fork River opens up opportunities for various recreational activities. Residents and guests can enjoy fishing directly from the riverbanks, as well as kayaking and swimming in the river. Bonfires are also permitted down by the river, providing a wonderful way to socialize and enjoy the evenings in a natural setting.
Commitment to Safety and Maintenance
The resort owner is actively involved in maintaining a clean and safe environment at South Fork RV Park. This includes the important task of trimming and, in some cases, removing trees that are deemed hazardous. This proactive approach to safety is highlighted by a recent storm where a falling tree caused minimal damage, underscoring the importance of managing potentially hazardous trees. While some residents who were asked to vacate due to tree removal expressed concerns about being displaced, the management's focus is on ensuring the overall safety and well-being of all residents.
A Welcoming Community
Despite not having all the "fancier" amenities of some other RV parks, South Fork RV Park prides itself on being a clean, well-maintained, and quiet place to live. The current tenants are described as friendly and neighborly, fostering a strong sense of community within the park. The camp hosts emphasize the positive atmosphere and the genuine connection among the residents, making it a welcoming environment for newcomers.
Suitable for Both Long-Term and Short-Term Stays
South Fork RV Park now offers a pull-through site, making it more convenient for short-term visitors passing through the Winston area. This addition complements the park's appeal to long-term residents who appreciate the peaceful riverside living and the strong community spirit. Whether you're looking for a temporary stopover or a long-term home in a tranquil setting, South Fork RV Park offers a unique charm.
Important Considerations
It is important to note that while many residents have expressed their love for the park and the positive changes implemented by the current camp hosts, there has been a past instance of dissatisfaction from long-term residents who were asked to vacate to facilitate tree removal. This situation highlights that while the park offers a generally positive experience, changes in management or necessary maintenance can sometimes impact residents. However, the current focus appears to be on enhancing the park's appeal and safety for all.

South Fork RV Park Reviews
Was there 8 years most of it was Fantastic. Then it was sold then the park host retired. New park host micro management and fine you with our proof just a word from some unknown persons. In all the years there I had no complaints on me or problem with my names on them, till then. Finally was given a notice to Vacate by June 1, 2025. And they would give reference this was so they could take trees down. Spaces 8-17 had to leave. FYI most of us had lived there over 8 years and on social security and disabled. The park has empty spaces we could have shuffled around and stayed in the park. That was not a option given in our notice. Plus based on my rent. They are already advertised those spaces over $100 higher .
Mar 24, 2025 · Wanda ManieMy husband and I moved in here back in 2021 and absolutely love it here. In September of 2023 we became the new camp hosts and have done our best to add to the charm and character of this beautiful place by adding a welcoming main gate entrance, and water feature, beautiful plants and a seating area for tenants and their guests to use in the rock garden we made behind the office, which is the first thing you see when you come in. We also added many stringed solar lights, revamped the flower garden area, and added a bench in the new dog park so elderly tenants and guests can sit and relax while their dog goes potty and runs around to get exercise. We also added seating in the garden area for tenants to enjoy viewing the garden and watching the birds; also affording tenants who can’t walk the path down to the river to still enjoy seeing the river and watch the river wildlife. At the river we included additional seating so tenants and their guests may sit to watch the river up close and all the wildlife that frequents the river. We now offer a pull-through site for short term stays as well. We do not have showers or laundry facilities at this time, and have not had them since even before we became camp hosts, but we do have very nice clean bathroom facilities for tenants and their guests to use. We unfortunately no longer offer cable, a decision made by the resort owner, nor have we ever had WiFi here, but we do offer other amenities. Since we are located on the river, we offer fishing, kayaking, swimming and bonfire amenities down at the river. We do our best to maintain a clean and safe resort here, which is why the resort owner has taken the task of trimming, and in some cases, removing hazardous trees. In a recent storm we had a tree fall down, and while it could have caused more damage than it did, luckily it did not. To be safe, the resort owner is doing everything possible to ensure the safety of his tenants by taking care of hazardous/potentially hazardous trees. While there may be other “fancier” RV parks and resorts, I can say this a clean place, which is well maintained, and quiet place to live; with friendly tenants who are very neighborly. The tenants we currently have are absolutely amazing! We truly have a great community in here and recommend this place for long term and short term stays😊😉
Apr 19, 2025 · Debbie SweeneyThis is by far the best RV Park we have stayed in. The owner and hosts will do anything for you. We’ve lived here for years and I have no plans of moving.
Mar 31, 2025 · Susan Sandersthis is Not a very friendly park, It is full of rules and regulations, that are stupid and unreal, they call themselves a Resort, that is the biggest joke of the year, they have nothing to offer, all you get is water, sewer, and trash. You will have to do all the work to your own site, weeding, spray for weeds, leaf blowing, the camp host do nothing. when you pay your rent do NOT expect a receipt till the next day, even when you pay in cash which they prefer. You will be fined for everything and anything. It is a sad thing. and the latest is they have evicted 10 people all are to be gone by June 1st of this year, so they can cut down over 16 trees, which is very sad, the lost of life, for we have had Birds come here for years to build their nest and bring new life into the world, such a lost. I have lived here since 2000, I watched this RV park be built, and it once was a place to be loved, it use to have Mail service, basic cable tv, WIFI, propane service onsite, would leaf blow at least once a week during the fall, Pot lucks, everyone was willing to help each other, or just sit around and chat. but now there is Nothing. there use to be a waiting list to get into this park, but now no one is on the waiting list. who is willing to pay $600 plus a deposit for no services,.
Mar 21, 2025 · joan fieldsWe have lived here in Winston, at South River Resort since July of 2020.We have loved living here! We hope to make this our home for many years to come. There are several families who have lived here 8 years and one family has been here since the park opened. We have great neighbor and are making some wonderful friends here in the park. We look out for each other and pull together as a community. It's a good feeling, in today's world.Like all neighborhoods, we have had a few rule breakers that have been asked to leave. To the betterment of the community. The owner has been easy to get along with, and has always been very friendly. He has been in our home, and up on our home. Helping us out with issues that we needed help with. He knows how to use a hammer and has been willing to help out. Thank you very much. 👍The owner now has 2 Airbnbs in the park. Which makes it convenient when friends or family comes to visit. We are allowed to make our lots personalized with flowers and yard art. In other words, we are allowed to make them our homes and not just a spot live. The previous management and grounds keeper retired recently from their positions. They dedicated many years managing this park. The couples still here in the community and are appreciated by so many of us , who have been here under "Their Watch," so to speak. They are a lovely couple and appreciated by those who live here.Thank you so much for your hard work to keep this park beautiful. ❤All in all, we have loved living here!
