Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor Introduce
Looking for exceptional "RV parks near me" in the picturesque Gig Harbor, Washington area? Consider Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor, located at 9515 Burnham Dr, Gig Harbor, WA 98332, USA. You can reach them at (253) 858-8138 or +1 253-858-8138 to inquire about availability and make reservations. Based on recent customer feedback, Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor offers a beautiful and well-maintained environment for RV enthusiasts seeking a tranquil getaway with convenient access to the local town.
The environment of Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor is consistently praised for its beautiful setting nestled among the trees. The park is described as well laid out, featuring a multi-level design with attractive landscaping. This attention to detail in the park's layout and maintenance contributes to a pleasant and aesthetically pleasing experience for visitors. The wooded surroundings create a sense of privacy and immersion in nature, offering a refreshing contrast to more open or urban RV park settings. For those seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by natural beauty, Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor appears to be an excellent choice.
The services at Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor are highlighted by the friendly, trained, and helpful staff. Positive interactions with the staff can significantly enhance the overall experience of staying at an RV park, and the reviews suggest that guests can expect a high level of customer service here. The check-in process is also noted as being easy and quick, ensuring a smooth and efficient start to your stay.
Several key features of Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor are mentioned in the reviews. The park offers pull-through sites that are described as very generous in size. This is a significant advantage for RVers, especially those with larger rigs, as it simplifies the process of parking and departing. The well-maintained nature of the park extends beyond the landscaping to the individual sites, although one reviewer noted that their specific site (#50) could have used better cleaning upon arrival, with a dirty table and some trash on the ground. Additionally, this site was reported as not being graded flat side to side, which is a factor that some RVers consider important for leveling their vehicles.
Another notable feature is the convenient location of Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor. It is mentioned that the park is just a quick walk down the road (via a sidewalk!) to the town of Gig Harbor. This proximity allows guests easy access to local amenities, shops, and restaurants without the need to drive. Exploring the charming town of Gig Harbor can be a significant draw for visitors, and the park's location facilitates this exploration.
However, there are a couple of important considerations mentioned in the reviews. Firstly, the driveway entrance is described as narrow and located on a narrow two-lane busy street. This requires careful attention when entering and exiting the park, especially for larger RVs. One reviewer specifically advises approaching from the north and cautions against following Google Maps' directions if they suggest coming from the east through town. Secondly, it is noted that the driveway and/or street leading to the park were under construction at the time of the review and were very rough, particularly affecting longer rigs. While this is described as a "psbl improvement," it is an important factor to be aware of when planning your arrival.
It is interesting to note that, unlike some other Sun Outdoors locations, this particular park does not have a pool or hot tubs. For some travelers, these amenities are a significant part of the RV park experience. However, the emphasis on the private and wooded setting at Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor suggests that the park prioritizes a different kind of experience focused on natural beauty and tranquility rather than extensive recreational facilities.
While the provided information does not include specific promotional details, the positive reviews highlighting the beautiful setting, well-maintained park, friendly staff, and convenient location near town serve as strong endorsements for Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor. The fact that one reviewer, who has stayed at three Sun Outdoors locations, described each as a great experience further speaks to the consistency and quality associated with the brand.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Gig Harbor area, Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor offers a compelling option. The combination of a serene, wooded environment with the convenience of being within walking distance to town provides a balanced experience. While potential guests should be mindful of the narrow entrance and the reported road construction (which may or may not still be ongoing), the overall positive feedback regarding the park's aesthetics, maintenance, and staff suggests a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The generous pull-through sites are particularly beneficial for those with larger RVs.
To get the most up-to-date information on the status of the driveway/street construction, site availability, and any current promotions, it is recommended to contact Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor directly at (253) 858-8138 or +1 253-858-8138. Inquire about site suitability for your RV size, any recent improvements to the entrance or roads, and specific amenities offered. By contacting the park directly, you can ensure that Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor meets your specific needs and expectations for a memorable RV experience in the beautiful Gig Harbor region.
In conclusion, Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor stands out as a beautifully situated and well-maintained RV park in a wooded setting, offering spacious pull-through sites and a friendly staff. Its proximity to the town of Gig Harbor adds to its appeal, providing convenient access to local attractions. While the narrow entrance and past road construction are points to note, the overall positive reviews suggest a high-quality RV experience for those seeking a peaceful and convenient getaway in the Pacific Northwest.

Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor Reviews
Beautiful setting in the trees. Park is well laid out, multi-level, nicely landscaped and well maintained. Staff is friendly, trained, and helpful. Check in was easy and quick. Note that the narrow driveway entrance is on a narrow 2 lane busy street. Approach from the north don't come from the East through town like Google maps told us to do. Longer rigs be aware the driveway/street is currently under construction and is very rough. Psbl improvement: our site #50 needed cleaning (table very dirty and a bit o trash on ground) and was not graded flat side to side. Overall nice park. Would definitely visit again.
Apr 29, 2025 · Michael EarlyWe've stayed at 3 sun outdoors now, and every one of them has been a great experience. This place has no pool or hot tubs, but is tucked into a spot that feels very private and wooded. The pull through sites are very generous. And it is just a quick walk down the road (sidewalk!) to town.
Mar 25, 2025 · MerrwellNice quiet RV sites with picnic tables. A lot of the sites are unlevel, so make sure you have your blocks to even up your leveling jacks. The staff was great and there were even dog parks in which my two dogs enjoyed very much! Wifi also had great signal.
Mar 23, 2025 · Joe LukeGorgeous greenery and towering trees provide a quiet, nestled RV stop.Spots don't seem to be tidied up after an occupant leaves, so you may be stuck taking care of someone else's mess.
May 10, 2025 · Jason Bowen (Kyrzon)Although more expensive than we usually pay, this place was clean and nice. Hannah from the office was very helpful, She went out of her way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. However, they said the bathrooms had been updated about a year ago, and there were NO HANDICAP ACCESS stalls. They said there are plans down the line to bulid more. But if you update an existing building, why not at least put in a grab bar or two, and enlarge one of the stalls? I was surprised by this since the cost to stay is so high. They should have put a handicap stall in as part of the remodel. This made me drop my review down to a 3 star. You can do better Sun Outdoor.
